Next week, Prep Baseball PNW sends some of the top 2027 talent in the area to LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, Georgia to play in the coveted Prep Baseball Future Games. The premier event of the summer features some of the best talent in the country, with over 400 players participating in last year's tournament already committed to play college baseball. Today, we release a preview of Team PNW, highlighted by standout athletes on both sides of the baseball. Players are split into pitchers and position players and are listed alphabetically by last name.

Pete Browand C / SS / Peninsula, WA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 6 / POS: 1 Physical 6'1 catcher with line drive approach from the right side. Has posted exit velocities up to 97.2 MPH with a flatter path and present gap power. Arm strength behind the plate. Has played in the INF and pitched in high school action this spring. Junior Future Games alum.

Emmett Brown 1B / RHP / Glacier Peak, WA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 14 / POS: 1 Power hitting first baseman in 6'4, 225 pound frame. Explosive bat and hand speed through the zone. Posted exit velocities up to 104.1 MPH and batted ball distances up to 394 feet this winter. Has run the FB into the upper 80's on the mound as well. Second Team Wesco infielder this spring.

Tanner Davis SS / RHP / Kamiakin, WA / 2027 Put together one of the best ID event showings in Spokane recently, after a fantastic season manning shortstop for Kamiakin. 6.67 runner with 87 MPH throws across the diamond. Quick RH stroke with some gap power. Up to 89 MPH on the mound as well with a three pitch mix.

JT Girod SS / 3B / Central High School, OR / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 3 / POS: 2 OverallRank: 277 / POS: 70 Infielder with some positional versatility on the dirt. Has been near the top of the Oregon player ranks since the inception of the 2027 list. Medium framed athlete with smooth, connected right handed stroke. Smooth defensive actions. Spring was highlighted by winning Prep Baseball's National HS Player of the Week honors this April.

Kyle Goodwin OF / 2B / Jesuit High School, OR / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 21 / POS: 2 Twitchy athlete with ability to play all three outfield positions. Short stride with loopier right handed swing. Contact-oriented approach. Hit over .340 in a deep and talented Jesuit lineup in his sophomore season.

Gino Humphrey OF / South Eugene, OR / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 7 / POS: 1 5'10 athlete with shorter, strong swing path. Bat and hand speed present. Exit velocities up to 102.9 MPH earlier this year. Controlled, deliberate defensive actions. Strong showings both in winter showcase and during in-game look this spring.

Reece Johnson OF / 1B / KINGS WAY CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS, WA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 5 / POS: 2 OverallRank: 324 / POS: 72 Ultra-physical, long-levered 6'4 prospect. Corner OF profile. Always on the barrel with pull-oriented approach. EV's up to 101.3 MPH this winter. Moves well in the outfield with high-slot release and present arm strength.

Landon Klein C / 3B / Snohomish, WA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 8 / POS: 2 One of the biggest breakout performers at PNW Preseason All-State. 6.69 runner in the 60 with quickness defensively. Posted a 1.90 second pop time. Some loft in fluid RH swing. Produced a fantanstic spring season for Snohomish and earned Prep Baseball's 4A/3A Second Team All-State honors as a result.

Diego Lopez SS / 2B / Ridgeview, OR / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 13 / POS: 5 Compact-framed player with sound, fundamental game. Smooth defensive actions to stick on the dirt. 7 second runner. Hands lead the way in swing, starting lower with direct path to contact. Repeatable swing operation.

Cooper McGowan SS / 2B / Battle Ground High School, WA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 10 / POS: 3 Consistent, smooth swing from the right side with line drive approach. Developing strength in recent months has led to more in-game power. Defensive skill to stick on the dirt. Projectable, lean 6'2 frame. Junior Future Games alum.

Luke Overbay OF / 3B / Tumwater, WA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 9 / POS: 4 Plenty of raw strength present with upside on both sides of the baseball. 6'4, 190 pound frame looks the part of an impact corner OF bat, with exit velocities up to 101 MPH this winter. Throws up to 88 MPH from the outfield and can cover ground. Mid-80's FB with some sink from the right side. High upside.

William Prinz OF / RHP / Bishop Blanchet, WA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 7 / POS: 3 Athletic 6'0, 185 pound player. 6.75 runner with shorter, powerful strides. Sudden, tight turn from the right side of the plate. Exit velocities into the upper 90's. Can run the FB into the mid-80's for strikes on the mound. First-team All-Metro selection this spring.

Grayson Turnbow SS / OF / Tahoma, WA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 32 / POS: 8 Versatile defender can play nearly anywhere in the field, while providing some speed and bat-to-ball skills from the left side of the dish. Steeper stroke with upright posture yielded positive results in a look this spring. 6.9 runner, exit velocities up to 96.1 MPH.

Jack Brauckmiller RHP / OF / Canby, OR / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 17 / POS: 5 Ultra-long, lean 6'6 frame. High-slot release with easy extension down the mound. Has run the FB into the mid-to-upper 80's. Multi-sport athlete. First Team All-League pitcher in his sophomore campaign. Junior Future Games alum.

Harrison Buckingham RHP / 3B / South Salem, OR / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 4 / POS: 1 OverallRank: 291 / POS: 73 Showcased one of the best arsenal's at this winter's PNW Preseason All-State, running his FB into the low 90's for strikes with nearly 2400 average RPM on the offering. Firm SL averaging 2660 RPM is main secondary offering. CH in the low-80's rounds out arsenal. Posted a productive sophomore season for a South Salem side that finished 29-1.

Talon Coker RHP / OF / Tahoma, WA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 12 / POS: 3 High-upside arm has shown steady improvements through the last calendar year. Projectable 6'3, 185 pound frame with room to add. Continuous arm stroke with high-slot release. FB into the upper 80's. Throws strikes. Part of a deep and talented Tahoma pitching staff. Exciting talent.

Rylan Howe RHP / Union, WA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 1 / POS: 1 OverallRank: 132 / POS: 30 The top-ranked player in Washington's 2027 class. Impressed with ability to fill up the zone in winter bullpen look, topping out at 91 MPH. Room to add in 6'5 frame. High 3/4 slot release with quickness out front. Posted a 1.18 ERA with 32 K and just 4 walks in his sophomore HS season.

Leyton Hurley RHP / C / University, WA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 11 / POS: 2 Strong, medium framed athlete had a great bullpen in Moses Lake, running the FB up to 90 MPH with a strong CH/CB offspeed combination. Quick tempo with repeatable operation. Also a sound catcher defensively with 1.93 second pop time.

Marcus Kim RHP / 3B / North Kitsap, WA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 17 / POS: 5 6'0 athlete with clean mechanical operation. Late intent down the mound with longer, loose high 3/4 slot release. Seen up into the upper 80's with the FB. CH/SL offspeed combination. Worked back from injury this spring and has looked sharp in recent weeks.

Cade King RHP / OF / Clackamas, OR / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 6 / POS: 2 One of two Clackamas arms that had electric bullpens in Corvallis this winter. 6'3 righty has starters profile with ability to fill up the zone and a four-pitch mix. FB up to 88 MPH from a shorter, tight arm action and balanced finish. Impressed during in-game look as well.

Connor Maynard RHP / OF / Eastlake, WA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 28 / POS: 10 Spring season highlighted by 6 innings of dominant shutout ball seen by Prep Baseball staff. Carried spring momentum into a loud Summer ID bullpen, with a FB sitting 87-90 MPH and topping out at over 2400 RPM. Quick arm with developing secondaries. 6'2 prospect.

Jaxon Wetzler LHP / LHP / Clackamas, OR / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 5 / POS: 1 High-upside lefty impressed in winter and spring looks. High-waised 6'4 frame with steep angle in release. FB up to 87 MPH in the winter from fluid release. CH/SL offspeed combination, with both pitches into the low 80's. Room to fill.
