Then and Now
Chen started things out at Rising Stars Preseason All-State in March with strong performances in the tournaments throughout the spring earning an invite to the Junior Future Games. From March to July he took his pop time from 2.28-2.45 to 2.19-2.28. His top end 60-yard dash speed improved and he took his time from 7.26 to 7.14. Chen is a strong bodied catcher, so it is impressive the way he can move. The trackman hitting metrics are where he improved at the most. He took his max exit velocity from 81.2 to 88.3. The average exit velocity also went up from 69.6 to 79.8. His max ditance was up nearly 75ft.
