There were fifty new players moving into the Top 225, as well as plenty of movement throughout the rankings. Today we highlight a handful of players that have made an impact inside of the Class of 2026 rankings.
+ Gordon Cozad - Oakton HS - SS
The offensive production has been on display since the spring for Oakton, and it carried over into the summer. He put together competitive at bats with quality contact. It is lean strength with line drives that work gap to gap. He has shown some impact to the pull side when he gets the barrel out early. He's an above average defender in the infield with fluid actions, with more of a second base/ third base profile. What he brings to the field every day is versatility and the ability to impact the game in different ways.
+ Bobby Knight III - Lakeland HS - OF
Sparkplug. That is one word to describe the way Knight plays the game. Compact frame, slightly above average run, and can provide some offense up and down the order. More left field/centerfield profile. Higher set hands, flat bat, medium lift to stride, and lands on line. Shorter path and more line drive from gap to gap, but will show a little pop at times. While it is certainly not a power bat, he produces some above average impact for the frame and has well above average bat speed and above average hand speed.
+ Camden Lockhart - Mills Godwin HS - OF - Coker
Strong 6-foot-2, 198-pound frame. Proportional strength and an improved run tool have added to the value and assisted the production of the now Coker commit. Lockhart has been a steady, impactful presence at the plate. While the swing has some funk and is a little rigid at times, it is a heavy barrel with above average bat and hand speed. The ability to produce extra bases has always been an asset for Lockhart, but it has not been consistent, especially versus the better arms, but that has changed. The Mills Godwin corner outfielder could be a run production bat for the Eagles this year and at the next level.
+ Tucker Whitacre - Westfield HS - RHP
Our staff had a chance to see Whitacre a handful of times since April and one of the most consistent things about the right hander is that, regardless of best stuff or worst stuff that day, he is going to compete. During the spring we saw him mostly in the 83-85 range, would hold velo during his outing, and threw three pitches for strikes. It is a normal to lighter effort delivery, higher hand break, and a shorter three-quarter arm action. This is above average control and nearing command for a high school arm. Moves the fastball around and spins a low-mid 70's breaking ball for strikes, as well as uses a tight velo split high 70's changeup versus hitters from both sides. Pitch over stuff type of arm that competes and has a strong feel for the strikezone.
