Anderson Lambert OF / 3B / McDonogh, MD / 2027Anderson Lambert has continuously cemented his spot at the top of the 2027 rankings across Maryland, and did so once more with one of the more impressive and standout performances of any rising junior at this year's Prep Baseball Future Games. Lambert flashed his skillset to the fullest all summer long, including a performance that exhilarated the 400+ college coaches at Lakepoint, turning in PR's in the 60 (6.74), Exit Velo (102.4), and Outfield velo (91) while also hitting .625 in-game. The athleticism shines and the consistent ability to impact the game in multiple facets has only propelled Lambert to new heights across the country. |

Judah Shirlen SS / 2B / Archbishop Spalding High School, MD / 2027Rankings StateRank: 3 / POS: 2
You would be hard-pressed to find a player who impacted and made a bigger statement at this year's Future Games quite like Shirlen did, leading to an impressive commitment to Vanderbilt University at the back end of the summer. The 6-foot shortstop had his name circled right out of the gate at Lakepoint following a majestic defensive round during the workout, showcasing fluid hands, quick footwork, and an internal clock second to none. Shirlen bounces around the infield and has cemented himself as the top defender of any position in the state, while also showcasing an intriguing hit tool that sparked all summer long. It's a strong gap-to-gap line drive approach with the ability to turn the barrel at a high rate and hit for average. As the frame adds muscle and the body matures, look for Shirlen to solidify his name as the next best shortstop to come out of Maryland. |

Matthew Sowers RHP / SS / Chesapeake High, MD / 2027Rankings StateRank: 10 / POS: 4
The Maryland/Delaware Future Games team had a plethora of standout performances on both sides of the ball, and from a pitching standpoint, the big 6-foot-3 right-hander may have shown the most impressive arsenal of any arm on the roster. This has been an arm that our staff has tried to key in on for a long time now, and it seems that Sowers has found his niche across the state. The fastball explodes out of the hand up to 90 mph with the ability to beat bats in the zone and work the secondary to his advantage down in the zone. It's a four-pitch mix with projection throughout the mix that only adds to the ceiling. When Sowers is competing in the zone, this is one of the top arms in the class and should only increase his stock as the frame matures. |
