St. Louis Summer ID: Positional Analysis
August 29, 2025
On June 24th, the Prep Baseball Illinois staff traveled to St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri for the St. Louis Summer ID. This open event was host to 33 players, mostly from Missouri but also some players from Illinois and Nebraska - with a couple of these players earning an invitation to represent their state at last month’s Senior Future Games and Junior Future Games.
Today, we are taking a look at every single position player from the day, including a top-5 ranking of who our staff thought showed the best in the workout.
CIF Mitchell Garner (Sullivan, 2026) is a physical uncommitted senior to know from the day who put together a loud round of BP. The right-handed hitter displayed easy, loud contact with a peak EV of 99 mph, averaging 96 mph throughout his round with a peak distance of 364’. He also averaged 72 mph for his bat-speed and 22 mph for his hand-speed.
INF Dan Lang (St. John Vianney), C Fin Almanza Parra (Wright City), INF Ben Delic (Oakville) and 1B Kurt Sheets (MICDS) are four young incoming freshmen who all showed well on the day and should be names to follow in the coming years.
