Who are the top JUCO pitching prospects you've seen this fall?
September 26, 2025
The ‘Hotlist’ is a series that provides weekly insight into the high school baseball scene spanning the country, curated by Prep Baseball’s state directors who are situated nationwide, with vital intel on the prospects who are in their own backyards. Each week, we’ll publish our ‘Hotlist’ on varying topics that are timeliest to the national baseball calendar at that point in time.
This week’s topic: A few weeks ago, we kicked off our JUCO series by spotlighting the top position players our staff had seen this fall. This week, we’re asking for the top JUCO pitcher they've seen recently at a Scout Day or fall event.

♨️ The ‘Hotlist’ (9/26):
Arkansas
+ Jett Sutton, RHP (Mineral Area HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“Long frame with a loose arm and feel to spin a swing and miss breaking ball and locate his fastball throughout the zone. Potential impact arm at the next-level with a clean arm and a breaking ball that can beat hitters in the zone.”
– Josh Fields, Wisconsin Staff
Illinois
+ Josh Marzec, RHP (McHenry County JC HS, Freshman) | Uncommitted:
“Upside 6-foot-3 right-hander with a clean arm with arm speed and a clean/repeatable delivery. Armed with a low-90s fastball, with seemingly more in the tank, while flashing two secondaries that have upside on there own.”
– Josh Fields, Wisconsin Staff
+ David Essien , RHP (Harper JC HS, R-Sophomore ) | Uncommitted :
“Essien exploded onto the scene with arguably the loudest 'pen we have seen so far this fall. The physical 6-foot-3, 220-pound right-hander was up to 96 mph in his showing, jumping from 90 mph when we saw him a year ago. He gets down the mound well and also has big metrics to match the velocity, averaging 19 for his IVB with an average of 2,484 rpm as well. ”
+ Dylan Mannino , RHP (John A. Logan HS, R-Sophomore ) | Uncommitted :
“Mannino looks to be one of the top juco pitching prospects in the Midwest. We recently saw him up to 96 mph with above average spin, pairing with a tight slider and cutter that spins over 2500 rpm at 87-89 mph. We also saw him throw it well in-game at the Puma Classic, where he sat 93-95 mph with the fastball and showed both his SL/CT once again as quality secondaries. He's a workhorse on the mound standing in at 6-foot-4, 225-pounds, and he's coming off a spring in which he fanned 26 batters in 18 innings. ”
– Peter Hamot, Assistant Scouting Director Illinois/Wisconsin
Iowa
+ Isaiah Brennan, RHP (Iowa Central HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“Isaiah Brennan 6'3" 220lb RHP from Iowa Central. We saw him at the Iowa Central Scout Day as well at the ICCAC Showcase. He holds a large mound presence with his shear size and weight but then add in the command of all three pitches with fastball velocity in the mid 90's and it is not a comfortable at bat for both lefties or righties. The fastball holds plane at the top of the zone with a max 22 IVB and an average of 20 IVB, mixed with a mid 70's breaking ball and low 70's changeup he is able to speed up and slow down hitters consistently.”
– Tyler Cropley, Assistant State Director
+ Keaton Fenn, RHP (Southeastern CC HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“Power armed right-hander, returning as the top arm from a talented Southeastern team that has made it to the NJCAA World Series that last few seasons. The fastball has reached the mid-90s on occasion, mostly plays in the low-90s with life. Confident in a firm slider that has gotten swings and miss in game.”
– Josh Fields, Wisconsin Staff
Kansas
+ Stocton Timbrook, RHP (Cloud HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“A consistent strike thrower with a mid 90s fastball that features induced vertical breaks between 20-23. The right-hander also mixed a curveball and splitter to keep hitters off balance. As good as the stuff is Timbrook is just as impressive as a competitor on the mound. ”
+ Sutter Balog, RHP (Pratt Community College HS, R-Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“The 6-foot-2 185-pound Canadian product was a electric as any arm at the KJCCC Showcase featuring a fastball that sat 93-95 that jumped on hitters. The right-hander also spun an advanced upper 70s slider with sweeping action that racked up swings and misses as well as a low spin changeup. ”
+ Chance Acord, RHP (Cowley College HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted :
“A workhorse like frame and mentality, the right-hander made quick work of his 6 hitters in the game at the KJCCC Sophomore Showcase. Attacked the zone early with a FB up to 94 and finished hitters off with a firm changeup and slider. ”
+ Hudson Byrd, RHP (Johnson County Community College HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“The 6-foot-6 195-pound right-handed is one of the most projectable arms in junior college baseball with a whip for an arm and a fastball already up 93 mph. Byrd continues to throw more strikes and with further development of his slider, he could hear his name called in this year's draft. ”
+ Simon Baker, RHP (Cloud County Community College HS, Sophomore ) | Uncommitted:
“Arguably the top position player of the KJCCC Sophomore Showcase, the 6-foot-4, 205-pound right-hander also put himself in the conversation as a draft arm. Throwing from an unique over the top slot, Baker absolutely attacked hitter sitting 91-94 paired with a swing and miss changeup and a consistent breaking ball. ”
+ Haden Arterburn, RHP (Coffeville HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“Arguably best sinker/slider combination of the KJCCC Sophomore Showcase, the righty dominated the zone with not only a sinker but also a 4-seamer and mixed an low 80s slider early and often. Arterburner left hitters walking back to the dugout wandering how they missed barred over and over again. ”
– Andy Urban, Central Region Supervisor
Kentucky
+ Hayden Alexander, LHP (Wabash Valley JC HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“Athletic left-hander with a loose and clean arm and feel for multiple pitches. The fastball plays in the zone, sitting mostly in the low-90s with life and a tight breaking ball to pair.”
– Josh Fields, Wisconsin Staff
Michigan
+ Gavin Harrold, RHP (Jackson College (MI) HS, Freshman) | Uncommitted:

Minnesota
+ Reece Cox, RHP (Dakota County Technical College HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“SO. RHP Reece Cox, all of 6-foot-5 and 205 pounds, moves with a smooth ease that belies the power in his arm. The fastball touched 94.5, settled in the low 90s, and got on hitters in a hurry. He paired it with a mid-70s slider and a changeup in the upper 70s that rounded out a three-pitch mix built for swings and misses.”
+ Noah Sundquist, RHP (Dakota County Technical College HS, Freshman) | Uncommitted:
“FR. RHP Noah Sundquist, a slender 6-foot-3, 190, has wasted no time in turning projection into results. His fastball sat 93, peaked at 94.5, and carried nearly 18 inches of induced vertical break. The slider, 80–81 with spin north of 2400 rpm, bent in and out of the zone, a high-level secondary that made the fastball look even firmer.”
– Andy Judkins, State Director
+ Carter Giesen, RHP (Iowa Central HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“SO. RHP Carter Giesen, 6-foot and 195, moved athletically downhill and pumped life into his fastball, which reached 92.5. He flashed two distinct breaking balls at 81–82, both of which found success, rounding out a strong look.”
+ Isaiah Brennan, RHP (Iowa Central HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“SO. RHP Isaiah Brennan, a sturdy 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, worked a quick inning with three pitches in the zone. His fastball topped at 94.2 with 17 to 20 inches of induced vertical break. The curveball, spinning at over 2500 rpm in the upper 70s, showed bite, while the changeup at 77 carried arm-side fade.”
– Kyle Rodriguez & Parker Hageman
Nebraska
+ Caden Rezac, LHP (Northeast CC HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“LHP Strong durable build. Fastball has been 90+ in showcase and games multiple times this Fall. Spins his breaking balls with 2700+rpms.”
+ Beckett Lund, LHP (Northeast CC HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“Polish with 3 good pitches around the zone. Fastball is up to 91.2 with some life through the zone. Offspeed tunnels well out of his hand, Ch has deceptive late fade arm side.”
+ Beau Pasteur, RHP ( Northeast CC HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“Tough low 3/4 slot with late arm side movement to his fastball. Getting up to 88.8 at the Prep Baseball Iowa ICCAC Showcase in Mid September. Also spun a sweepin slider with 2900+rpms.”
– Pascal Paul, Nebraska Scouting Director
Oklahoma
+ Collin Berry, LHP (NOC Tonkawa HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“Berry showed command of his entire 3-pitch mix at the NOC Tonkawa Scout Day. The fastball works comfortably into the upper 80s and consistently finds the bottom of the zone. The difference maker has been the feel for the secondary offerings of both the slider and the changeup. The slider works 79-80 mph, had a 100% zone percentage throughout the pen, and deception with limited IVB. Further, the changeup's metrics showcase the deception and the weapon that it is to opposing hitters. The offering had a max of 2.8" IVB and max of -18.5" HM showing the ability to miss RHH's barrels without the ball jumping out of hand. The left hander will start for Tonkawa at the KC JUCO Showcase on 9/25 in Game 1.”
+ Bennett Percival, RHP (NOC Enid HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“Percival has the ideal starter's build at 6'4" and 215 pounds and shows athleticism working down the mound. The 3-pitch mix of fastball, slider, and changeup have all the makings of a power mix with the fastball working up to 90.5 mph in his bullpen at the NOC Enid Scout Day. The secondary pitches, both the slider and changeup worked into the low 80s and showed the ability to attack both RHH and LHH alike. Percival is a name to know, for 4 year schools at the next level, with a workhorse frame and ability to attack the zone with entire mix.”
– Bret Schwartz, Oklahoma Scouting Director
Ontario
+ Noah Marschke, LHP (Jefferson CC HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“Funky lefty with a low-90s fastball that gets on hitters while showing feel for two secondaries that play like potential swing and miss offering. Strikeout stuff with a history of performing as a freshman.”
– Josh Fields, Wisconsin Staff
Wisconsin
+ Noah Marschke, LHP (Madison JC HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“Starters look with feel for the zone to pair with a sharp breaking ball that is a potential out pitch at the next level. It's easy so see more velo in the tank as he continues to fill out his lean 6-foot-3 frame.”
+ Nick Heisl, RHP (Bryant & Stratton JC HS, R-Freshman) | Uncommitted:
“Wiry 6-foot right-hander with innate to spin multiple upside breaking balls. The stuff continues to stand out the fastball reaches the upper-80s with life at the top of the zone and flashed a new changeup this fall. Proving that he can consistent locate each pitch in the zone will cement his status as a starter at the next-level.”
+ Broden Jackson, RHP (Madison JC HS, Sophomore) | Uncommitted:
“Potential power arm with a lively fastball up to 93 mph with two secondaries that he throws with intent. Physical 6-foot-2 workhorse type frame with strength throughout. Turned a number of head during his outing at the PUMA classic, routinely beating hitters in the zone and earning multiple S/M's throughout his outing.”
– Josh Fields, Wisconsin Staff
