Final 2025 Rankings Update: Class of 2026
December 9, 2025
As this class heads into their senior year, a year where they will be looked upon to lead their respective varsity clubs from the front, the draft talent pushes themselves to the forefront while our list is filled with college-bound players. Heading into the spring, and especially at the top of the list, this list now becomes a draft board. While few will be scouted in high school, and even fewer will sign out of high school, our goal is to forecast the top prospects from this class at their age 21-25 seasons.
This list, expanded to 375 names (our approximate number of college-bound baseball players for the senior class), holds 276 players currently committed to play college baseball in some capacity, wether at the D1, D2, D3, NAIA, or at the junior college level. While the fall brings little change after our summer update, we did see a handful of prospects elevate themselves on the fall circuit. Read along to learn about some of our top MLB draft prospects, some spring helium hopefuls, and we conclude with some of our favorite senior classes that will look to represent their community with pride this spring with sights set on Victory Field.
Before diving into our favorite draft prospects and senior classes, find a full breakdown of the college recruiting classes from our talented 2026s at the links below.

Top ten prospects in the class as we lead into the spring

| 4 | Hudson Devaughan | RHP | Mooresville | Alabama |
| 5 | Aiden Smith | RHP | Shelbyville | Kentucky |
| 6 | Sammy Swank | RHP | McCutcheon | Kentucky |
| 7 | Rob Czarniecki | OF | Chesterton | Kentucky |

| 10 | Jake Winger | 3B | McCutcheon | Indiana |
+ Dunlap continues to headline the list, a two-time Prep Baseball All-American who heads into the spring with Day 1 upside. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound, tooled-out backstop stands as one of the top prep backstops in the country, looking to be the first catcher drafted out of the Hoosier State since Tucker Barnhart in 2009. He holds all the ingredients that will bring a bevy of scouts to Crown Point this spring. The unteachableness lies in the blend of physicality and athleticism that Sean brings behind the dish, along with holding plus raw power and arm strength. The quality of his hit tool, how much game power he is able to get to this spring, and the receiving ability will be put under the microscope to depict how highly he is valued by professional organizations from a dollar standpoint, but a loud spring for Dunlap could easily bring a seven figure bonus next July.

+ Grant leads as the top-ranked arm of this crop. Standing at 6-foot-2, 185-pounds with a quick, compact arm, athletic delivery, and unwavering swagger, Gannon burst to the top spot amongst arms in this class after a huge junior campaign. Armed with a fastball up to 96 and slider that flashes 60s, the floor set as a reliable strike-thrower with the stuff to beat next-level hitters excites. A Tennessee recruit who will be a draft-eligible sophomore in college, it may take a good chunk of change to buy Gannon out of his Tennessee commitment, but he's done nothing but go out and post dominance throughout his career, and doing that once again this spring could pay off handsomely. I wouldn't be surprised to see him come out grabbing 97's or higher, but the breaking ball and pitch-ability will be what he is valued most for.

+ Two more prospects who will be draft-eligible after their sophomore season in college stand at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, in SS Dylan Bowen and RHP Hudson Devaughan. One of the more consistent in-game performers that this class has to offer, Bowen will look to do what we've seen him do for years again this spring - produce. The Oklahoma State recruit is a defending All-State SS for Hanover Central & brings a blend of above average pro tools that are amplified by athleticism and toughness. Devaughan (clip below) brings some of the loudest arm talent in the state, up to 97 as a junior with a shot of grabbing triple digits this spring. Each of these two prospects, like Grant and Dunlap, should garner plenty of attention from professional scouts throughout the 2026 spring.

+ Two RHP'ers signed to Kentucky follow in Aiden Smith and Sammy Swank. Smith has a chance to be a serious helium candidate this spring, a silky-smooth mover with innate athleticism in a wiry, 6-foot-3 frame. Smith has reached 93 mph on his fastball and attacks with an array of above-average secondaries, while Swank (clip below) brings a workhorse frame and a long arm swing that produced a 95 mph heater in 2025. The last arm we see in our Top 10 is also our top-ranked lefty, Mississippi State signee Beckett Doane. Doane stands at 6-foot-6 with a serious funk from a wide, lower release height, bringing a low-90s heater that makes hitters uncomfortable to say the least. If the breaking ball trends the way it needs to, he (along with Smith and Swank) are sure to be buzzy names amongst the scouting community next spring.

+ To condude, three right-handed hitters who have all stood in the Top 10 of this class throughout their high school career find themselves there as we lead into the spring. CF Rob Czarniecki leads the group at No. 7; a 6-foot-2 CF that has flashed all five tools throughout our follows. He's followed closely by No. 8 ranked prospect, 3B Aiden Reynolds, who has long built a reputation as one of the most dangerous hitters in the class. Reynolds (clip) exhibits all traits necessary to hit at a high level; quality bat-to-ball feel, outstanding pitch recognition and swing decisions, along with raw power that has trended steadily in the right direction over a four year follow that he gets to in-game. Rounding out the list we have 3B Jake Winger at No. 10, an Indiana signee who stands at 6-foot-5, 210-pounds. The allure to Winger is the future run-producing abilities that he has shown so often throughout his career. A 4A All-State performer in 2024, Winger will look to finish his career with another All-State type season for a McCutcheon Mavericks club that features some serious frontline starpower.

Helium Hopefuls
Five of my favorite potential helium candidates that I'm booking trips to see next spring...
|
Caden Matusak SS / RHP / Crown Point, IN / 2026+ 6-foot-4 infielder who is as tooled as any in the class. Chance to be an above average to better runner when it is all said and done; ran a 6.87 in March of 2025. Loud raw bat speed and twitch while impacting the ball in the mid-100s. If refinements are made, could lead to big game power this spring. The arm is best tool, 95 across the diamond and up to 92 on the bump with huge intrigue there as well. Has the hands and rangy nature to stay on the dirt long-term. As scouts are flocking to see Dunlap this spring, Matusak could be a huge benefactor and create real name for himself. Michigan recruit. 18.1 at draft. Finds himself just outside the T10 at #11 overall as the #2 ranked SS. |
|
Jaxon Lueken RHP / Forest Park Jr-Sr High School, IN / 2026+ Long, lean, wiry, 6-foot-3 athlete who made some noise on the circuit last summer. Was up to 95 at the NPI last June and into the low-90s through several spring looks; could come out grabbing even higher with the twitch/arm speed he holds. Will flash a low-80s slider that has upside and I have seen him turnover and control a low-80s change. Raw operation in total, but he brings the stuff/frame that will excite scouts. Indiana recruit. #12 ranked prospect in the class, #5 righty. |
|
Collin Marcum RHP / Bloomington South, IN / 2026+ High-waisted, bouncy athlete at 6-foot-2, 180-pounds. Tons of projection left to the frame. Clean, whippy arm stroke that produced a heater up to 93 this fall while sitting in the 88-92 range; flashes late riding life but does lack control of FB at times. Makes up for it with feel of tight, late-breaking upper-70s slider that shows makings of a real out-pitch. Can also go to a low-80s change that flashes above average for the pro scale. Lacks repeatability at times, but the athlete, arm talent, and upside could shove him up boards if he comes out in pristine form this spring. Indiana recruit that is 18.1 at draft. #13 prospect on our board and the #6 RHP. |
|
Peyton Gray SS / Heritage Hills High School, IN / 2026+ Pro left-side body at 6-foot-3, 195-pounds. Raw-but-athletic in everything he does; three sport standout throughout high school. Good athlete who turned in a 6.87 60 in March of 2025. The arm is loud, up to 92 across, and he can stick on the dirt long-term. The body likely depicts wether he stays at SS or moves to 3B. Offensively, hits from a wide stance with solid bat to ball and emerging power. Short/simple operation in the box. Has all prerequisite traits to draw significant buzz if strength is added this winter & he is able to come out and produce in the early parts of the spring. #17 ranked prospect on our board, #3 ranked SS.
|
|
Matthew Cook RHP / Hanover Central, IN / 2026+ Cook has a chance to gain traction, though mostly unknown amongst the scouting community now, with outlier traits and a chance to really blossom this spring. It is a workhorse frame at 6-foot-4, 210-pounds with an outlier fastball/release height, able to create ride/run properties on a fastball that has reached 92+ from a 5-foot even release height, creating real upshoot as he works the fastball to the top on his arm-side. He spins the fastball north-of 2400 RPM with 6 and a half feet of extension, more traits that leads me to believe a velo jump could be looming, and there is ample room for refinement in a frame that could pack on real strength. As long as we've followed, dating back to early in his freshman year, he's flooded the zone with a three-pitch mix. The slider plays in the upper-70s with occasional hop-sweep from his outlier release, and his 79-81 change averaged over 20 inches of horizontal break at the All-State last March. Cook will be a benefactor of Bowen's fame this spring and could easily shoot up boards himself, especially amongst orgs that value the low VAA fastball that he provides. Evansville recruit, also 18 and 1 month (18.1) at draft. The #20 ranked prospect in the class, positioned as our #9 ranked RHP. |
Standout Senior Classes
Nine senior classes that boasts a wealth of top-ranked players, all likely to come out as top-ranked teams in our initial high school rankings for their repsective classification...
+ Center Grove leads the charge, owning the most T300 players in the class (10). The Trojans will be led by the top-ranked RHP in the class, Tennessee recruit Gannon Grant, who headlines the three Division I signees; RHP Kellen Thompson (Ball State) and OF Hudson Stewart (Dayton). Seven Center Grove products are ranked inside the T100, including two of our top six catchers in Tristan Yerman (Indiana Wesleyan) and Joel Tracy (Southwestern Illinois JC). OF Reed Sawa (Indiana Wesleyan) and RHP Eric McAtee (Saint Xavier) are also regarded as T100 recruits in the state. RHP's Andrew Murphy (IU-Kokomo), Hayden Poeppleman (Saint Xavier), and Tyler Hurt (Marian) are also college-bound seniors that will provide the Trojans with huge depth on the mound.
+ I am excited about the group of seniors that Guerin Catholic has, likely to make them one of the top-ranked 3A programs in the state. They are led by a pair of T30 players, and Division I signees, in RHP Tate Troxell (Alabama) and OF Ian Taylor (George Mason). Bolstering the defense, and top of the lineup, will be our top-ranked NAIA-bound SS and T50 player, SS Karson Smith (Taylor). In total, the Golden Eagles have six T100 prospects in the senior class, the three names above plus 6.4 runner and INF Nolan Ratcliff (Marian), RHP Luke Gremelspacher (Indiana Wesleyan), and our top-ranked RHP that still remains uncommitted in Harrison Haq. C/OF Grant Beard (Marian) is another name on the top-half of our 2026 rankings, and RHP Tyler Larsh (Goshen) is yet another college-bound senior that Coach Schrage will have at his disposal.
+ Likely to debut as our top-ranked program from the southern part of the state, Bloomington South has one of the top senior classes for 2026 and it's led by a pair of highly-touted Division I bound arms in RHP Collin Marcum (Indiana) and RHP Connor Couch (Columbia). The pitching depth will be a massive strength for the Panthers, as Coach Kluesner will be able to turn to T100 recruit RHP Xavier Hemingway (Marian), along with one of the top D3 pitching recruits that this class has to offer in RHP Amos Ewer (Hanover). The offense will be led by 1B Luke Arnett (Taylor), who is the top-ranked 1B in the class and a T70 prospect, and one of our top-ranked D3 recruits C Jake McCammon (Franklin). All told, the Panthers have nine players ranked in our T300, with another Hanover commit in INF Boston Held, and two quality seniors that remain uncommitted in INF Caleb Oliver and INF Max Surdam.
+ Harrison looks to be the favorite in Lafayette and will be led by a group of eleven seniors ranked inside of our senior class rankings, the most of any program in Indiana. The Raiders are led by SS/RHP Lannon Nicoloff (George Mason); a T20 player in the class. Another DI signee, RHP Jeremy Lowrey (Stetson) should factor in as he comes off injury, one of the top right-handed arms in the state. Our top-ranked NAIA-bound RHP, also a T50 prospect in the class, RHP Lyrik Neal (Taylor) will also be a staple of one of the deepest staff's in the state. UTL Kendrick Pena (Indiana Wesleyan) is another T100 player that will impact the Raiders' lineup, along with fellow college-bound seniors in OF Kaden Keys (Indianapolis) and C/UTL Sieger Geswein (IU-Kokomo). Navy football commit and OF Jack Gonzales will play a big role once again to this experienced lineup, bringing the athleticism that you'd expect of a Division I bound football recruit. LHP Charles Ellison (Vincennes) pairs with one of our top unsigned senior RHP'ers Colton Watts to bring more depth amongst the senior crop, along with unsigned seniors expected to make an impact on both sides in RHP/OF Kreigh Salmon and RHP/2B Eli Biggs.
+ Another deep group of seniors is found on the northside of Indianapolis in the Fishers Tigers 2026 class. This group is led by a pair of arms; the #5 ranked southpaw in our senior class and a T30 player Owen Lukac (Evansville) along with the state's top Division II recruit in RHP Hayden Werner (Maryville). All in all, nine Tigers find themselves in our senior class rankings, with the second-highest ranked unsigned catcher David Pina standing as their third-highest ranked senior. There are six seniors currently committed, headlined by Lukac and Werner, and also including INF Vincent Pecoraro (Anderson), OF Sean Frey (Anderson), RHP Miles Tebben (Grace), and OF Collin Bumps (Manchester). C Justin Brown and OF Andrew Baldini are also seniors that Coach Cherry will have at his disposal, uncommitted for now, but recognized as ranked players in our senior class.
+ Though a bit smaller than the classes above, the Crown Point senior class packs a serious punch and includes three of our top fifteen players. This group is led by Tennessee recruit, and the #1 player in the class - C Sean Dunlap. #2 ranked SS Caden Matusak (Michigan) and #14 overall player RHP Logan Johnston (Indiana), along with Dunlap, make up easily the largest contingent of frontline talent amongst any senior class in the state. Unsigned-but-ranked seniors Andrew Long and Khalin Figurski should also factor in, along with a host of talented juniors, to provide the depth needed to make a run.
+ We stay in the region for our last 3A class, Hanover Central, another smaller-but-talented group as all are regarded as T130 recruits in Indiana. The top-ranked senior shortstop in the state, Dylan Bowen (Oklahoma State), will lead the charge as a defending 3A All-State SS. RHP Matthew Cook (Evansville) will be the ace of this squad after holding that title in each of the last two seasons. Hanover Central will look to SR 3B Aidan Creasbaum, a Valparaiso signee, to protect Bowen and provide a valuable run-producing presence. Also, the Wildcats have a strong #2 SP in RHP Jacob Siska (South Suburban), who will create a quality 1-2 punch with Cook.
+ McCutcheon will look for a bounce-back 2025 as they enter 2026 tied for the most Division I signees of any program in the state. Two top ten players in our senior class bring huge starpower in RHP Sammy Swank (Kentucky) and 3B Jake Winger (Indiana). Two of the most proven players in the state, Swank and Winger will likely set the tone, along with OF Jonathan Riley (Toldeo) who is coming off an uber-productive junior campaign. College-bound seniors in RHP Reed Grimes (Grace) and UTL Zayne Newgent (Manchester) provide further senior leadership and depth, while C Mekyel Almond stands as a T150 player in the class who remains uncommitted.
+ Amongst the 1A/2A crowd, Coach Chris Estep's senior class at University contains the most ranked players on our 2026 list, likely to make them a preseason favorite in the class of 2A. In total, the Trailblazers have six ranked players on this list, including three in the coveted T100. They'll be led once again by Tulane signee, SS Beckett Suh, and the top-ranked uncommitted player in the state and the only T50 prospect still looking for a next-level home, UTL/RHP Ryan Castetter. One of the top Divison III recruits in the state, along with one of our top-ranked 1B, Cooper Cammack (Case Western) will be a key contributor to the middle of the order while also providing a presence on the bump. RHP Caleb Stocker (Wabash) is back to bolster the rotation once again, while fellow RHP Jacob Shearer (Manchester) is yet another college-bound arm at Coach Estep's disposal. OF/RHP Phillip Jacobs remains uncommitted for now, but is also regarded as a T300 prospect in our senior class rankings.
