Parkwood HS / South Charlotte Scout Day – Event Rewind

The Parkwood HS / South Charlotte Scout Day was held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Parkwood High School, bringing together two events running simultaneously: a Parkwood High School Scout Day featuring players from the host program, and an Open Scout Day available to players from across North Carolina. Together, the workouts provided a comprehensive look at talent from multiple regions in front of Prep Baseball’s scouting staff.

Players opened the day with laser-timed 60-yard dashes, including 10-yard splits, to capture verified acceleration and top-end speed. The offensive workout included multiple rounds of batting practice, with TrackMan collecting ball flight data to evaluate contact quality and power potential. Defensively, players took part in a full positional workout where arm strength, carry, and pop times were recorded. Pitchers closed the day with bullpens, again tracked by TrackMan to gather detailed pitch metrics.

Below, we break down the top performers from both events, highlighting players who made a strong impression with their tools, analytics, and overall projection.

Traditionally, the 60-yard dash has been the in-event standard to help measure a player's speed tool. We implemented timing gates at the 10-yard split, to capture athletes’ quickness, explosiveness and reaction time. From there, we will calculate an athlete’s top-end speed in miles per hour. While the measurement still has its utility, the 10-yard split has started to become more and more applicable in determining the player's burst and reaction time in-game, whether that's in the outfield or on the basepaths.
