2026 Rankings Update: Fall of 2025
August 27, 2025
As the 2026s head back to school as seniors, our rankings list for that class is due for an update with our staff locking in on this talented group all summer long. There are 85-plus college commitments from this group, with nearly 50 of those to division ones, while the top prospects in this class were put under the microscope this summer by professional scouts on the circuit with our boots-on-the-ground staff alongside. Still plenty of commitments are to-be made during the ever-important fall recruiting period that is coming soon, also a time for the highest-end prospects in the class to grab helium as they head towards their draft spring. Find our full list below, a big board heading into the fall, followed by a draft stock report, and a spotlight on the six uncommitted names who find themselves inside the top 50 heading into the fall.

Stock Report
Each year, the state of Indiana will have ~20+ high school players who get scouted by professional baseball scouts throughout the fall, winter, and spring of their senior year. Some will elect to uphold their college commitment, leaving money on the table until later (hopefully), while some are eager to ink contracts and begin their pro career. The 2026s enter their draft year and this is where we stand with them...
Arms Race
+ Matthew Fisher inked a $1.25 million dollar contract after his selection in the 2025 draft, joining Alex Barr and Josh Flores as Indiana preps to sign professionally. Indiana has had a high school pitcher sign in each of the last four drafts, and Gannon Grant enters in poll position as our favorite to extend that. Grant enjoys a rise to the No. 2 spot overall in this update and debuts as the top-ranked arm in the class. Grant, a Tennessee commit, has Day 1 upside next spring with a seven figure bonus within his grasps if he can replicate what he did on the circuit this summer for Keith Hatfield and the Center Grove Trojans next spring.

+ A familiar grouping resides at No. 5 through No. 8 on the overall list, the tier of '1B' pitching prospects as the list stands now: RHP Hudson Devaughan (Mooresville; Alabama), RHP Sammy Swank (McCutcheon; Kentucky), RHP Aiden Smith (Shelbyville; Kentucky), and LHP Beckett Doane (Shelbyville; Mississippi State). All four arms are committed to SEC programs, but our staff looks forward to watching this race play out and see which of these four seperates themselves from the pack this fall and into next spring.
+ One arm nearing this tier after a big summer, however, is RHP Jaxon Lueken (Forest Park). The Indiana recruit sees a slight rise in this update, now No. 12 overall, after touching 95 mph at the NPI this summer. A multi-sport athlete with a big ceiling, Lueken feels like a potential spring helium candidate that could push the four 'more-famous' names above. Another prospect with helium traits is RHP Logan Johnston (Crown Point) at No. 13 overall. The 6-foot-6 Indiana recruit will be the likely ace and form a three-headed monster with Dunlap and Matusak on a Crown Point club that will be heavily scouted next spring. Alabama commit, RHP Tate Troxell (Guerin Catholic), follows close behind at No. 14 - rising after a strong summer and All-State spring.

Region Reload
+ The Region boasted several of the top 2025 grads, and the area reloads for 2026 to boast 4 of the top 5 ranked position players in the state. C/CF Sean Dunlap (Crown Point; Tennessee) remains as the top-ranked player in the class and is a Day 1 hopeful as he enters his senior season. He headlines the state, and the region, but is followed closely by SS Dylan Bowen (Hanover Central; Oklahoma State) - the No. 3 overall player in the class and the top-ranked shortstop. Close behind Bowen at No. 4 overall is Kentucky commit and Chesterton product, CF Rob Czarniecki, who is also the top-ranked player at his position for the class. These three names will attract plenty of attention to the Region next spring, and SS/P Caden Matusak (Crown Point; Michigan) will also look to soak some of those looks up after continuing to rise our board in 2025. Matusak sees his name etched in the top 10 for the first time in this update and looks to join in what should be an epic batting title race in the Region-area next spring.

+ Two corner infielders, both committed to Indiana, Aiden Reynolds (No. 9) and Jake Winger (No. 11), join CF Dez Francis (Park Tudor; Notre Dame) and the names above as prospects ranked inside the top 15 in this update. SS Lannon Nicoloff (Harrison; George Mason) and SS Peyton Gray (Heritage Hills; Western Kentucky) are tiered inside the top 20, while OF's Ian Taylor (Guerin Catholic; George Mason) and summer riser Blake Cope (Zionsville; Wichita State) find themselves inside the top 30.
Uncommitted in the T50

Jake Mazzier RHP / Gibson Southern, IN / 2026*Updated Ranking // #43 overall, #1 uncommitted, #16 RHP* + 6-foot-1, 175 pounds. Athletic. FB: 88-90 T 91 (2200s) + Athletic righty that can get swing and miss with a quality two-pitch (FB/SLV) combo. Confident, competitive presence. Projects as a back-end bullpen piece. Top uncommitted player remaining on our board. |

Jerron Miles SS / Silver Creek High School, IN / 2026*Updated Rank // #44 overall, #2 uncommitted, #8 SS* + From (Spring Scout Blog) - The 6-foot-3, 185 pound athlete showed good actions during I/O at SS with a loose arm that played with carry across. He DH’d in this look hitting out of the Silver Creek three hole, didn’t do any real damage but reached base via BB. Very projectable body and can dream about power potential. High follow. |

Colt DeHart OF / RHP / Indian Creek Sr High School, IN / 2026*Updated Rank // #45 overall, #3 uncommitted, #8 OF* + From (Spring Scout Blog) - It was good to get some at-bats on Dehart as he returns from injury and he looks comfortable against upper-80s velocities in this look. He flew out to the track backside & pull-side, while also collected a scolded RBI 2B that he flicked to his backside gap. It is a fluid operation at the dish with his power beginning to shine, and even more on the way. He showed the twitch to catch up to velocity and as he finishes his rehab and gets back to 100% full health it likely ticks further, as well. He DH'd on this night - but the arm is an above average tool that also plays into the upper-80s on the bump. |

Nathan Sutherlin SS / Greencastle High School, IN / 2026*Updated Ranking // #48 overall, #4 uncommitted, #10 SS* + From (Spring Scout Blog) - Sutherlin has been swinging a hot bat this spring and through 14 GP: .510 avg, 6 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR. He is a 6-foot-3, 195 pound athlete playing in the middle with serviceable actions and above average arm strength, with a chance to polish and stick on the left-side long-term. The bat is the carrying tool and was on display on this night. He sets up in a tall, open stance with a rhythmic move to time and trigger. He is controlling his weight better this spring, something that I think is attributed to the obvious strength gains he added this winter. The swing works on a shorter path and he flashes the ability to match plane for G2G power. He is an average runner, but the hit tool establishes a safe floor and the body projects to add even more strength that should continue to louden the hit tool. |

Tight, compact, clean arm action with a simple, athletic delivery. Also standout basketball player and All-State performer as a junior as a position player. Strike-throwing nature and present above average stuff establishes a safe floor, athletic capabilities bring intirguing upside. |

Luke Freel RHP / Bloomington North, IN / 2026*Updated Ranking // #50 overall, #6 uncommitted, #20 RHP* + Athletic, 6-foot, 175 pound frame. FB: 86-89 (2200s, some arm side life) + Low-pulse compeitior who floodes the zone with four pitches. Fastball can go to both sides with repeatable arm action and delivery. Truly can manipulate spin for two distinct pitches. SP projections. |
