FALL STANDOUTS AND BREAKOUTS

Landon Makinster OF / RHP / Reeds Spring, MO / 2026

Makinster broke out at our Kansas Curve Scout Day this fall, emerging as one of the biggest winners from the event after a strong showing in both the showcase and gameplay portions. Lean with room to add strength to his 6-foot, 180-pound frame, the small-school senior posted a 94 mph peak exit velocity with sneaky pop generated from a rhythmic right-handed swing that collected multiple hits in game. He also showed the ability to play lockdown defense in the outfield and ran his fastball into the low-to-mid-80s on the mound. An uncommitted name to know, Makinster slots into the rankings at No. 184 and looks poised for a big spring.

Roman Kern OF / Francis Howell Central, MO / 2026

Kern continues to impress with every look, turning in another strong showing at our 5 Star – The Lou Scout Day in October. An all-around athlete, the Moberly Area CC commit flashes strength from a quick right-handed swing with T78.1 mph bat speed and 95+ mph exit velocities, while also covering ground in the outfield with a 6.93 60-time. Look for Kern to be a breakout candidate this spring for the Spartans.

Tylan Messley SS / 3B / Ash Grove, MO / 2026

Another Southeast Missouri small-school product breaking into our rankings, Messley makes his debut at No. 229 after a strong updated look this fall at the 417 Baseball Scout Day in Springfield, showing significant jumps across his metrics. The recent Mineral Area commit displayed a well-rounded skill set, including a smooth, line-drive-oriented right-handed swing that produced low-90s exit velocities, paired with steady, reliable actions on the infield.

Brody Pant 3B / Carl Junction, MO / 2026

Pant emerged as the biggest winner of the 417 Baseball Scout Day, posting the day’s top exit velocity (96.7 mph) and fastest 60 time (6.85) in an all around loud performance. Sliding up the rankings to No. 256, the recent Pittsburg State commit brings present power in a strength-filled 5-foot-11, 201-pound frame that has the ability to stick on the infield but also has the athleticism and speed to translate to the outfield if needed.

Haydn Jinkins SS / OF / Grain Valley, MO / 2026

At 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, Jinkins showcases a quick, rotational right-handed swing with a level path through the zone. While he continues to add strength, he already demonstrated the ability to drive the ball with authority to the pull side, posting a 93.6 mph peak exit velocity at our Yard Baseball Club Scout Day early this fall. Defensively, Jinkins continues to display steady actions across the infield with an 83 mph arm. With room to continue adding size and strength, he makes his debut in the rankings at No. 281.
