Power Rankings: 2027 Right-Handers
December 11, 2025
As we lead up to our end of year update, our staff hints at impending moves with the release of our position rankings for each position in the class as our board stands at the conclusion of the fall. This class has already seen 36 players make verbal commitments now that the recruiting period has aged just over three months.
Velocity is certainly a factor in creating this list, with every arm in the T25 to follow boasting a recorded 87-or-better, and nearly half (12/25) the list offering 90-or-better, it is not the end all be all - but rather a part of the equation. As the game has trended at the highest of levels, the separator between many of these arms (who already throw hard) is the secondary offerings that they bring to the table. Projectability, or the room for growth within the frame/operation/arm action, is a major contributor, along with the ability to consistently throw the ball over the plate. All the traits put together comprise a starters' profile which is truly our most valued trait when evaluating right-handed arms at the prep level.

Elijah Hall RHP / Noblesville High School, IN / 2027+ Athletic, 6-foot-2, 195-pounder who we have a long track record with of being in the zone on a day-in, day-out basis. Fastball was up to 91 in the spring of 2025, pitches consistently in the upper-80s with cut/ride properties. 11/5 shaped breaking ball plays with top-down bite, spinning in the 2500s, while tunneling well off his fastball. His low-80s change is a weapon, as well, and he's comfortable going right-on-right with it. Hall stands as one of the more reliable arms on this list, boasting a mature three-pitch mix, well-above average control, and a frame that is equally projectable as it is presently athletic. *17 IP for Noblesville last spring, 30 strikeouts to just 11 walks while posting a sub-3 ERA. |
Chase Gothrup RHP / William Henry Harrison High School, IN / 2027+ From 2025 Future Games: Chase Gothrup followed with one of the better outings of the weekend, facing just (7) hitters in his scoreless pair of frames. Gothrup pitched at 86-88, touching 89, and firing strikes to both sides of the plate with quality feel. His low-to-mid 70s CB spun north of 2700 routinely and played with bite and 11/5 shape. The CB is the best pitch here, but he also showed CH feel with that offering playing at 81-82 with sink. It is a polished operation with a clean arm working well on the backside, and he repeats very well. One of the higher floor, most-productive arms on the roster and he showed just that in Atlanta. *Was among the 4A sophomore state leaders in virtually every statistical category last spring, posting: a 6-1 record, a 1.17 ERA, a sub-1 WHIP, 11 walks to 43 strikeouts, in 42 IP. |

Lucas Haas RHP / Valparaiso High School, IN / 2027+ From 2025 Future Games: Lucas Haas started night 2 with as silky of a look as any arm that Indiana rolled out on the week. Oozing projection in a 6-foot-3, 165 pound frame - Haas fired 86-88 mph bullets from a full-circle, clean arm action and topped at 89 mph in his two innings of work. The in-line, downhill nature of the delivery allowed the right-hander to play the fastball above its velocities with an average of 6'8 extension. Haas threw a slider that played with short sweep at 76-79 and also showed changeup feel. The changeup is sold with fastball arm speed and plays with heavy fade at 81-82 and for flashes it shows as a really interesting offering. There is starters' upside to enjoy and dream upon. Strength is likely to bring big velocity gains and clean up some occasional scatter, though there is average control present to build upon. |
Jack Kunas RHP / Munster, IN / 2027+ From 2025 Fall State Games: Kunas is a fast-rising arm from the region who showed off big fastball jumps during a dominant outing at the State Games. There is a loose whip to the arm stroke with projections remaining in the 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame, presently producing a heater that abused the opposition while playing 85-88 mph. There was some manipulation to the fastball, sinking it at the bottom while creating some lift up top, playing it up with big extension as his long-levers got down the mound well. There were flashes of an above average breaking ball, showing some sweep on a low-70s offering while also showing an upper-70s change. He controlled three, allowing the starters' tab to stay on, and he could really continue to elevate if the breaking ball ticks up a grade consistently. Regardless, Kunas leaves as the biggest winner amongst '27 P's, cementing himself as a 'Name-to-Know' uncommitted arm in the class. *Pitched to a 2.73 ERA as a sophomore for Munster; 2/1 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 33.1 IP |
Jaylen Wells-Henderson RHP / New Albany Senior High School, IN / 2027+ From 2025 Fall State Games: In my evals, this was the highest ceiling '27 arm at the event, and he showed hints of that ceiling throughout his stint this past weekend. Easily filling the zone at 84-87 with a fastball that averaged 16" of IVB, an evaluator in attendance made the comment "this kid could throw 3 mph harder right now" - and that comment stuck with me. While the radar gun is often the measuring stick, velocity is arguably the easiest thing we can develop, and there is truly a lot left in the tank with this young-for-class prospect. Regardless, his ability to compete over the white with the heater, and the athleticism/upside in the frame is what I value most. Jaylen flashed a tight, firm, short slider at 78-81 mph that was his go-to secondary offering, also showing a gradual, low-70s CB, and a usable change at 78-79. *Struck out 35 to 21 walks in 33.1 IP as a sophomore. Also a decorated long jumper. |
Gavin Markus RHP / Greenfield-Central High School, IN / 2027+ From 2025 Future Games: Gavin Markus showed an upside look with an athletic drop-and-drive delivery that produced above-average extension on a fastball that played in the mid-80s, up to 87, with real lift at times - reaching a peak IVB of 24". His secondaries included both a CB and SL that played in the low-to-mid 70s with quality movements plots on each, including sweeping the slider up to 20" at times. He showed an above average change at 76, as well, to round out a starters' mix. There is big athleticism and feel to suggest a real velo jump could be looming, and he was able to get through a pair of innings in this stint with no hits and no runs allowed, though he did scatter at times working around walks. *Struck out 51 in 38.2 IP as a sophomore, walked 28. |
Carson Cauley RHP / Pendleton Heights High School, IN / 2027+ From 2025 Future Games: Carson Cauley concluded the weekend by taking the ball and intriguing recruiters with a projectable, 6-foot-6, 185 pound frame. His 84-87 fastball played with a foot and a half of horizontal break arm-side, a turbo look at times to go with above-average extension to play it up. He spun the breaking ball at 70-74, an upside offering that he landed and spun well. Far from a finished product, Cauley is a high follow arm in this class with a chance to make strides quickly, and allowed one run in his pair of frames while showing flashes of a synced-up, high-ceiling look. Added strength with help long levers repeat more consistently. *Stuff varied throughout 2025, was into the upper-80s (T 89) in the spring, saw him hold 86-87 in the '25 fall. Struck out 28 last spring in 16.1 IP, allowed 15 walks. |
Alex Gilliam RHP / Center Grove, IN / 2027+ Bringing of the quickest right arms in the class, Gilliam brings electric stuff with real explosive twitch within his 5-foot-8, 180-pound frame. The heater reached 91 last spring and plays consistently in the 87-90 range. He locates the heater effectively and is able to pitch off of it, while flashing a wipeout upper-70s slider that plays with sweep and occasional late depth. There is an ability to turnover a low-80s change, but is generally more two-pitch. One of the top overall athletes amongst this crop of arms. *Struck out 25 in 22.1 IP for CG last spring, allowed just 13 walks. |
Henry Haley RHP / Cathedral High School, IN / 2027+ From 2025 Grand Park Fall Championships: Riser after a strong spring/summer. Some explosiveness/twitch to the 6-foot, 185-pound frame. Showed a fastball up to 89 (sat 85-88) with his traditional well-above average CH and also showed a new-and-improved breaking ball that played with true 12/6 shape and spun in the 2500s. Consistently competes in the zone with a chance to start. *Struck out 27 in 23.2 IP as a sophomore, walked just 13. |
Logan Robe RHP / Westfield, IN / 2027+ From 2025 Future Games: Logan Robe pitched the 5th and 6th inning of night two and brought a firm fastball with him. Robe pitched at 89-91 from a short, compact arm stroke that showed flashes of a power look. When synced - he brought some of the more electric stuff on staff, ripping heavy low-90s heaters (T92) at 2400+ with a tight, short slider at 77-80 to pair. The overall control was inconsistent but there is a sense of rawness to the delivery, and strengh to still be gained, that could easily tighten up this operation when this class gets to their senior year. Robe's outing looked the part of a strong follow with a chance to be one of the hardest throwers of the bunch. *Struck out 15 in 8.1 IP, allowed 14 free passes. |
Lucas Collins RHP / Garrett High School, IN / 2027+ From 2025 Fall State Games: Continuing to show one of the classes' best fastballs, Collins was dominant in his stint at the State Games, racking up swings-and-misses and several punchouts in his 2 innings of work. With some present physicality to the 6-foot-1, 195-pound frame - Collins pitched at 89-90, touching 91 on his best bullet, with arm-side run and sink created from a low 3/4 slot. He challenged east to west with his 75-78 SL playing off the fastball with a sweeper look, and he flashed an above average change in the mid-80s that played sinker-like. Collins outing was a perfect summation of his ceiling, a reliever who could easily find a niche as a 'one time thru the order' type arm that provides a mix of unique and power to quiet opposing lineups. *Struck out 78 in 41.1 IP, allowed 43 free passes. |
Connor Christiansen RHP / Cathedral High School, IN / 2027+ From 2025 Grand Park Fall Championships: Flat-out dominated a good club in pool play for a no-hit performance. Athletic, stretch 6-footer with an efficient, athletic delivery and clean, full, quick arm on the backside. Pitched at 85-88 with significant arm side life on a heater that touched 89 a handful of times. Also spun a sharp, mid-to-upper 70s slider that is an easy above average offering while showing a 76-78 CH with similiar grades. *Maintained a 4-0 record as a sophomore with a sub-3 ERA, struck out 23 in 28.1 IP with 25 free passes. |
Griffin Snider RHP / Noblesville High School, IN / 2027+ From 2025 Top Prospect Games: Snider also showed wipeout flashes, especially versus right-handed hitters. The 6-foot-4, 185 frame is packed with lean muscle and likely holds room for more, and it produced an 87-89 fastball that also worked up to 90 mph. He swept his breaking ball at 76-78, averaging 2633 rpm, and missed a ton of bats with it. There were some inconsistencies in his outing that leads to a relief profile, but there are wipeout flashes within the arsenal and a clean arm / good athlete adds even more intrigue. * 5/7 strikeout-to-walk in 3.2 IP last spring. |
Luke Haley RHP / Homestead Senior High School, IN / 2027+ From 2025 Grand Park Fall Championships: 6-foot-2, 190-pound wiry frame w some projection left. Showing off velo jumps at this event while looking the part of a strong follow moving forward. Fastball played at 86-88 with some arm side life at times, and occasional cut misses. 72-75 SL showed upside as an above average offering but was inconsistent in total. Loose, 1-piece takeaway with front hip working open at times that led to command troubles. * 2-0 record with a 0.00 ERA for Homestead last spring, 2/1 K-to-BB/HBP in 11 IP. |
Brady Keck RHP / Snider Fort Wayne , IN / 2027+ From 2025 Preseason All-State: Keck has consistently shown one of the strongest arms in the class since our earliest evals on this group, and his overall feel has taken a step up since last summers' appearance at the Top Prospect Games North, along with a slight tick up in velocity to now reach into the 90s on his best bullet. The delivery still has some levers flying around but the arm gets deep into scap retraction allowing it time to pick up speed as it gets to an OTT slot. The fastball came out at 87-90 with occasional arm-side run. His slider is loose with big, slurvey shape at 72-75, and he showed feel to land it. The change is developing at 75-78. He profiles as a back-end bullpen arm w big arm strength and two usable, avg to better pitches present. *Struck out 9 in 15 IP as a sophomore with 22 walks. |
