On Wednesday, July 2nd, the PB Texas staff traveled to Legacy ranch High School in Liberty Hill, TX, to host both the North Austin Summer ID and the North Austin Summer Rising Stars ID.

19 players made their way to Legacy Ranch and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.

Today, we take a look at the scouting reports for every player in attendance as well as rank the top 7 from the event.

TOP OVERALL PROSPECTS

1. Wyatt Duke, Calallen (TX), 2027
Positional Profile: OF/RHP LHH/OF with great build/frame to add strength in future. Will be steady corner OF. Upside present to bat/power combo, shows hard contact now, with limited use of lower. Opportunities to improve, can develop into hitter with plus power production.
Body: 5-11, 168 pounds. Good build/frame. Lean, width to shoulders and back. Will add more strength with growth and maturity. Good physical projections.
Hit: LHH. Short stride landing with stride foot closed, nice job of getting front hip load. Rotational back foot, works well. Rolls onto side of stride foot limiting use of lower 1/2 and causing balance problem. Back foot rotation stops with rolling onto side of foot, killing lower use as well. Work to stay into ground with foot. Hits into firm front side with body laid back, hit driving body into firm front side with upright posture. Solid position to launch, takes nice path to zone with hands barrel. Uphill path created with body laying back at contact, this is why majority of contact ground ball or fly balls. Swing works, creating upright posture will help swing get on plane. 68.1 mph bat speed with 23g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 101 mph max exit velocity (90.9 avg.); 381-foot max batted distance. Solid bat/power combo in future with adjustments. Shows hard contact now with lower 1/2 that stops working in swing. Solid base and swing to work with and develop.
Arm: RH. OF - 86 mph. Arm works well. Arm speed present. Full arm circle action. Raw arm strength with carry. Ability to throw on a line.
Defense: Moves to ball well. Does a good job fielding off left foot. Has a strong transition into throwing position. Uses momentum well, moving towards the target. Projects to be an above avg HS defender.
Athletic Testing: 7.18 runner in the 60-yard dash; 22.00-inch max vertical jump. Quick start. Good length to strides. Good runner with premium speed. Work on keeping head still with a slight forward tilt.
