Dakotas - As we head into 2026, Prep Baseball Dakotas took an in-depth look at the numbers collected from our events throughout the past year. 2025 was an outstanding year as we continued our mission to help players across the state reach the next level—providing a platform to showcase their abilities and be seen by college programs nationwide. More than 900 colleges and professional teams subscribe to Prep Baseball’s services.

Today we look at the best uncommitted pitchers from the classes of 2026, 2027, 2028 and 2029.

BEST UNCOMMITTED CLASS OF 2026

Carson Shiek RHP / 3B / Fargo South, ND / 2026

Shiek brings a projectable 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame that has continued to mature over the last few years. The arm works well, producing a mid-80s fastball with room for future jumps. Currently ranked eighth among arms in the Dakotas, he also shows promise with the bat and offers defensive versatility, adding value beyond the mound.

Caden Rademacher. RHP / SS / HORACE HIGH SCHOOL, ND / 2026

Alijah Ballard LHP / Douglas, SD / 2026

BEST UNCOMMITTED CLASS OF 2027

Caden Nelson RHP / 3B / South High School, ND / 2027

Ranked second overall in the Dakotas, Nelson earned a Future Games invite last summer and impressed in Georgia. A highly projectable arm, he runs his fastball into the low 90s and pairs it with an above-average slider that drew immediate college attention. Nelson’s upside makes him the premier uncommitted arm in the Dakotas.

Kade Wede RHP / 3B / Harrisburg High School - 01, SD / 2027

Wede is an upper-80s arm with the ability to command multiple pitches around the zone. Built with a strong 6-foot, 200-pound frame, he is just beginning to tap into his ceiling. A Future Games participant and the third-ranked player in the Dakotas, Wede remains one of the more intriguing available arms in the region.

Jack Tooke RHP / SS / Mandan High School, ND / 2027

Tooke brings two-way appeal. On the mound, he works with an upper-80s fastball, a slider with feel, and a split/change mix that keeps hitters off balance. His frame has room for added strength, and his athleticism plays well on the mound. Offensively, he shows flashes of a physical, impactful bat, giving programs multiple pathways to value.

BEST UNCOMMITTED CLASS OF 2028

Cameron Stahl RHP / OF / Horace, ND / 2028

Stahl’s big frame and live arm make him a standout in the Dakotas 2028 class. His lone appearance came last March in the preseason, where he impressed with a mid-80s fastball that touched 87 mph. With size, strength, and arm talent, Stahl offers plenty to like moving forward.

Tucker Waddell SS / RHP / Stevens High School - 42, SD / 2028

Waddell showcased well at the Super Sophomore event last August and established himself as a young arm to keep tabs on in the Dakotas. He currently works in the low to mid-80s with feel for his off-speed offerings. The bat also shows promise, giving him two-way intrigue. An exciting young prospect out of South Dakota.

Boston Den Boer RHP / OF / O'Gorman High School, SD / 2028

BEST UNCOMMITTED CLASS OF 2029

Steven Solano RHP / OF / Rapid City Central, SD / 2029
