The 14th annual Future Games took place on July 22-27 at LakePoint in Emerson, Georgia. Top uncommitted prospects in the classes of 2026 and 2027 participated in one of the most popular events each year.
There were 36 teams, including Team Ohio, with players representing 43 states plus Canadian prospects. Each team played three games the final three days of the event after all position players are put through a showcase workout on Wednesday, the first day of the Future Games.
More than 300 colleges from across the country were looking on as approximately 500 players participated in this year’s event. This year, more than 450 college coaches from all over the country were in attendance.

2025 Future Games: Team Ohio - Talent Continues To Stand Out At The Future Games
EMERSON, Ga. - The Future Games, an event that began in 2011, continues to draw raves.
With more than 400 college coaches on hand for the second year in a row, those in attendance come away impressed.
Kyle Weldon, the Director of Scouting for Prep Baseball Ohio, was one of them.
“This year was the most competitive Future Games in recent memory,” Weldon said. “Thanks to the new recruiting rules, most states had their entire player base to choose from, where in years past a lot of top players would be committed already.
The event is something that is continuously on the mind of those working for every state.
“The players get to represent Ohio and show the rest of the country and college coaches how competitive baseball is in our state,” Weldon explained. “This group of players was scouted for over a year-and-a-half to determine who would be a good representation of our state. It takes a combined effort from everyone on our staff throughout the year to gather and organize information in a way that enables us to make a good decision on a player.”
Weldon was pleased with what he witnessed out of the Ohio squad, which was made up of 25 players from the 2027 class.
“This team was special for us,” Weldon noted. “They’re the first group from Ohio to go down to LakePoint and sweep. Night one got a little shaky on the mound, but our offense did a good job of continuing to apply pressure to Team Michigan throughout the game. Against Kansas our pitching was lights out. We kept their hitters off balance and did plenty at the plate to create some separation in the middle innings of that game. Finishing up with Kentucky, it was back and forth. We gave up the lead late but put enough traffic on the bases in our last trip to the plate to force some runs across and come away with our third win.
“All weekend long we got great performances on the mound and our guys were clutch at the plate,” Weldon continued. “They gelled quickly in the dugout and I think that was a big part of the experience. Winning is fun, and these guys all love to win. One of our biggest criteria in the selection process was finding players who would put winning over everything, we didn’t want a bunch of me-guys in the dugout. This group really understood and embodied what we were hoping to show people about Ohio baseball.”
Interest from coaches has taken place since the event.
“There are players up and down the roster who received calls on Aug 1, some with as many as 30-plus schools in the first 48 hours,” Weldon related. “There’s not a player on this roster that won’t have an opportunity to play Division I baseball at some point, in my opinion.”
While the Future Games for those in the 2027 and 2028 class draws the most attention, the other two events - Senior Future Games for incoming high school seniors and Junior Future Games for those in the 2029 class - also bring their share of interest.
“It was a great event, heavily recruited,” Weldon said of the Senior Future Games, with Ohio part of Team Great Lakes with players also on the roster from Michigan. In addition, there were three pitchers from Ohio that were on Team Canada. “I think there’s an argument to be made that the Senior Future Games is getting enough traction that we should expand it and give every state their own roster.”
The Juniors also drew the attention of Weldon and the Ohio staff.
“It was a fun group, a lot of guys with talent,” Weldon said. “This group will do a lot of maturing in the next few years and will be fun to watch.”
A Prep Baseball thank you to all that participated and a special thanks to the players on Team Ohio that gave their thoughts about the event (including what schools have been in contact with them since Aug. 1):
***** If you were on Team Ohio and did not share your thoughts, feel free to email us and we will get them included within this article.

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights? One of the highlights for me was getting a couple of hits on a big stage like this and making some key plays in the field to help Team Ohio go 3-0 at the Future Games. Being part of those wins and knowing I contributed on both sides of the ball made it even more special.
PBR: Assess your performance. I feel like I showed well overall, but there’s still more work to be done. I was able to stay composed, put the ball in play, and make plays in the field when my team needed them.
PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Ohio and what stood out. Being part of Team Ohio was an honor. Not many kids get this opportunity and I am grateful that God allowed me to do this. What stood out most was how quickly we gelled as a team. Everyone brought energy, and there was a strong sense of pride in representing Ohio. Going 3-0 against that level of competition speaks to how locked in and connected we were from start to finish.
PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event. The competition was amazing. Everyone I’ve met at the Junior Future Games two years ago was there and they all got better. The pitchers brought velocity and sharp off-speed stuff, and the hitters were aggressive and were ready to compete.
PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future? Playing in the Future Games gave me exposure to college programs and showed me what it takes to compete at a national level. It helped build confidence and gave me a taste of what the next level will be like.
PBR: What, if any, college coaches have you been in contact with since the event ended and the Aug. 1 deadline has been reached? A few schools contacted me and I’m really excited to have this opportunity to look into the future. I’m grateful for the opportunities that are opening up and focused on continuing to grow both on and off the field. Having schools talk to me gives me a sense that hard work pays off. At 9u I was cut by a team and from there on I worked really hard with my dad to get to this step in life. But there's still more growth to come.

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights? One of the biggest highlights for me was getting a base hit in each game. I felt confident at the plate and consistent throughout the event. Playing in front of that many college coaches and being part of a team that went undefeated made it even more memorable.
PBR: Assess your performance. Overall, I think I performed well. I stayed composed in every at-bat and showed I can compete with the best. I got on base each game and contributed offensively, and I felt my overall presence helped the team in a quiet but impactful way.
PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Ohio and what stood out. Being part of Team Ohio was a great experience. What stood out most was our chemistry. We clicked quickly as a group and it showed on the field. Everyone played for each other, and that’s probably a big reason why we went 3-0.
PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event. The competition was definitely top-tier. Every team brought elite-level arms and hitters, and I loved being able to test myself against that kind of talent. It really made the games intense and pushed me to stay locked in every pitch.
PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future? This event opened a lot of doors. It put me on the radar of college coaches across the country and gave me a platform to show what I can do in a high-pressure environment. It also gave me more confidence knowing I can perform against the best.
PBR: What, if any, college coaches have you been in contact with since the event ended and the Aug. 1 deadline has been reached? Since Aug. 1, I’ve been in contact with Boston College and Akron. It’s been exciting to hear from schools that saw me play and are interested in learning more about me as a player and person.

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights? The Future Games for me was an insane atmosphere. There was so much competition down there. For me as a pitcher, to get in front of all the scouts just took me to a whole different place. Mentally it locked me in and got me ready to pitch at such a high stake.
PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Ohio and what stood out. Being a part of Team Ohio meant a lot. Amazing players, amazing coaches, and big opportunities. It meant a lot being a part of this group and showing off our talent that we have in our state, and competing against other states’ best.
PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event. Personally for me, the competition I faced was other states' batters. They are the best of the best for that state so I gotta give credit to their batters. But as a pitcher, a great game doesn’t mean striking everyone out. A great game can be weak contact to our fielders, and having those amazing players there backing you up feels good when you’re up on the mound battling.
PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future? The Future Games is a huge part of your future. Having a good game and someone recognizing your talent can help you achieve your goal of playing college ball. Even if it’s being a great teammate or out hustling your team, the smallest things matter when it comes to getting a coaches eye. As a result, the Future Games can help a player so much, if performing well. It also creates great friendships and overall gives your state a good name.

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights? Some of the highlights for me were definitely seeing teammates like Koby Dues and Jackson Schilling ball out. Koby going 3-3 and Jackson having a really nice back pick in our game vs Michigan was amazing. Also, just having the great defense behind me while pitching.
PBR: Assess your performance. I pitched well, even without my best “stuff”. I will say there’s nothing like the confidence you get with those guys in the field for you. There were times where I almost wanted the ball in play cause I was so confident in my defense to get outs. I was just trying to focus on working ahead in the count.
PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Ohio and what stood out. I was just so appreciative to be selected to represent my state and compete against the best. Of course, seeing all my friends who I have played with or against my whole career there with me was a great time. They are all intensely competitive like me. We wanted that 3-0 record.
PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event. The competition is always good at these types of events. That’s why I LOVE them. Knowing you’re playing against the best who are there to prove themselves. It’s always a good feeling knowing you’re facing the best with the best and doing your job.
PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future? Being a Future Games participant will definitely help with colleges who may have been iffy or undecided about me and they could’ve seen that performance and made up their mind, or they could even talk with the Prep Baseball Ohio staff on their opinions about me.

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights? LakePoint is always a fun place to play. Playing Future Games against some of the toughest competition in front of so many college coaches was an amazing experience and opportunity.
PBR: Assess your performance. I was hoping to go out and at least strike a couple of batters out. I was just aiming to do what I normally do and keep my composure no matter what the outcome was. I knew I had some competitors ready to hit. I exceeded my goal with 3 Ks, no walks, no hits, and no HBPs. I was a little nervous to begin with but settled right in and did what I normally do.
PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Ohio and what stood out. The coaches and players were great to be around. Ohio brought the toughest competition around to compete. I was proud to be part of Team Ohio.
PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event. I knew I had some hitters ready to go. They didn't go down easily but I was able to complete the task.
PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future? Getting exposed against tough competition in front of so many colleges is an amazing opportunity, especially if you can get the job done. It is also helpful to see others in the same position to see where you can improve and continue working. I’m a competitor and always working to get better.
PBR: What, if any, college coaches have you been in contact with since the event ended and the Aug. 1 deadline has been reached? I received calls from Wright State, Marshall, Xavier, OSU, Campbell, ECU, and many others. It was nice to find out more information about the programs and schools and I am excited to continue communications.

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights? My Future Games highlights were competing well on the mound and having a solid performance.
PBR: Assess your performance. I thought I did well, getting ahead early with my fastball, allowing me to be in control most of my ABs against the hitters.
PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Ohio and what stood out. It was a great honor being able to play with and be around such a talented and great group of guys from the Buckeye state.
PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event. It was great competition against some of the best players in the country and I’m grateful I got to compete on the big stage.

Cameron Conn SS / 2B / Wheelersburg, OH / 2027
PBR: What were your Future Games highlights? My Future Games highlights would be that I showed out really well in the showcase portion of the event. I felt like I had a really great round of batting practice and the infield portion went really well. Also, in game one of the event I had a walk and had a two-RBI single up the middle paired with a couple of plays on defense. I’ve now had a few big-time coaches and programs reach out.
PBR: Assess your performance. I felt like I showed out really well in what I participated in. The last two games were cut short due to a hand injury, but overall in what I competed in I had done really well in proving myself and what I am capable of and helping Team Ohio prove to the rest of the county what we’re able to do.
PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Ohio and what stood out. Being part of Team Ohio is something that I will never forget. Being a little kid and growing up in Ohio being around the teams that say the name “Ohio” and represent Ohio was very special to me. I am super thankful to the PBR Ohio staff and PBR staff for selecting me for this prestigious event.
PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event. The competition I faced at the event was fun but also very competitive at the same time. It’s the best players in the country all at one place, playing with and against you. It was such a good experience playing with the guys and learning where they are from. I had never got a chance to play with them or against them so It was great to finally join the powerhouse team that Ohio produces. The competition is like no other.
PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future? Playing in The Future Games will help me in the future because of the amount of exposure I have gotten from all the PBR staff. A huge shoutout to the staff for doing such a great job of exposing all of the players and giving a good rundown on each and every player! Also the huge amount of college coaches that were there was unreal. I’m not even sure of the number of coaches that were there because that’s how many. Such a cool experience to play in front of all of the coaches!
PBR: What, if any, college coaches have you been in contact with since the event ended and the Aug. 1 deadline has been reached? I have had a large number of colleges already interested in me, but since the ending of the event I have been in touch with Florida State, UNLV, Memphis, UCF and Georgia Tech.

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights? My Future Games highlights were going 3-3 against Team Michigan and striking out the side against Team Kansas.
PBR: Assess your performance. I thought I played pretty well. There are always some things to continue to clean up, but just keep getting better everyday.
PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Ohio and what stood out. Being on Team Ohio was a surreal experience. All the guys were a blast to be around and the chemistry was there from the jump.
PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event. The competition was some of the best competition in the country and truly prepared me for the next level.
PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future? Participating in the Future Games is a massive part of the recruiting process for anyone that has the opportunity to go. The amount of coaches in one spot is something you’ll never experience again.

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights? The highlights were definitely the opportunity to compete with a bunch of great players and get to showcase my skills.
PBR: Assess your performance. I was very happy with my performance down at the Future Games. I was able to collect four extra-base hits and play very good defense in centerfield.
PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Ohio and what stood out. We were coached very well and our team bonded. This helped us win games and compete.
PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event. Amazing competition! There was not an easy game, so every time stepping on the field was an amazing opportunity.
PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future? The Future Games is very beneficial for all players. Not only does it help you become a better baseball player, it is an opportunity to get a bunch of college eyes on you.
PBR: What, if any, college coaches have you been in contact with since the event ended and the Aug. 1 deadline has been reached? There were numerous schools that reached out due to the Future Games exposure. For example: Virginia Tech, NC State, ECU, OSU, Jax St, Mo. state, Lindenwood, Wright State, Toledo, OU, Virginia, Miami U, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Xavier, Akron, Evansville, Bowling Green, Rice, Texas Tech, Youngstown, Miami of Ohio.

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights? I would say my Future Games highlights would be I back picked a guy at first base, while also having a 93 EV single. I also walked four times.
PBR: Assess your performance. With assessing my performance, I had a lot of good ABs, walking four times. I had some loud foul balls and caught really well behind the plate. I stopped the running game against all teams we played.
PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Ohio and what stood out. I’ve played for Team Ohio three times now and it hasn’t changed a bit. The guys are so competitive and we all want to win, that’s why I think we’re one of the best states in the country. We compete and will fight with any team.
PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event. There’s no better competition than playing at the Future Games. There are so many good arms, fast runners, and really good hitters. All the arms we faced were all 85+ with their fastball velo. The competition is unbeatable.
PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future? I think the Future Games will help my future with all the eyes that were on me. There were so many coaches at all these games, and then the coaches for my state talking to those coaches about the players.

Devlan Daniel OF / RHP / Indian Hill, OH / 2027
PBR: What were your Future Games highlights? My Future Game highlight was first and foremost getting to play in front of all those coaches because no matter how well I played or didn’t play, it was something special to be able to go out and showcase my talent. The second highlight has to be playing against the best kids in other states and beating them all, that feels great and was a highlight.
PBR: Assess your performance. I thought my performance could have been better, and obviously I will always think that, but I think overall my showcase was good. I wish the 60 was a little better and in game I think I showed some good things and some things I could have shown better.
PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Ohio and what stood out. Being part of Team Ohio was amazing, because you hear about the other kids in Ohio and how well they are playing and you have known each other for some time. Being able to go play on a team with the best kids from Ohio is special and it’s tons of fun. Also, our coaching staff and our Prep Baseball Ohio guys, I think are the best In the country at what they do with scouting and getting names out there. For them to be able to help us out as players at a showcase event like this really, I just feel has to stand out from any other group in the country.
PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event. The competition was great. I mean it was the best kids in Michigan, Kentucky, and Kansas and it showed because those kids could play. Those pitchers were good so it was definitely a test of skill and I think it was handled correctly, but there was no shortage of talent on those teams.
PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future? I think the Future Games is going to help me in the future on two fronts. One, getting recognition and hopefully getting an opportunity to play at the next level. The second is I think it’s going to help me with learning how to play with a lot of eyes on you. I think the faster I can learn that the quicker I can become the best player I can be because hopefully after the next level, which is college, then you have MLB scouts coming to games and it’s the same thing, eyes are on you, so I think getting used to it now is going to help a ton.

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights? My Future Games highlights were playing and having fun with all the best kids in Ohio. Everyone on Team Ohio are great players and even better people. It’s always a great time being around them all.
PBR: Assess your performance. My performance was solid. I was up to 106 EV at the workout and in the games I put together quality at-bats. I ended up hitting the game-winning run in on a sac fly to complete the sweep for Team Ohio so I’m glad I got the job done for the state. I also ended up hitting a double and a few singles.
PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Ohio and what stood out. Being a part of Team Ohio is awesome. I’m super thankful for coach Weldon and the PBR staff for seeing my talents and being able to be a part of this team and represent Ohio at the biggest event of the year. The thing that stood out the most to me were my teammates. We all got along very well and played together, not as individuals. I know that’s hard, especially since not all of us play on the same summer ball team.
PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event. The competition at the event was great, some of the best in the whole country. Every game we were seeing elite pitching and facing elite hitters. I love playing against the best competition possible and the Future Games definitely gave me that opportunity.
PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future? The Future Games can help with my future tremendously as it got me seen by over 400+ college coaches which is awesome. This event has really set me up for my future very well. None of it would be possible without the PBR staff so huge thanks to them.

PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future? Participating in Futures will help me and many others in the future with college exposure.

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights? My Future Games highlights have to be just being able to play under the lights at such a nice venue such as Lakepoint. To be able to succeed and play well on top of that is just a bonus.
PBR: Assess your performance. I felt my performance was really good. After having to make adjustments after game one, I played really well. I hit an RBI single and a double and even my outs were hard hit deep to the outfield.
PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Ohio and what stood out. I loved playing for Team Ohio at the Future Games. Being able to be surrounded by such good talent was amazing.

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights? I threw two scoreless innings and only gave up one hit. In my second inning I only threw seven pitches and got two Ks.
PBR: Assess your performance. I thought I threw pretty well overall. I was able to locate my fastball well and throw it hard at the same time. My offspeed wasn’t as good as usual so I had to battle through that a little bit.
PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Ohio and what stood out. It was a great experience to be a part of the team. I know a lot of those guys from playing with them or against them in the past and currently, and it’s a great honor to go and represent Ohio. We went 3-0 on the week so you can’t do much better than that.
PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event. Everywhere you look there were guys throwing 90+ and hitting balls 100+ so obviously it’s probably the most top to bottom competitive event I’ve played in. There’s nobody there who doesn’t have what it takes to keep playing at the next level.
PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future? I think with all of the exposure and college coaches that were there, it is going to play a big part in how my next few weeks will go. Having all of them there really puts the pressure on and you can really see who can compete when the lights are brightest.

PBR: What were your Future Games highlights? I had two singles and made solid contact in several other at-bats with some hard hit balls.
PBR: Assess your performance. I put together quality at-bats against some of the top arms in the country and felt I did a great job behind the plate, catching some of the best pitchers in the state.
PBR: Give your thoughts on being part of Team Ohio and what stood out. It was an incredible experience. We played as a team and went 3-0, which the coaches said hadn’t happened for Ohio in a long time at the Future Games. It was a blessing to be part of such a talented group. Many of us have played together over the past four years at the Junior Future Games and Super Sophomore Games, which made the experience even more special.
PBR: Touch on the competition you faced at the event. The level of competition was the best I’ve faced all year. Nearly every pitcher we saw was throwing 90 mph or above.
PBR: How can participating in the Future Games help you in the future? The Future Games gave me a great opportunity to perform in front of a lot of college coaches and showcase my skills.
PBR: What, if any, college coaches have you been in contact with since the event ended and the Aug. 1 deadline has been reached? I’ve been in contact with ETSU.
