Braden Makley RHP / OF / Granada, CA / 2027From 9/11/24: “Makley is very well regarded by the Hank LoForte in NorCal who raves about the athletic 2-way product who helped Granada to an outstanding spring season that culminated with a 29-1 record and the #3 ranking in the Prep Baseball California Final Power 25 ranking. Over the course of the summer, Makley consistently dominated hitters with his mid to upper 80's FB that touches 90 MPH at present, with a pair of mid to upper 70's offspeed offerings in his SLD/CHG combo. Impressive on the mound, Makley raises his profile even higher with his athleticism and RH hitting profile that gives intriguing 2-way vibes for his future.” |

Michael Flink RHP / 1B / Bishop Montgomery High, CA / 2027Rankings StateRank: 134 / POS: 25
From 10/19/25: “A strong, athletic frame at 6-2, 212 pounds, Flink shows clear physical projection and the potential to continue to add strength and velocity over time. His FB sat 86-87 mph, topping at 87.7 with a max spin rate of 2121 rpm and an 89% strike rate, showing consistent command in the zone. The CB (72-75 mph) flashed as a developing weapon, featuring sharp lateral break when he found his release point. His CH (74-78 mph) was arguably his most intriguing pitch, a true off-speed offering with low spin (1300-1600 rpm) and late arm-side fade, effectively tunneling off the FB with identical arm speed. Flink’s smooth, controlled delivery and full arm action contribute to his repeatability and deception. With continued refinement of his secondary command and natural velocity growth, Flink’s overall profile is highly projectable and points toward a promising future on the mound.” |

James Venick RHP / Harvard-Westlake, CA / 2027Rankings StateRank: 141 / POS: 28
From 7/24/25
Positional Profile: RHP Long, durable right-hander with clean mechanics, late life on the fastball, and developing secondary pitches that show swing-and-miss potential.
Body: 6-3, 211-pounds. Athletic, sturdy frame with present strength and room for continued physical development. Delivery: Tall, upright setup with glove positioned at chest height. Employs a high leg kick to generate rhythm and drive, creating strong separation between hips and hands. Maintains balance and control throughout, finishing with a full, directional follow-through down the mound. Arm Action: RH. Delivers from a high 3/4 arm slot with a full-circle arm path, generating a long, whippy release that creates late arm speed and extension. Natural follow-through while maintaining balance and directional control toward the plate. FB: T89, 86-87 mph. FB with ride/run traits; above-average vertical carry and moderate arm-side life. Induced whiffs in and at the top of the zone. T2258, 1989 average rpm. SL: 75-75 mph. SL shows sharp vertical bite with little sweep. The depth makes it effective for potential swing-and-miss situations. Work in progress pitch. 2238 average rpm. CH: 76-79 mph. Tumbling action with heavy arm-side run and minimal vertical drop. The low spin helps play into the late fade, creating separation from the FB and inducing weak contact and missed barrels. T1700, 1629 average rpm. |
