Your #1 source for high school baseball coverage is back to work, as PBR Nevada staff continues its "boots on the ground" efforts to bring you the most credible and up to date information on the spring season. PBR Nevada will be covering multiple games a week, bringing to you: game recaps, player spotlights, and updated power rankings.

As we cover the season, we appreciate any and all stats/video recorded, and may be shared to [email protected] to expand our avenues of information consumed. Our ultimate goal is to bring as much exposure to Nevada players and teams possible, any info will be appreciated.

CENTENNIAL (12) - CORONADO (6)

This Top 10 matchup is really the first taste of a playoff preview with bracket seedings starting to become clearer each day and these two teams had just a half game difference in the conference standing between the 3 and 4 seeds. Coronado's day did not start off as planned with their starting pitcher having to be pulled prior to the game due to illness and the Bulldogs capitalized the a 4 run first with Uncommittted senior, Ricky Kurosawa, breaking it open with an RBI single back up the middle, followed by Uncommitted junior, Joel Calderin, bringing in two more with a double to the centerfield wall. Centennial's Uncommitted senior, Bridger Lee, had himself a day at the plate as he has settled into the leadoff role, producing consistently, quality at-bats that came up clutch a handful of times yesterday as he went 2-4 with 3 RBIs while scoring 4 times, earning him Player of the Game honors. The Bulldog bats are coming to life at the right time with five hitters racking up multiple hits in their 12 run effort. Coronado being Coronado, they did not go away quietly with the help of a key 3-run homerun from Uncommitted sophomore OF/LHP and Nevada's #9 ranked 2024, Evan Festa, that brought the Cougars within 2 in the bottom of the 5 seemingly igniting the dugout late in the game. After Centennial answered with 1 in the top of the 6th, Salt Lake CC Signee, Dallin Smith, comes up huge with a solo homerun to bring them back within 2 and primed for a late push. Centennial all but shut the door in the top of the 7th, bringing 10 guys to the plate and putting up another 4 spot to seal the W and solidify their spot a bit more as the 3 seed heading into playoffs.
