TOP INFIELDERS
1. Cole Muir, Walnut Grove (TX), 2026
Positional Profile: SS/3B RHH/INF Great build/frame to add strength. Athletic, plus runner, will continue to add some speed in future. Solid defender with ability to play all infield positions. Project solid bat/power combo in future with upside. Opportunities for both hit approach and swing adjustments. Athletic, just started to scratch surface with bat/power.
Body: 6-2, 187 pounds. Good, lean build/frame. Avg width to shoulders and back. Solid lower half. Good physical projections.
Hit: RHH. Upright stance, lands in good position to hit. Back foot gets stuck, killing use of lower 1/2. Work to get back foot turned, shoelaces towards pitcher. With length of stride, recommend getting some linear movement forward with back foot further increase use of lower 1/2. Hands start high with barrel behind head. With stride, back elbow goes up creating barrel tilt over head creating length to swing. Work to get barrel behind head, soften back elbow. Knob is flashlight, light should be in somewhat direction towards catcher. Hands cast out, barrel follows working around zone. With new launch position, take knob barrel on direct path to hit zone. 67.5 mph bat speed with 6g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 99 mph max exit velocity (85.9 avg.); 344-foot max batted distance. Project solid bat/power combo with upside. Opportunities for adjustments present to increase contact consistency and ability to impact baseball. Great base to develop from.
Arm: RH. INF - 85 mph. Arm works well, shows solid to possibly tick abv avg HS raw arm strength now. Will continue to develop in future.
Defense: Feet work well getting to baseball, breaks down to field well. Hands work, solid actions.
Athletic Testing: 6.93 runner in the 60-yard dash; 24.30-inch max vertical jump. Quick strides, has well above avg speed. Solid form. Work on arm swing moving up and down instead of coming across.
