From Wednesday, July 24, through Saturday, July 27, Prep Baseball hosted the next edition of its prestigious Future Games at LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, Ga., featuring the country's best uncommitted talent.

We have already released a Statistical Analysis, highlighting the event’s top performers in the numerous offensive and defensive data metrics.

In this piece, we will be providing scouting takeaways on the pitchers that represented the Lone Star State over the course of last week down at LakePoint.

QUICK HITS

*Please note…."avg, abv avg, plus, below avg" is based on Major League scale, not High School scale.*

Quinn Fitzpatrick | RHP | Stratford HS | 6’2” 190
Quality build with a strong lower half and room to add strength. Power pitcher’s frame. Delivery works well, with acceleration and extension through release. Fastball 92–94 mph with tailing life to the arm side and ability to attack all quadrants. Curveball 76–80 with depth; spin up to 2600 rpm, needs to firm command. Slider 80–82 with short, late finish. Changeup at 80 with tail/sink, used effectively to both sides. High Follow Prospect for 2027.

George Ferguson | RHP | Abilene HS | 6’4” 210
Excellent pitcher’s frame with projection for strength gains. Delivery is clean, arm action works. Fastball 92–94 with carry at the top of the zone and tailing life to arm side. Slider 79–81 shows average action with ability to manipulate shape — tight downer with occasional hard CB look. Changeup features tail/sink and shows comfort using it to both sides. Continues trending upward. High Follow Prospect for 2027.

Jake Ivey | LHP | Gunter HS | 6’3” 210
Strong pitcher’s build with athleticism and room for added strength. Repeatable delivery, long arm path with hook, no concerns. Low slot with crossfire action creates tough angle. FB 89–92, effective up in the zone with swing-and-miss traits. Works both sides of plate. Curveball shows average action and is manipulative like the FB. Changeup shows consistent tail/sink. High Follow Prospect for 2027.

Jacob Lessman | RHP | China Spring HS | 6’3” 170
Lean, projectable frame with room to add strength. Athletic mover with clean delivery; arm works though can drag at times. FB 88–90 with arm-side life and ability to work both sides. Downhill plane present. Needs to refine command and vertical feel. CB 75–78 with average action at times, 12–5 shape. Changeup 73–75 with fade. Starter traits, arm speed present, more velocity to come. Developing pitch mix.

Max Mangum | RHP | East Bernard HS | 6’5” 230
Big-bodied with strength across the frame and projection. Compact, deceptive delivery with a short arm path. FB 89–92 with tail and ability to generate swing and miss. Slider 77–81 with tight break and manipulated shape. Strike thrower. Didn’t show a third pitch. Will be an imposing presence as he continues to add velo. Follow.

Carson Pratt | RHP | Second Baptist | 6’3” 185
Projectable frame with good proportions. Repeatable delivery and clean arm action. Needs to firm up movement patterns to gain efficiency. FB 83–88 with some tail, occasional cut. CB 69–72, 12–5 shape. Changeup 74–77 with turnover action. Projectable RHP who will benefit from added strength.

Tyler Scarborough | RHP | Lovejoy HS | 6’4” 180

FB 86–92 with ability to locate, works down with occasional tail. CB 76–79 with depth, projects to average. SL shows late down finish. CH 82–83 with fade. Throws strikes. Upside arm with future velocity gains expected.

William McIntire | RHP | Boyd HS | 5’11” 165

CB up to 2450 rpm, 12–5 shape with feel and depth. CH at 80. Athletic righty who spins it well. Strike thrower with arm speed.

Jackson Wilcox | RHP | Magnolia HS | 5’11” 185
Stocky, strong lower half with room for more strength. Delivery is inconsistent at times; stride leg varies. Arm works with arm speed present. FB 89–92 with potential for more, works top and bottom of zone. CB 74–78, feel to spin with down action. SL 81–82 with feel. Split/change kills spin (as low as 940 rpm), shows sink. Strike thrower with advanced feel for secondary. Will throw harder.

Jackson Fetters | RHP | China Spring HS | 6’2” 195
Sturdy frame with projection. Repeats delivery well with length on the backside. FB 84–88 with solid downplane and arm-side life. SL 74–78 with downer action. CH shows tail. Velocity will tick up. Needs to refine command and control.

Caden Mackey | LHP | Southlake Carroll HS | 6’1” 180
Lean, athletic build. Crossfire delivery adds angle; repeats action better than in spring. FB 87–88 plays best up in zone; glove-side effectiveness due to angle. Needs to improve command down. CB with sweepy, slurvy action, flashed average. Spin rate at 2500. No third pitch shown. Developing LHP with signs of firming.

Mason Desai | RHP | Fulshear HS | 6’0” 170
Lean, athletic build. Compact delivery with effort. FB 86–90, tailing life, 2500–2600 spin. CB shows depth and average potential with 12–5 shape, though command is inconsistent. CH 81–82 with fade. Arm speed is there; velocity should climb. Has flashes of solid stuff. Must improve command to start long-term.

Ryder Renfro | RHP | Kingwood HS | 6’3” 185
Projectable frame with full-circle arm action. OH slot, some head pull but repeats delivery. FB 87–89 with plane, works both top and bottom of zone. CB 69–74, good spin (~2400 rpm), shows ability to adjust shape. No third pitch shown. Intriguing spin traits. Will add velocity.

Jamie Chipman | RHP | Academy HS | 6’6” 195
Long, lean frame with strength to come. Drop-and-drive delivery, effort present, stride varies. Arm works with full arc and arm speed. FB 86–93, scattered command but velocity present. Arm-side tail. CB 73–75, 12–5 shape, needs to refine release point. Still more of a thrower than pitcher but has tools. Velocity will climb.

Mason Duncan | RHP | Flower Mound HS | 6’5” 225
Strong, physical frame. Low ¾ to sidearm slot creates deception. Full-circle arm path, delivery has moving parts. FB 86–90 with increasing tail. SL 78–83 sweepy/slurvy. CH 80–81 with turnover. Struggled with command this outing, but has shown firmer stuff. Could benefit from 3B-side setup. Will add velocity.

Big LH Frame. FB up to 86 in this outing and we have seen him up to 87 in previous outings. Showed the ability to spin the breaking ball and comepte when he didn't have his "A" game. The arm works and he will throw harder with continued development.

Extra-large frame with strong lower half. Repeats delivery well from LTQ slot. FB 84–87 with tail/sink, consistent strikes. Blended breaker with shape manipulation and near 3000 spin on a sinker variant at 79. Pitchability present with feel for movement. Velocity will rise.
