With the summer and fall behind us and the 2026 State Rankings being released at the end of August, we’re taking a look at some of the top uncommitted players within this update. Today, we are taking a look at the top 10 uncommitted catchers. This list is full of quality backstops that are still looking for a home at the next level.

2026 Top 10 Uncommitted: Catchers

John Dolan C / 3B / Hargrave, TX / 2026

Dolan, a 5'11", 204-pound junior, is an uncommitted LHH C/3B/RHP with a strong, projectable frame. At the plate, Dolan showcases a developing bat/power combo with a max exit velocity of 99 mph and consistent hard contact from both sides. Defensively, he records pop times of 1.94-2.02 with solid footwork, a quick release, and accurate throws (79 mph). His infield actions are smooth, with an 82 mph arm and the ability to throw from multiple angles. On the mound, Dolan features an 86 mph fastball with sink and tail, complemented by a curveball (74-77 mph) with sharp spin, a deceptive changeup (77-81 mph), and a splitter (78-79 mph). With a starter's mix and the ability to throw strikes, Dolan has significant two-way potential and room for growth as he continues to develop.

Tyler Ramos C / 1B / Lutheran South Academy, TX / 2026

Ramos was a member of our Senior Future Games team this past summer at LakePoint. He showed a real ability to defend behind the plate. Above average arm and pop time. At the plate, he can impact the baseball and shows some pull side pop. Big, physical backstop that can defend at a high level.

Cruz Banuelas C / 3B / Prestonwood Christian Academy, TX / 2026

Banuelas has always shown well when we see him. A strong arm (79mph) and a sub 2 pop when we saw him over the summer. He reached 100mph EV in BP as well as adding some hard hit balls in game in the last look. Physical backstop that can impact the game on both sides.

Jackson Reagan C / 2B / Conroe, TX / 2026

Athletic frame with room to add strength, projecting well physically with defensive versatility. He posts workout pop times of 1.82–1.93 and shows a mature offensive approach, consistently finding the barrel for line-drive contact. A primary catcher with upside, he continues to trend upward as he adds strength and physical maturity. High motor guy that wants to win and pulls the team in the right direction.

Layton Murrell C / OF / Springtown, TX / 2026

Murrell continues to get better each time we see him. His feet work cleanly out of the crouch, and he shows carry on his throws with average accuracy, posting pop times around 1.99. At the plate, he’s an aggressive swinger who flashes hard contact with emerging pull-side power. The catch-and-throw skill set is solid, and the hit tool continues to trend upward. He’s a hard worker who wants to be great, and it shows in the way he carries himself.

Nico Broyles C / 1B / Strake Jesuit College Preparatory, TX / 2026

Nico Broyles is a durable 2026 catcher from Strake Jesuit who brings  defensive reliability and offensive impact. He receives well and  shows feel for blocking. The arm strength is continuing to tick up, giving him a chance to develop into a reliable catch-and-throw asset. At the plate, Broyles can really impact the baseball. A solid all-around catcher whose tools point to more growth ahead.

Brayden Pacheco C / OF / Hebron, TX / 2026

Brayden Pacheco is a projectable athlete with impressive arm talent and defensive versatility. Behind the plate, he posted an 83mph velo &  pop times ranging from 1.92 to 1.99 seconds,  showcasing quick release, solid receiving actions, and standout arm strength. He was also 92mph from the OF. His 7.00 60 adds another layer to his profile, reflecting good speed and overall athleticism. With a projectable frame and room to add strength, Pacheco is poised to unlock even more power and continue trending upward.

Cedrick McClintock C / Thomas E Randle, TX / 2026

Cedrick McClintock is a physical 2026 catcher from Randle HS who brings strength, stability, and competitive edge behind the plate. He shows solid receiving traits with soft hands, controls the block well, and pairs a quick transfer with an accurate arm that keeps the running game in check. Offensively, McClintock takes aggressive, intentful swings and produces firm contact to the pull side with power potential still climbing as he matures. A strong, dependable backstop with tools that translate in-game and a ceiling that continues to rise.

Isaac Calderon C / OF / Guyer, TX / 2026

Calderon is a solid catcher who’s still trending upward, showing strength in his game on both sides of the ball. He features solid arm strength and quickness, delivering accurate throws on the bag, and he’s able to drive balls hard on a line at the plate. With a good build and a strong lower half, he continues to project well as he develops.

Miles Horton C / 2B / The Bennett School, TX / 2026

Athletic frame with strength on the way, moving well with a 6.98 60. He catches well during game action, showing consistent receiving and feel for the position. In the workout, his pop times range 1.87–1.94. At the plate, he puts together quality BP rounds with real offensive-impact potential and a solid, developing approach. He continues to make steady strides in his overall game.
