Tucson Summer ID: BLAST Motion
August 25, 2025
This past Saturday, the Prep Baseball Arizona staff hosted it's final Summer ID event with the Tucson Summer ID. The event brought together roughly 30 prospects from the 2026–2029 classes, giving a talented group the chance to get quality reps in a structured setting while competing in front of our staff. Saturday’s standout performances further highlighted the depth of Arizona’s uncommitted talent pool.
Players also received video footage (will be edited and added to profiles in 2-3 weeks) and verified stats to their profiles, giving them a strong foundation for building their recruiting presence. Summer ID’s play a key role in identifying prospects for premier events such as the West Coast Super Sophomore Games, West Coast Games, and Preseason All-State Games
Yesterday, we broke down the top pitching data in our Pitching Data Dive, and today we shift the focus to the top Blast Motion data.

BLAST MOTION
HIGHEST PEAK HAND SPEED
HIGHEST AVG. HAND SPEED
Hand Speed: The observed speed as measured on the handle of the bat (measured six inches from the knob of the bat). Peak Hand Speed will occur prior to the moment of impact, very close to the commit time in the swing when the wrists unhinge.
HIGHEST PEAK BAT SPEED
HIGHEST AVG. BAT SPEED
Bat Speed: The observed speed of the sweet spot of the bat at impact. The sweet spot of the bat is measured six inches from the tip of the bat.
HIGHEST PEAK ROTATIONAL ACCELERATION
HIGHEST AVG. ROTATIONAL ACCELERATION
Body Rotation: A swing that has the appropriate relative contributions of body and bat rotations is an efficient and powerful swing that maintains proper sequencing. An efficient baseball swing is one in which the body creates the initial movements, which is then transferred to the arms and out to the bat, thereby maximizing Bat Speed through this proximal-to-distal kinematic sequencing movement pattern.
