With the release of the latest update to our state rankings for the 2026 class, it’s a great time to take a closer look at some of the top remaining uncommitted prospects in the class. With plenty of talented players still available, our staff will dive in and highlight the top five uncommitted prospects from each position group. We’ll kick this series off by taking a look at the five top ranked uncommitted arms, with a short breakdown of each prospect.

Michael Ramsey RHP / OF / Parsons, KS / 2026Rankings StateRank: 15 / POS: 5
The state's top uncommitted prospect has made waves this summer on the mound, touching 93 mph at the Senior Future Games. Ramsey's arsenal also features a hard changeup as well as a curveball/slider combo that both have some nice spin. |

Grayton Gross LHP / OF / Salina Central, KS / 2026Rankings StateRank: 26 / POS: 2
Gross slots in as the state's top uncommitted LHP. The rising senior had a strong season last spring, commanding the zone with a four-pitch mix. He can run the fastball into the upper 80s, with a sharp slider in the low 80s, and rounds out the arsenal with a solid curveball and changeup. |

James Forgy RHP / C / St. Thomas Aquinas, KS / 2026Rankings StateRank: 28 / POS: 10
Forgy put together a strong showing this summer, and will look to parlay that success into a big senior year. The physical right-hander topped out at 91 mph in our look at him this July, and had a feel for a pair of offspeed offerings as well. |

Coby Branson RHP / 3B / Santa Fe Trail, KS / 2026Rankings StateRank: 41 / POS: 13
Branson is a legitimate two-way prospect who is returning to form on the mound, looking fully healthy now about a year removed from an arm injury. Branson was up to 90 mph in a look at him this summer, attacking hitters from a low slot that produces a good amount of arm-side run. |

James Quance RHP / SS / Shawnee Mission East, KS / 2026Rankings StateRank: 44 / POS: 15
Quance is another guy who had a solid showing this summer. The fastball can reach the lower 90s, and he rounds out a three-pitch mix with a changeup and curveball. |
