Colorado 2026 Class Rankings: Summer Update (8/27)

The Colorado 2026 class summer update consists of 185 top players within the state. This group of prospects include some movement at the top, new commits, plenty of actively developing athletes, and a plethora of uncommitted names to know. When creating our rankings, we consider various factors, such as skills, physical abilities, potential, projection, and on-field performance as well.

Ethan Wachsmann RHP / OF / Grandview High School, CO / 2026Wachsmann comes in as the new #1 ranked 2026 prospect in Colorado for this update, and has also made his way into the top 100 of nationally ranked players by Prep Baseball. In spring 2025, Wachsmann continued his momentum from an eye-opening outing at the 2024 Future Games by posting a fastball up to 97 mph during this year's 5A state playoffs. The Wake Forest commit has been actively developing for over a year now and has exceptional feel for spin thanks to around 2,700 rpm on both his fastball and breaking ball. We also saw Wachsmann take another step forward with his arsenal in 2025 as he showcased a +changeup which he was able to use effectively against left-handed bats. Wachsmann racked up 80 Ks across 51.1 innings this spring with 27 hits, 24 walks, and a 1.77 ERA allowed (also pitched a 7-inning, 9 strikeout, no-hit performance). The 6'4'' / 210 Ibs senior is certainly one to watch closely on the draft stock in 2026 as he looks to continue to evolve as one of the top pitching prospects in the region.

Gunnar Garrison RHP / 1B / Eaton, CO / 2026Rankings StateRank: 3 / POS: 3
Garrison is another surging arm right now who has made a jump into the top 5 of the Colorado 2026 class rankings. The durable and strong frame at 6'5'' from Garrison presents a high ceiling, but he is also one of the top competitors on the mound within the state. This spring, the Prep Baseball Colorado staff got a good look at Garrison's advancements as he tossed 6 innings with 8 Ks, 4 hits, zero earned runs, and registered a fastball up to 93 mph against the 2025 4A state champion Golden Demons. Garrison has now been seen up to 94 mph this summer and has since swapped his commitment from BYU to Arizona State. The 2024 Future Games alumni is a nationally ranked pitching prospect who continues to get better each time we see him.

Cole Teltschik C / SS / Discovery Canyon Campus High School, CO / 2026Rankings StateRank: 6 / POS: 1
Teltschik has done nothing but hit since being on the radar in Colorado, and this spring he belted 9 homers to go with a .516 average, 11 doubles, a triple, and a 1.763 OPS across 90 plate appearances. The Missouri State commit also comes with some real tools behind the dish thanks to his 83 mph catcher throwing velocity with a 1.83 top pop time. We also saw Teltschik handle some of Colorado's top arms at the 2024 Future Games with strong receiving and blocking abilities. The 6'2'' / 195 Ibs frame on Teltschik gives him plenty of upside in the box, and he is able to generate some easy pop out of a simple approach with a very low swing and miss rate (just a 6% K rate in spring 2025).

Luc Gaca Thiele 3B / RHP / Fossil Ridge, CO / 2026Rankings StateRank: 7 / POS: 1
Gaca Thiele is another quality hit tool coming out of the state in 2026 as this spring the lefty really broke out with a .538 average, 15 doubles, 3 triples, 3 home runs, 9 stolen bases, and a 1.470 OPS across 108 plate appearances at the 5A level. The Future Games alumni has some dangerous pop to the pull side while he is still able to use his advanced plate coverage to spray the ball all over the field, with a low K rate to boot (10% in spring 2025). Gaca Thiele profiles well in the corner infield and will be taking his swing to Columbia University after next spring.
