What the Numbers Tell Us

The 2028 class remains development-driven, with movement in the rankings often tied to physical growth, role definition, and expanded evaluation opportunities. As underclass prospects, single performances can still carry weight—but each additional look helps stabilize grades and clarify long-term projection.

Many of the newest additions and risers were identified through Prep Baseball fall events, including scout days, Fall IDs, Top Prospect Games, and tournament coverage, reinforcing the value of live evaluation and updated player data.

Looking Ahead: 2026 is a Pivotal Year

The 2026 calendar year will be a defining stretch for the 2028 class. Preseason events will jump-start the evaluation cycle, followed by a spring filled with in-game looks and early summer exposure. Together, these opportunities will play a major role as players begin positioning themselves for Team North Carolina at the Prep Baseball Future Games—the most prestigious uncommitted scouting event in the country.

Players who separate early through performance, tools, and competitiveness will put themselves firmly on the follow list as the summer approaches.
