Top Prospect Games Huntsville: Player Analysis

On Tuesday, July 1st, the PB Texas staff traveled to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX, to host the Top Prospect Games: Huntsville, an invite-only event for the class of 2026-2028.
More than 20 players made their way to Sam Houston State and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.

Today, we take a look at the scouting reports for every player in attendance as well as rank the top 8 from the event.
TOP OVERALL PROSPECTS
1. Easton Brunson, Goose Creek (TX), 2027
Positional Profile: 1B/OF LHH/INF/OF good build/frame to add strength, solid build now. Moves well on baseball field, fringe plus runner presently, plus future as he adds strength and matures. Solid infielder with developing actions, OF moves well to baseball. Project avg arm strength in future with chance to exceed. Plus HS bat/power combo in future with couple of adjustments to firm impact and contact consistency. Good player with tools, will continue to improve. Fun to watch develop over next year.
Body: 6-0, 191.4 pounds. Good build/frame. Width to shoulders and back. Strength already present. Frame supports strength added with growth and maturity. Good physical projections.
Hit: LHH. Crouched stance, lands slightly closed with stride. Nice job of using lower 1/2 now with opportunity to improve. Back foot slides away from plate in swing. Rotate back foot and drive forward some with back foot. Absolutely can improve lower 1/2 use and increase impact. Hits into firm front side, balls away upright posture, inner 1/2 body leans back, work to maintain upright posture. Barrel/hands start in solid position. With stride, hands separate, causing some lead arm bar, creating length. Limit amount hands drift back with stride. Front shoulder opens early. Hit with back 1/2 of body, back shoulder starts before lead shoulder. Bat speed/hand speed present. 77.5 mph bat speed with 29g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 108 mph max exit velocity (99.5 avg.); 402-foot max batted distance. Abv avg bat/power combo in future. Hits balls hard now with opportunities to firm contact consistency and impact with adjustments.
Arm: RH. INF - 87 mph. OF - 87 mph. Arm works well. Solid throws to 2nd, shows carry to throws on throws to 3rd when feet get set to throw. Solid raw arm strength now. OF... Arm speed is present. Good, clean arm action. Throws have carry with ability to be put on a line.
Defense: Feet work well coming off bag moving to baseball. Sets to throw well to 2nd. When deep, feet work, nice job of playing thru ball. Glove flipper, work to keep palm of glove facing baseball when moving to baseball and fielding. Fields ball deep, work to get hands out front, eliminating glove flip will help as well. OF...Moves to baseball well. Stays low and athletic during breakdown of feet. Solid HS fielder with ability to play all three OF positions.
Athletic Testing: 6.95 runner in the 60-yard dash; 22.60-inch max vertical jump. Runs well. Has good stride length and keeps a forward lean. Form is quiet and efficient. Creates premium speed.
