VENTURA, CALIF. - The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues after a jam packed summer of Prep Baseball California events, summer travel baseball, and other opportunities to evaluate players we will be recognizing some of the top remaining uncommitted players around the state. We will be looking at players from the 2026 class and 2027 classes across the upcoming weeks/months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts both through our in person looks at players and/or the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, and VALD Performance provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on an impressive 2026 player who stood out during the Summer Showcase circuit for Prep Baseball California after a loud spring high school season. We are looking at SoCal '26 C Trevor Hoff from Classical Academy High School in Escondido, Calif.. Hoff made his presence felt at the San Diego Summer ID where the LH hitter put on a display both at the plate and behind is during the event.

Hoff showed off a loud offensive profile from the swing quality to his batted ball data during batting practice at the San Diego Summer ID. A LH hitter Hoff starts from a balanced set up with a hinge at hips before using a small leg lift with a hover before moving forward to the launch position. Once at launch Hoff shows an aggressive overall operation geared towards doing damage at contact. He is able to generate torque in his swing through his lower 1/2 with a peak rotational acceleration of 16.4 Gs while using quick strong hands with a 22.3 MPH peak hand speed and explosive present bat speed at 84.2 MPH. Hoff's strong and explosive operation is able to produce max exit velocites up to 102.6 MPH while averaging 94.5 MPH on his exit velocity with a max distance of 360' during his batting practice rounds. The deeper metrics provided by Trackman during batting practice confirm power profile for Hoff's offensive ability including 82% hard hit rate, 73% sweet spot rate while showing solid feel for driving the baseball in the air with a 82% fly ball/line drive rates during batting practice.

Hoff demonstrated his power profile during his JR. campaign at Classical Academy by producing a slash line of .338/.447/.618 with a strong approach that produced an 14 BB to 16 K ratio over 24 games played, 85 plate apperances and 68 official at bats. Trevor showed his power tool with a total of 11 extra base hits out of his total of 23 hits on the on the spring including seven doubles and four homers. He drove in 20 total runs while scoring another 15 for the Caimans team. His doubles, homers, RBIs, total extra base hits, walks, OBP and SLG were all tops on the team while his AVG was second on the team befitting his offensive profile.

Hoff is sturdily built at 6'1 245 lbs. presently with strength in both his upper and lower body. He shows solid defensive tools behind the plate with his receiving/blocking skills and flashes arm potential including a 76 MPH C velo while going as low at 1.97 on his pop times. In addition he moves well at 1B with solid feet, soft hands and looks to be a sound defender at the spot. No matter where he plays defensively long term there is plenty of value to be provided by his offensive profile at those spots.

Posting a strong performance during his JR year if high school and backing it up with the showcase of tools during his event attendance there is plenty of reasons for college programs to be jumping into the recruiting mix for Hoff as a impact profile LH hitter for their 2026 classes.
