Prep Baseball Louisiana: 2026 State Rankings Risers (August 2025)

Alex Armand
Louisiana Scouting Director

Yesterday, we released our updated state rankings update, for the 2026 class, now that the summer season has come to an end.  Throughout the summer, our staff traveled across the state, to see as many prospects and teams as possible, and we were able to see more prospects than we've ever seen before.  Our state rankings for the 2026 class expanded to 335 players in total for this update, and there were plenty of movers and shakers throughout the list.  Today, we take a look at a few guys that made a move up in this rankings update.

STATE RANKINGS RISERS (2026 CLASS)

Landon Brewer RHP / Minden, LA / 2026

From 07/15/25: "6-2, 170-pound athletic frame with room to project for more strength in the future.  The Louisiana Tech commit got the start against the Knights Knation 17U group last weekend.  The results (3 IP, 5 ER, 3 BB, 2 K) weren't what he probably hoped for, but there's no denying the arm talent and his future potential.  He's a silky smooth mover down the slope with a quick arm and a repeatable delivery.  Brewer's 88-92 mph fastball really jumped out of his hand with occasional arm-side run.  He paired that with a developing 77-80 mph slider and a 81-83 mph changeup that he had confidence to throw against both right-handed and left-handed hitters.  Brewer also just turned 17 years old, making him one of the youngest players in his class, which means that there's likely another jump or two in store for the Minden product."

Ayden Bullock LHP / Riverside Academy, LA / 2026

From 06/05/25: "Physical 6-2, 220 lbs. frame.  Before Tuesday, we hadn't seen the Southern commit since the fall and he showed that he's definitely made some serious jumps.  Working off the third base side of the rubber through a quicker delivery, Bullock used a full arm stroke to release the ball from a high 3/4 slot.  His fastball peaked at 94 mph and stayed 90-93 mph with more control over command.  He flashed both a 76-79 mph curveball and a 78-80 mph slider with the latter looking like the better secondary offering with short lateral break.  Bullock rounded out his repetoire with a 81-83 mph change-up.  Left-handers up to 94 mph don't grow on trees and if Bullock can hone in on his command, then he'll certainly peak the interest of many."

Kason Johnson RHP / Dutchtown, LA / 2026

6-2, 195-pound durable frame.  Johnson was arguably the biggest winner off our Senior Future Games team this past summer.  The Dutchtown product threw the last two innings of Game 3 at the event and tossed two shutout innings.  He's a strike thrower with a true four-pitch mix that is led by a 85-90 mph fastball that he can locate to all quadrants.  Johnson showed feel to land an "11-5" shaped 72-74 mph curveball for strikes and was able to bury a 77-78 mph slider with two strikes.  The separator, however, was his 75-78 mph changeup that flashed late-fade and he was able to land the pitch to both right-handed and left-handed hitters at will.  Johnson recently announced his commitment to Copiah-Lincoln Community College and will be the Griffins go-to guy this coming spring.

Noah Gauthier RHP / St. Thomas More Catholic High School, LA / 2026

From 06/27/25: "6-2, 180-pounds with projection still left.  Gauthier had one of the quicker and cleaner outings on Tuesday.  Working off the first base side of the rubber throughout a repeatable delivery, he used a compact arm stroke to release the ball from a near over-the-top slot.  The St. Thomas More product did a nice job of locating his fastball to the glove-side at 88-90 mph and showed developing feel for a sharp 78-81 mph slider.  He can also kill spin with a 78-79 mph split finger."

Camden Fisackerly RHP / De La Salle, LA / 2026

From 06/05/25: "Relatively unknown prior to Tuesday, the 6-3, 180 lbs. right-hander made a name for himself with one of the better mound performances on the day.  An easy mover down the slope with a repeatable delivery, Fisackerly used a loose arm stroke to release the ball from a 3/4 slot.  He did a really good job of staying behind and top of his 87-90 mph fastball and kept the pitch down in the zone.  Fisackerly paired that with a short & tight 76-78 mph slider that he landed for strikes and a late-fading 81-82 mph change-up to round out his three-pitch mix.  Uncommitted for now, he's firmly placed himself on a list of must-see uncommitted 2026 arms in the state this summer."
