Rising Stars on the Radar: 2028 RHP Kayden Wallace (Malvern Prep)

Wallace is a multi-sport athlete that also plays on the Football team at Malvern Prep. This right-handed pitcher boasts a physical build of 6-foot-1 and 196-pound with present lower half strength. Over the summer he made his Prep Baseball debut at the Pennsylvania State Games in Palmyra, Pennsylvania. His impressive performance landed him at 39th overall on the updated Pennsylvania class of 2028 rankings.

On the mound, Wallace flashed a three-pitch arsenal that contains a fastball, slider, and changeup. His fastball sits 83-84 mph and touches 85.2 mph with 22 inches of induced vertical break. The slider is 68-71 mph with close to a spin rate of 2,300 rpm with a late break that dives away from right-handed hitters' barrels. His changeup is 76-79 mph with a moderate amount of horizontal movement, peaking at 15 inches. Wallace works from a slow and controlled wind-up displaying an athletic movement profile. He throws with a shorter arm action and a traditional three-quarter release point.

Overall, Wallace’s combination of physicality, athleticism, and a developing three-pitch mix positions him as one of the more intriguing young arms in Pennsylvania’s 2028 class. His ability to generate velocity with ease, pair it with advanced movement profiles, and maintain body control through a smooth, deliberate delivery speaks to long-term upside. As he continues refining his command and sharpening the feel for his off-speed pitches, his ceiling on the mound only grows higher.
