FALL RISERS & BREAKOUTS

Aidan Johnson 1B / RHP / Grain Valley, MO / 2028

Johnson emerged as a name to know with a loud two-way showing earlier this fall at the MO Fall Games in Columbia, where he showcased some of the top tools on the field on both sides of the ball. Long and lean at 6-foot-3, 182 pounds, Johnson flashed raw strength at the plate by producing exit velocities north of 98 mph, and he paired that with a fastball that climbed to 83 mph on the mound. With ample room to continue adding strength and physicality in the coming years, look for Johnson to firmly establish himself among the top young talents in the Kansas City area.

Charles Willie RHP / 1B / De Smet Jesuit, MO / 2028

Another two-way talent, Willie breaks into our 2028 rankings following a strong showing at our Legacy Scout Day in October. The De Smet product has added noticeable strength to his 6-foot-3, 189-pound frame since our last look, impressing on both sides of the ball. At the plate, he reached a peak exit velocity of 97.8 mph, while on the mound he showcased a three-pitch mix highlighted by a fastball up to 85 mph with heavy arm-side action. With continued development, Willie is a name to watch closely in the coming years.

Sam Deibel RHP / SS / MICDS, MO / 2028

Sliding in at No. 38, Deibel makes his rankings debut following an uptick on the mound at our Legacy Scout Day. Featuring a loose, quick arm, he ran his fastball up to 84 mph with plenty of room to add velo. He also showed feel for a 70–73 mph curveball for strikes and a 74–75 mph changeup with an average of 15.3" of arm-side fade, offering swing-and-miss potential. Look for Deibel to make an impact on the mound for the Rams this spring.

Logan Jinkins 3B / RHP / Grain Valley, MO / 2028

Another Grain Valley product making his rankings debut, Jinkins emerged as a two-way prospect following an impressive showing at our Yard Baseball Club Scout Day. Physically advanced at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds, he already displays strength at the plate, producing mid-90s exit velocities. However, his future may shine brightest on the mound, where he showcased a three-pitch mix highlighted by a fastball up to 84 mph and a 2,500+ RPM, -18.9" horizontal movement slider with serious swing-and-miss potential.

Nolan Moellering 1B / 3B / St. John Vianney, MO / 2028

Moellering checks in at No. 42 in this update after delivering one of the loudest rounds of batting practice this fall at the Recruits Scout Day, reaching exit velocities north of triple digits and averaging 91 mph per batted ball. With a lean, long-levered 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame, he offers plenty of upside as he continues to add polish to his game, especially after seeing nearly a 15 mph jump in exit velocity since February.

Nathan Jackson SS / RHP / St. John Vianney, MO / 2028

Jackson impressed across multiple looks this fall at both the MO Fall Games and Legacy Scout Day. The right-handed hitting infielder continues to fill out his 6-foot-2, 173-pound frame and has shown improving sweet spot percentage as he his approach has matured throughout the year. A reliable fielder on the dirt with some arm strength, extra-base hits are expected to come alongside supporting metrics, as he adds strength, making him a prospect to follow as he develops.

Sal Gianino C / RHP / Eureka, MO / 2028

Gianino made a strong impression in his Prep Baseball debut this fall at the Legacy Scout Day, showcasing a well-rounded skill set and plenty of upside in a physical 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame. The right-handed hitter produces effortless power with a simple, low-effort swing that works the ball back through the middle of the field, generating a peak exit velocity of 96 mph. Defensively, the backstop pairs a 75 mph arm with 2.06–2.14 pop times as he looks to contrubute to an always strong Eureka squad this spring.

Jonah Bates C / 1B / Lindbergh, MO / 2028

Another newcomer to our rankings and into the top 50, Bates makes his debut after showing significant jumps in metrics this fall at our St. Louis Fall ID. The Lindbergh backstop added 6 mph to his exit velocity with a refined right-handed swing while also improving his pop time by nearly two-tenths of a second from a strength filled frame.
