Prep Baseball Report

PA Class of 2026 (Summer Edition)

Nathan Ocker
Director of PA/WV

As the summer concludes and players begin to roam the hallways of their high schools, it’s the perfect time to release our end-of-summer installment of the rankings. The Prep Baseball Pennsylvania staff sat down and quickly realized that this class has developed into one of the top groups in the country.

Filled with power arms, power bats, and freak athletes from top to bottom, this rankings class has it all. After a busy summer of baseball, a new No. 1 has risen to the top, leading to a shakeup in the top 10. Some players delivered big-time performances on the biggest stages, while others continued their red-hot high school seasons straight through the summer schedule.

We break down each Top 10 player below, along with the full list of 400+ prospects.

Jerek Turlij RHP / 2B / North East, PA / 2026

One of the biggest risers in this rankings release, as he makes his debut in the Top 10 at the #1 spot. After posting videogame like numbers during the high school season earning himself Prep Baseball PA POY, he continued his success into the summer circuit. With a lightning fast arm that repeats his velocity has certainly made a big jump. Now pitching consistently in the mid-upper 90s with flashes of a plus breaking ball, Turlij has become one of the most watched arms out of the northeast.

Keller Bradley RHP / OF / Pennsbury, PA / 2026

Bradley is hard to miss when he steps on the bump, 6'6" frame with some funk to his delivery he has continued to trend in the right direction. With still more in the tank, he has set himself up to be one of the top MLB Draft prospects in the state.

Nolan Stefaniak RHP / 1B / butler area senior high school, PA / 2026

Yet another hard throwing RHP, Stefaniak has had a himself one heck of a year. After a big commitment to Penn State University last August, he has not slowed down. Every stop along the way from coast to coast, event to event he has dominated hitters. Loose arm from a low 3/4 creates a bit of deception for the hitter. Easy to see another jump in the coming months which will only allow his SL to play up.

Andrew Costello C / 3B / Cathedral Prep, PA / 2026

The Wake Forest recruit is not just Keystone State’s top backstop but is also the top hitting prospect as well. The uber physical 5 ‘11 and 190 pound build contains a combination of contact and power that translates exceptionally well into gameplay. Defensively has high level arm strength of 82mph and quick in-game operation throwing out elite base stealers.

Brady Abate OF / Malvern Prep, PA / 2026

Abate is a proven winner with multiple state titles at Malvern Prep. A cornerstone player for the Friars, he contains some of the Keystone State’s best hit and power tools. The number five player in the state is a strong ball player with a muscular frame, strong arm from the outfield with a knack for tracking down fly balls.

Kyle Casteel RHP / RHP / Butler Area Shs, PA / 2026

One of our favorite arms that we saw this past preseason, has continued to turn all the right heads through the summer circuit. What is not to like about the 6'5" 205lb frame that moves well? A sleeper in the northeast arm talent that is DEEP.

Daniel Kellis RHP / OF / Radnor, PA / 2026

Kellis possesses one of the State’s premiere arm talents and starting pitcher’s frame at 6 '5 and 225 pounds. The UPenn commit’s fastball is consistently 90-93mph, occasionally touching 94-95mph with impressive arm side run. An elite pronator with an aggressive changeup with downward fade.

Luke Williams SS / OF / Franklin Regional, PA / 2026

Williams is certainly a household name in the Pittsburgh area. Metrically he stands out with exit velocities and arm velo in the upper echelon of baseball. Spark plug player that has legitimate power to all fields. Still strength to be gained and limiting some swing and miss, Williams has the chance to be a top name in the country.

Andrew Cross SS / 3B / Moon Area, PA / 2026

A prototypical “you go,we go” type player. When Cross is firing on all cylinders which seems like always, no moment is too big. A bit “undersized” by the baseball standard however he plays much bigger, present power ability to the pullside makes Cross a difference maker. QB1 continues to make a name for himself in the baseball world.

Jackson Melconian SS / 2B / Malvern Prep, PA / 2026

Melconian is the second half of the State’s top hitting tandems with Abate at Malvern Prep. An elite defender at shortstop with high-level range and a strong arm to make difficult throws. The Vanderbilt commit hits from a unique stance but gets into a strong hitting position and can handle velocity and spin very well.
