Kansas picked up two 2017 recruits this week in LHP/1B Daniel Hegarty (Blue Valley HS, KS) and OF Blaine Ray (Ottawa HS, KS). Hegarty has a tall set-up at the plate with loose hands and leverage in his swing. He sits 79-81 mph on the mound now and throws a lot of strikes. Ray is athletic with good speed, posting a 6.85-second 60. He’s balanced in the box and keeps the barrel in the zone.
