Summer Update Missouri Uncommitted Spotlight: 2027 Middle Infielders

With the release of the latest update to our state rankings for the 2027 class, it’s a great time to take a closer look at some of the top uncommitted prospects in the class. Only a few months have passed since recruiting restrictions were lifted on the 2027s as they began their junior years, so there are numerous big names left on the board. Over the next few days, our staff will highlight five of the top prospects at each position, with a short breakdown of each athlete. First, we'll look at the state's top five uncommitted middle infielders in the class.

Cole Chambers SS / RHP / St. Louis University, MO / 2027Chambers is an athletic prospect with a lot of upside. At the plate, he's displayed power to every part of the field, with a max EV of 94.9 mph. Defensively Chambers has high level arm strength, being gunned at 90 mph, with clean, fluid actions and plenty of natural range. |

Nathanael Eakins SS / RHP / Logan-Rogersville, MO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 26 / POS: 4
Eakins is a strong, physical prospect with a ton of upside both on the mound and as a middle infielder. At the plate, he's been in the low 90s with his exit velocity. Defensively, the arm strength from the mound carries over well to the infield, where he's been gunned at 85 mph. |

Bode Schenewerk SS / RHP / Jefferson City, MO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 29 / POS: 5
Schenewerk is a projectable athlete with some upside as a two-way guy. His arm strength is excellent, tossing it around the diamond at 89 mph. At the plate, his exit velocities have climbed into the upper 90s. |

Peter Nickson SS / C / Rockhurst, MO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 43 / POS: 6
One of the strongest middle infield prospects in the state, Nickson has some impressive power numbers to go along with the raw tools. At the plate, we've seen his exit velocity enter the triple digits, topping out at 100.6 mph. Defensively, he's got nice arm strength, being gunned at 87 mph across the infield. The strength is paired with above average speed, as he was clocked at 6.85 seconds in the 60. |

Fields Floersch SS / RHP / Blue Springs, MO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 49 / POS: 7
Another guy with real potential to stick as a two-way guy at the next level, Floersch has put up some good numbers both on the mound and as an infielder. At the plate, he's displayed a nice feel for the barrel to go along with some present power. Defensively, we've seen him fire it across the diamond at up to 88 mph. |
