Dothan Summer ID: Quick Hits
July 18, 2025
DOTHAN, AL - The Dothan Summer ID was held on Wednesday, July 16th at Wallace-Dothan Community College in Dothan, AL. This event was an open event that consisted of prospects from the 2026-2030 classes. These players went through an pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman and Blast Motion, defensive workout, Vizual Edge testing, and more. Pitchers were able to throw in simulated bullpens during the workout and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Wednesday.
Continuing our post-event coverage for this event, we take a look back at some of the top performers from the showcase. Please continue to check back over the next week, as we will release other leaderboards and individual scouting reports on each player present at the event.

+ RHP Bryant Hopkins (Valley, 2027) emerged as one of the clear-cut winners from the event showcasing some big-time metrics to his four-pitch reportoire. A medium 6-foot, 179-pounder, Hopkins showed a smooth, repeatable delivery with some ease of effort to the operation while sitting comfortably at 84-87 mph and topping at 87.6 mph with natural arm-side action from a H 3/4 slot release. While the fastball velocity catches attention, both breaking balls showed as the best secondary pitches from the event with high spin rates and horizontal action metrics. With two distinct shapes, the SL spins 71-74 mph with T3047 RPM and slurvy shape, while the CB has more 12-6 bite at 69-70 mph and T2827 RPM. Also showed an 80-81 mph CH with arm-side fade. Impressive four-pitch mix and stuff to build on.
+ RHP Ty McGinley (Fairhope, 2027) was another impressive rising junior in attendance who displayed quality components to build on on the mound. Listed at 6-foot-2, 178-pounds, McGinley has an athletic, high-waisted build with room to add and projection. The right-hander peppered the zone at 87-88 mph with tailing action, while mixing in a tight-spinning 76-78 mph SL that showed downer, 11-5 shape and tunnels well off the FB. The operation is clean with low-effort intent coming out of a H 3/4 arm slot. Another intriguing RHP in Alabama's 2027 class to follow.
+ C/RHP Jeremy Menhennett (Mary G. Montgomery, 2027) put a strong baseline of tools on full display on both sides of the ball in a standout showing at the event. A 5-foot-11, 206-pounder with proportional physical strength, Menhennett is an advanced, physical right-handed bat with easy gap-to-gap strength in the barrel, peaking at 101.3 mph during his round of BP. Showcases big bat speed on an upward path with loud exits off. Up to 93 mph from the OF and 81 mph from C. Also hopped on the mound and topped at 87.4 mph with an avg. of 18.5 in. of IVB, allowing the ball to play up when elevated. SL shows swing-and-miss traits at 77-79 mph with hard, late 11-5 bite and spin rates peaking at 2901 RPM.
+ RHP/3B Cooper Frampton (St. Luke's Episcopal, 2027) certainly passes the eye test with a 6-foot-4, 212-pound build that possesses immense physical strength. With the ability to make an impact on both sides of the ball, Frampton has an intriguing upside as both a positional player and an arm. The swing works on an upward path with a strong incorporation of the lower-half, allowing him to impact the baseball to the pull-side at a high level. Posted a 101.1 mph EV during BP with the power being the offensive carrying tool right now. On the mound, he's equally as impressive, sitting 84-87 mph and topped at 87.3 mph with the FB. Features a 3/4 arm slot that produces arm-side run/sink. CB spins well at 72-73 mph with sharp horizontal bite and T2497 RPM. Plenty to dream on on both sides of the ball.
+ OF Dorsett Jackson (Prattville, 2026) is one of the more athletic prospects in Alabama's rising senior class, and while he wasn't able to run the 60 YD due to weather, the West Alabama recruit still showed what makes him one of the top outfielders in the class. Listed at 6-foot-0, 170-pounds, Jackson has an active stance and rhythmic operation from the left side of the plate to help him get on-time with each swing. The hands are quick through the zone and help work the barrel on slightly-upward path through contact with quality strength at impact, evidenced by a 96.2 mph EV during his round of BP. A true center fielder who can go get it in the grass, and has an arm that worked up to 92 mph during the defensive workout.
+ C Perrin Gomez (Dothan, 2026) is a talented under-the-radar uncommitted backstop in Alabama's 2026 class who is on the heels of a big spring where he was named to 2nd Team Class 7A-All-State Team after hitting .395 as a junior. A 5-foot-9, 181-pounder, Gomez seems to consistently make hard contact each time we see him, whether it be in-game or in a showcase setting. The operation is simple from the right side of the plate using a direct path to contact and allowing the strength in the frame to do most of the work. He shows present bat speed working on a mostly upward path through contact, and lived gap-to-gap during BP with a top EV of 99.0 mph.
+ SS/RHP Harrison Milanowski (Houston Academy, 2028) continues to show as one of the top middle infielders in Alabama's rising sophomore class. A lean, athletic 5-foot-9, 148-pounder, Milanowski has quick, twitchy actions in the right-handed swing that already showcases an impressive feel for the barrel. Uses a toe-tap trigger for timing with good balance throughout the swing. Impacts it well for his size and age with low-90s exits and a top EV of 96.9 mph. Smooth actions on the INF working up to 90 mph across. Also lived 84-86 mph on the mound while showing an 11-5 CB with quality depth and an arm-side fading CH at 73-75 mph.
