Prep Baseball Strengthens Texas Presence, Names Kyle Kilgo as South Texas Area Scout

By Prep Baseball Staff

Prep Baseball is proud to welcome Kyle Kilgo as our new South Texas area scout, effective immediately. Based in the Houston area, Kilgo brings more than 16 years of college coaching experience and a proven track record of player development to Prep Baseball’s growing Texas operation.

Kilgo’s hire represents the next step in Prep Baseball’s commitment to providing unmatched coverage across a state renowned for its baseball tradition. Prep Baseball is expanding its footprint in Texas by installing a dedicated presence in Houston specifically – one of the most influential baseball hubs in the country.

“I couldn’t be more excited that Kyle Kilgo is on our team,” said Prep Baseball President Sean Duncan. “His roots run thick and deep across Texas; he’s a winner, on and off the field, and has a keen scouting eye. Kyle has a tireless work ethic and, above all, has a passion for helping players in their baseball journey. His knowledge and energy will resonate, which will ultimately benefit all the players, parents and coaches across Texas.”

Over his coaching career, Kilgo has helped guide more than 60 players to Division I programs and played a key role in the development of 13 MLB Draft selections. His background includes stops at the University of Louisiana-Monroe, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and Hill Community College in Hillsboro, Texas, where he became known for pairing a traditional scouting eye with advanced performance analytics and data-driven evaluation tools.

“I am extremely excited to be working directly with Prep Baseball,” Kilgo said. “It is a storied company that has delivered a first-class product to players and coaches across the nation.”

As South Texas area scout, Kilgo will lead Prep Baseball’s scouting coverage, events, and player evaluations in the Houston area and surrounding regions. He will be active immediately, beginning with Prep Baseball events in September.
