Georgia Class of 2029 Rankings: Freshman Follows + Spring Picks to Click

Prep Baseball Georgia
Staff

The time has come for the players in the 2029 class to step onto a high school baseball field in 2026. It is every young prospects goal to play varsity baseball for their school. We know that time may come sooner than others because the state of Georgia has some of the most competitive high school players in the country. The evaluation process is always fluid and on going and we know that development comes at different stages of every young players career.

This initial release will feature 100 players that we have gotten to see at our Rising Stars events over the last year as well as the tournaments at LakePoint this fall and summer. This list will expand and develop as the prospects in the 2029 class begin to emerge.

Today, we will look at some high follow freshman, plus spring picks to click.

As a 2029 graduate Prep Baseball Georgia has 2 premier "Invite-Only" events that lead to the Southeast Super Sophomore Games, which take place the 1st weekend in August. Our first event will be Preseason All-State January 10th, which is where we kick off the year and build our scouting schedule for the spring season. From there we will invite players to the Top Prospect Games which will take place June 2nd and 3rd at LakePoint Sports. We will then pick the Georgia team from these 2 events + a full spring and summer evaluating during games.

Freshman Follows

Here we highlight some players outside of the top 10 they could easily find themselves in them mix after the spring season. They could have some serious impact for their high school program and he on the rise soon.

Ashton Brown, OF, Sprayberry
We love the term “hitters hit” and the 2025 Junior Future Gamer fits that role to a tee. Brown showed the prowess all summer long including finishing future games week without getting out. With an athletic 5-foot-9, 155-pound frame, Brown shows great balance from the right side, letting the hands work in-zone in an all-fields approach while showing advanced pitch recognition for the class. Rarely looks over matched in any situation at the plate, and really lets his 6.57 speed play on the bases. A true CF long-term with present arm strength backed by the plus foot speed and quality routes. It’s a very tooled-up profile that grew in immense strides throughout 2025, and everything points to even more growth as he's set to be a major piece for Sprayberry sooner than later.

Hudson Pursell, RHP/SS, Wesleyan
Pursell was a standout for our staff on multiple occasions for our staff in 2025, and could be in-line for an early role in Wesleyan’s tremendous freshman group. Armed with a wiry, projectable 6-foot-1, the true two-way talent shows present whippy arm speed with a real feel for a three-pitch mix. Short strider working from a high, three-quarters slot, the RHP creates a steep downhill angle from a heavy low-to-mid 80s fastball that he paints on the black often. Slider has the makings of an above-average offering quickly with sharp, tight horizontal for whiffs at 71-75. Changeup plays well with consistent fade that creates good depth in the high-70s. Pitches with confidence at a young age, and velocity is going to come in a hurry as the frame gets physical. Pursell can flat out hit as well with some sneaky raw power from the right-side. Maintains quiet actions at the plate with a flat barrel that he leverages well through for easy pull-side carry. Hit/power upside is very real and showed it against quality competition regularly. Another former junior future gamer is no surprise, but Pursell could have some of the highest upside long-term.

Fuller Carver, RHP/OF, Harris County
We first got eyes on Carver back in the Spring during the Prep Baseball Youth Cup at Lakepoint and it was easy to see the arm talent right away. Stands a wiry and athletic 6-foot-1, 170-pounds and moves really well down the mound with loose whip and tons of arm speed from a repeatable ¾ slot. Fastball lives in the low to mid 80s at 83-85 MPH with sharp arm-side run and feel to consistently land on both halves of the plate for both whiffs and soft contact. Shows developing feel for a breaking ball in the low 70s with slurve action that pairs well off the fastball for swing-and-miss. At the plate, Carver shows fast hands from a well-connected RH cut in a well-leveraged path and stays balanced through the zone with budding impact in the barrel to match. Harris County has a plethora of underclass talent that looks to lead them back to the playoffs in ‘26 and Carver could be ready to step into a huge role right away.

Graysen Radics, OF/RHP, Wesleyan
Radics simply impressed no matter the setting in each look this year. Lean 5-foot-9, 150-pounds with tons of athleticism and present tools across the board. Simple stroke with quick, direct hands with a flat barrel that stays in the zone forever and stays well-balanced through impact. Great feel for the zone stands out as Radics shows the ability to handle velo or spin well as he works up-the-middle of the field. A 6.89 runner with good routes to the ball and above-average arm strength (87 OF Velo) allow for a chance to stick long-term in the grass. Intriguing look on the bump as well as he moves down the mound well with arm speed present from shorter arm action and repeatable higher ¾ slot. Fastball lives in the low 80s with a changeup that pairs well out of the same tunnel in the mid 70s. It’s a strong profile across the board and Radics has a chance to provide an immediate impact and help Wesleyan succeed in a multitude of ways.

JB Nichols, 3B/RHP, Cartersville
The Cartersville freshman burst onto the scene this summer as he ultimately earned a Junior Future Games Invite and showed extremely well throughout the entirety of the event. Physical 6-foot-3, 196-pound frame and is armed with an immense feel to hit. Mature approach at the dish always stands out as the RHH exudes excellent body control with present barrel feel and huge bat speed through the zone. Shows great hands in-zone with ability to change barrel plane and generates strength from the ground-up. Strong pitch recognition evident with ability to spoil tough pitches in an all-fields approach. On the mound, Nichols shows a good feel for a 3-pitch mix with a fastball in the low 80s. The continued in-game production and projection is amongst some of the best in the state and Nichols has a chance to carve out meaningful playing time with a Cartersville squad that is coming off a 4A State Championship appearance in ‘25.

Carson Clark, C/1B, Cambridge
Clark has been mentioned many times already this week and could probably make both of these lists for good reason. Monster power potential emanates from the physical 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame but the feel to hit doesn't fall too far behind for the backstop. Seemingly generates 95+ exit velocities every time we see him while working deep counts consistently. Hands stay very quiet through the zone with advanced feel for the barrel. It's the type of batted ball profile that can come in and make an immediate impact for Cambridge at a young age.

Jacob Dockter, 1B/LHP, Mount Vernon
he feel to hit really stood out for ‘25 Junior Future Games participant throughout the course of this year. Physical and broad-shouldered 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame with more to project and well-connected LH swing. Good balance in a hanging trigger with present bat speed and barrel feel alike as he stays on-plane consistently in a linear path. Advanced pitch recognition for his age stands out with impressive hands in-zone and ability to use the whole field well. Dockter is in the low 80s on the mound from the left-side as well. Budding tools throughout and looks the part of a day 1 impact on both sides of the ball for Mount Vernon.

Myles Rahm, C, Alpharetta
The backstop impressed staff as he looked the part to close out the Fall circuit with Georgia Jackets. Obvious physicality and athleticism in the box at 6-foot-1, 165-pounds, the RHH shows quick, direct hands to the ball and budding feel for the barrel. Gap-to-gap approach and stays well-balanced through the zone to drive the ball well across the field. There is tons of projection in the frame/profile and Rahm could be a name that pops this Spring as he has a chance to see quality playing time with Alpharetta.
