Future Games: Team North Carolina Quick Hitters

The end of July has become one of the most pivotal periods on the amateur baseball recruiting calendar. The Prep Baseball Future Games, held annually at LakePoint in Emerson, GA, brings together the top uncommitted talent from across the country—drawing national attention from college programs coast to coast. With over 400 college coaches expected in attendance, the 2025 Future Games stands as a premier showcase event for aspiring collegiate athletes.

This year’s event once again features a three-tiered structure:

  • The Senior Future Games, spotlighting uncommitted players from the Class of 2026
  • The traditional Future Games, highlighting the Class of 2027
  • And the Junior Future Games, featuring select talent from the 2029 and 2030 classes

The Future Games is the marquee event of the week, drawing over 400 college coaches and scouts again in 2025.  The rising 2027 class was featured this year with a workout day on Wednesday, followed by three days of game play. Team NC showed out with high level college follows and several MLB Draft follows on the roster.

Below, we take a closer look at how the Team North Carolina performed in front of a packed house of college coaches and professional scouts at LakePoint.

QUICK HITTERS: TEAM NORTH CAROLINA OUTFIELDERS

Caleb Lynn, OF, Cleveland HS, 2027

Exceptional athlete with twitch and strength present. Ran a 6.63 sixty on the workout day, with a 3.73 thirty and 1.65 10 yard split. Speed played in the outfield where Lynn showed an ability to track balls into the gap. Hands have an ease through the catch. Arm plays at 85mph from the position. Left handed hitter. Quick, flat, and loud off the barrel throughout BP. Pull side power is apparent. Exit velocity of 95.8mph. In game 3, Lynn doubled off the left field wall and lined out to CF on a ball that registered over 100mph off the bat.

Luke Talley, OF/1B, Green Level HS, 2027

Impressive week at LakePoint. Flashed a ton of barrel feel with excellent rhythm. Direct approach and handsy swing form the left side. Flat through contact. As he adds to his 6-foot, 163 pound frame, we should see the power tool develop and an ability to drive the baseball into each gap. Increased athleticism from a year ago. Ran a 7.01 with a 3.90 thirty yard split. Jumped 27.8 inches. Solid feel for playing a corner outfield. Good hands and feet around the bag at first base. Bat will lead the prospect. As he adds strength to the frame, he could become a premium prospect for schools.

Jaxon Haynes, OF, Providence HS, 2027

Turned a lot of heads during the workout. Good rhythm with long leverage through the baseball. Flat through the zone, the ball had easy carry off the bat. Stands 6-foot-1, 166 pounds. Thin build. Will easily handle weight and strength gains in the years to come, creating a ton of room to his ultimate ceiling. Left handed hitter peaked his exit velocity at 99.6mph with an average of 90.5mph in the BP session. Ran 6.90 on the laser. Just beginning to scrape his potential and already producing in game situations vs. high end arms.

Tanner Williams, OF, Midway HS, 2027

Athletic 3-sport athlete has produced throughout his young high school career. The potential in the frame is beginning to take hold as he is filling out the 6-foot-1, 180 pound build. Strength and quickness present. Natural leverage and lift in the left handed swing, producing solid backspin and carry throughout his BP session. Max exit velocity of 95.6mph during the workout. Carried an average batspeed of 68mph on BLAST in the workout as well. Ran a 6.98 sixty with a 1.69 ten yard split. Vertical jump measured over 29 inches. In game, flashed an ability to stick in centerfield with his combination of quickness and first step carrying him to natural routes.

Brandon Bush, OF, Hoggard HS, 2027

Advanced athlete, he is beginning to see his quickness and strength gains play on the field. Flooded the stat sheet on the workout day, running 6.80 with a 3.85 thirty yard split, maxing his exit velocity at 96.7mph from the right side, and peaking his arm strength at 93mph from the outfield. Simple setup with good rhythm, the swing is repeatable. Flat, works for extension. Produced 3 loud barrels in 3 games with a double in the final game vs. South Carolina. Standing 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, the frame will continue to fill out in the coming years.
