This summer, the best uncommitted Class of 2027 prospects will head to LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA for the premier Prep Baseball Report Future Games. For the first time ever, the state of California will be bringing two teams: Team NorCal and Team SoCal. For the next three weeks leading up to the event we will be previewing each player that will be putting their talents on display in front of a plethora of college coaches from across the entire country.

Standing 6-foot-0, AJ LaSota is an RHP/3B talent from Notre Dame High School. The fifteenth ranked right-handed pitcher in all of California has shot up in ranking following an impressive sophomore season for the Knights. 

In his arsenal, LaSota boasts an 91 MPH fastball while featuring a pitch mix that includes a curveball that has an average spin rate of 2606 RPM, and a slider with an average spin rate of 2752 RPM.

This season for Notre Dame, LaSota fanned 36 batters across 28.2 innings, while only allowing 9 earned runs. LaSota was able to shut down opposing batters in critical moments, notching two saves during the season.

One of his best performances came on May 2nd against Loyola, in which he carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning. In this performance, LaSota struck out five, only walking two batters.

LaSota’s impressive heater and ability to attack batters makes him a must watch pitcher when he takes the mound at LakePoint for Team SoCal.
