VENTURA, CALIF. - The Uncommitted Spotlight Series returns after a jam packed summer of Prep Baseball California events, summer travel baseball, and other opportunities to evaluate players we will be recognizing some of the top remaining uncommitted players around the state. We will be looking at players from the 2026 class and 2027 classes across the upcoming weeks/months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts both through our in person looks at players and/or the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, and VALD Performance provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on an impressive 2027 player who is sure to join our 2027 California rankings after a loud spring and summer. We are looking at SoCal '27 SS/2B Mason Park from Fullerton Union High School in Fullerton, Calif.. Park made his first appearance on the Prep Baseball California platform in 2025 this summer with a standout showing at the OC Summer ID coming off a strong spring performance at Fullerton Union helped to earn him a 2025 California State Games invite where he was consistently one of the best players on the field from the workout day to each of the three games the Orange County based SS played in.

Park has showed off consistently impressive offensive metrics across both events. A RH hitter Park starts with a quiet toe tap load to get to launch before turning quickly into his lower 1/2 to stay behind the baseball at contact while using his legs to help create leverage/loft. Mason shows an a strong ability to generate torque in his swing through his lower 1/2 with a peak rotational acceleration of 18.6 Gs while using quickness in his hands with a 21.7 MPH peak hand speed that combine into intriguing present bat speed metrics up to 75.9 MPH. The consistent and high quality swing for Park combines with a strong feel for timing to reach launch and be on time with his barrel at contact during batting practice to produce max exit velocites up to 98.7 MPH, but even more impressively he hits the ball with authority at a consistent rate averaging 94 MPH on his exit velocity with a max distance of 371' at the CA State Games. The deeper metrics provided by Trackman during batting practice show off the strength of Park's offensive ability including 71% hard hit rate, 75% sweet spot rate while producing 75-100% fly ball/line drive rates across his batting practice sessions.

The offensive profile for Park carries over into game play including this spring at Fullerton Union where he slashed .379/.456/.586 in 30 games with 105 plate apperances and 87 at bats. He showed off a polished approach drawing 14 BBs to just 10 Ks on the spring while flashing the impact in his bat with 13 extra base hits on the year (10 doubles, one triple, two homers) and a total of 33 hits. Park drove in 22 runs on the year while scoring another 20 himself while stealing 12 bases for the year.

Park is compact, but athletically built at 5'9 167.8 lbs. presently and has the room on his frame to add strength in the 10-15 lbs range as he continues to mature while maintaining his athleticism to stay up the middle where he is a dynamic defender. Showing strong athletic traits Park has run 60 times in the 6.87 range while showing burst in the first 10 yards with a 1.57 split that profiles to stay up the middle and the arm strength to stay at SS (89 MPH with carry/accuracy) or be an impact defender at 2B if he should have to move off the spot in the future.

With a strong performance from his JR year high school stats, live looks by our scouting staff, event performances and more there is plenty of reasons for college programs to be jumping into the recruiting mix for Park in the 2027 class.
