Zach Toma LHP / 1B / West Aurora, IL / 2026Rankings StateRank: 43 / POS: 8
From 8/05/25: “+ LHP/1B Zach Toma (West Aurora, 2026) came away one of the event’s biggest two-way winners. Coming off a huge spring, the physical left-handed hitter picked up where he left off in game one with a loud swing, driving a ball over the left/center wall for a home run. He finished the week 3-for-6 with a home run, three RBIs, and a run scored. Toma then hopped on the mound and missed bats, recording three strikeouts in his two innings of work. The 6-foot-1, 191-pound southpaw sat 81-84 mph (T86) with his fastball that had late run to it, pairing that with a tight 71-73mph curveball. His changeup sat 73 mph and flashed fading action.” |

From 8/05/25: “+ LHP Rocco Szambelan (Joliet Catholic, 2026) stood out on the mound at the Illinois State Games with an impressive showing. The southpaw featured a running fastball that sat comfortably at 85-88 mph, touching 89 mph, and showed significant arm-side life with -16.7 inches of horizontal movement. He paired it effectively with a tight-breaking slider, which he consistently landed for strikes, demonstrating advanced feel for the pitch. Szambelan works with a loose, athletic delivery, featuring an easy leg lift and explosive finish through release.” |

Aiden David LHP / OF / St. Patrick High School, IL / 2026Rankings StateRank: 61 / POS: 11
From 8/05/25: “+ LHP Aiden David (St. Patrick's, 2026) is a well-proportioned, 6-foot, 185-pound frame. David gave a good look on the mound, striking out two and allowing only two hits through his two innings. The left-hander sets up with a wide base, medium leg kick, and drop and drive motion. The arm works from a clean and quick short arm action from the ¾ slot. Dealing with a two-pitch mix, the fastball was sitting 87-89 mph, jumping out of the hand with 19.3 IVB, and the slider was 75-77 mph, with sharp break, working low and away with 2200 RPMs. When David was commanding in the zone, hitters couldn't keep up with the fastball and put on uncomfortable swings with the off-speed.” |

Braydon McKendrick LHP / OF / Brother Rice, IL / 2026Rankings StateRank: 65 / POS: 12
From 5/14/25: “Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 50 in the Illinois’ 2026 class. Has been one of the top arms for Brother Rice all spring, as well as one of the top arms in the Chicago Catholic League. Put together yet another strong performance, this time vs. a Top-5 team. Took a no-hitter into the seventh inning. In total, went six-plus innings, one hit, one earned run, struck out four, and walked three. Fastball was playing at 86-88 mph early, settled 83-85 by 5th. Was consistently mixing and manipulating two different breaking balls throughout; SL 75-76 mph, CB 70-72 mph. Highly competitive on the mound, showed athleticism bouncing off the mound to make plays, and also picked off a runner with a quick, step-off move. Uncommitted left-hander to know in the Illinois’ 2026 class.” |

Owen Rog LHP / OF / DePaul College Prep, IL / 2026Rankings StateRank: 112 / POS: 14
From 8/05/25: “+ LHP Owen Rog (DePaul College Prep, 2026) would show quality stuff from the left side during his stint on the mound. Worked from a stretch-only delivery with a cross-body release and athletic movements down the mound. Worked from a compact high 3/4s release with a fastball up to 89 mph, showing life out of the hand and cut. Showed an upper-60s-low-70s curveball with slurvy 10/4 shape with up to 16.6 inches of horizontal movement. Flashed a mid-70s change-up with low spin rates and depth. Ryan Oelke LHP / 1B / Rockridge, IL / 2026Rankings StateRank: 157 / POS: 19
From 2/19/25: “One of the biggest winners from the event was LHP Ryan Oelke (Rockridge, 2026), who made his showcase debut last week. There’s a lot to like about his 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame, featuring long levers, a high waist, and room for added strength. Rumblings around the event suggested that Oelke is relatively new to pitching, having picked it up over the last year or so. His delivery showed ease, fluidity, and looseness, paired with a clean, loose arm path and quickness out front. His fastball sat 81-84 mph, topping out at 85.2 mph. He showed feel for an upper-60s curveball with 1/7 shape, working low and around the zone. He also mixed in a low-70s changeup with fade and a low-70s splitter that he effectively killed the spin on. Heading into the spring, Oelke is a must-know name to see in-game.” |

From 5/24/25: “Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 131 in the state. 5-foot-10, 165 pounds, trim and athletic build. Gave a brief look out of the ‘pen, striking out two in a 1-2-3 inning of work. Simple and athletic delivery, high leg-lift into a coiled balance point, reaches with the front leg down the mound, and works in-line. Long arm action out of the glove, smooth into release, ¾ slot, easy effort. The fastball played in the 83-83 mph range with late arm-side sink, showing the ability to keep it to the arm-side and also collect swing/miss in the zone. The curveball showed a shorter and gradual 1/7 shape at 65-67 mph, and the changeup played similar to the fastball at 77-79 mph.” |
