Rising Stars On The Radar: 2028 RHP Tommy Driver (Ballston Spa)

Tommy had one of the most impressive outings at the East Coast Super Sophomore Games this summer at UNC Chapel Hill.

The high-waisted 6-foot-5, 165-pound frame screams projectability, and he pairs it with a fluid, repeatable delivery. He moves down the mound with rhythm and tempo, producing over 6 feet of extension on all offerings. The arm works with ease, dropping cleanly from the glove before whipping through a lower ¾ release (4.7' avg. release height).

The fastball carried through the zone with late life, spinning over 2300 RPM with up to 18 inches of horizontal movement. He showed the ability to command it to both sides of the plate, overpowering hitters during his two scoreless innings. The slider, while not boasting eye-popping spin metrics, was an effective swing-and-miss pitch that flashed two-tier depth from his lower release slot. The changeup profiles as a future plus pitch, averaging -3" IVB and 18" of horizontal movement for heavy armside fade.

With his frame, athletic delivery, and present feel for three pitches, Tommy offers enormous upside and will be an exciting prospect to follow in the coming years.
