2025 Prep Baseball Future Games: Workout Warriors

Hunter Martin
TN Scouting Director

EMERSON, GA – The 2025 Prep Baseball Future Games kicked off Wednesday at LakePoint Sports, and Tennessee prospects wasted no time making their presence felt.

Team Tennessee had a strong showing during the workout on Wednesday as we gear up for the game play on Thursday against Alabama.

The atmosphere at LakePoint was electric throughout the day, with coaches lining the rails from batting practice to the final pitch. Tennessee’s 2027 class, in particular, turned heads with several eye-catching performances both at the plate and on the mound.

Here’s a breakdown of the top Tennessee standouts from Wednesday’s action. 👇

🛡️ WORKOUT WARRIORS 🛡️

+ Jayden Pearl: The No. 1 ranked player in the 2027 state rankings showed off his 5-tool toolbox at the Future Game Showcase. His consistent power was on display with an avg. exit velocity of 101.8 mph maxing out at 106 mph. What makes Pearl special is that his consistent power does not require an incredibly large lift angle. When he does lift the ball with intent, it goes far. Pearl got a hold of a ball that went 417 ft. over the fence to left center. He shows off his athleticism in all forms. Its hard to argue that a 6.56 60 yd. dash runner that has a 91 mph max outfield velo isn’t a future defensive wizard. Pearl is one of the strongest assets for team TN going into competitive play tomorrow.

+ Stephen Bobo: Physical excellence is one of the first things that you think of when analyzing Bobo’s game. Bobo is an exceptional runner with a 6.58 60 yd. Dash time with a lean frame. He uses his speed to cover a lot of ground in the outfield and gun down runners with ease topping out with 94 mph velocity. His physicality transfers to his hit tool with a max exit velocity of 100 mph in Wednesday’s showcase. His good body control continues with his solid swing mechanics and good bat control. Solid, hard contact is what makes Bobo a must have in the lineup with a 48% line drive rate and a 64 % hard hit rate. Bobo’s all around effectiveness will maintain a solid base for years to come.

+ William Weber: 2 years removed from a Junior Future Games performance where the young backstop showed off an exciting, albeit at the time very early plus power tool. Now playing on the main stage it appears that nothing has changed, except how hard he hits baseballs. The current 7th ranked overall ‘27 in the state of Tennessee Weber put on a show during batting practice, generating natural launch and impacting the baseball to the tune of a 100 max exit velo and a max distance of 390 feet. He posted an impressive 83 catcher velo and can hold his own in a top tier catching class. Circle and star this one coaches, loads more to come.

+ Beckett Haselhuhn: One of the premier 2-way talents in the country, we were treated to just the first half of an extraordinary talent. Physically impressive at 6’3 and 230 lbs, he shows great movement for the size at 7.2 second 60 yard dash. At the dish he generates easy explosiveness, living in the high 90s of exit velo and a max of 100.6. Stay tuned to see the southpaw in action on the bump and in the field during FG action, he gets the ball to start in game 3 on saturday.

+ DJ Lowery: The junior out of Knoxville Catholic proved why he belonged at day 1 of the Future Games. Coming off of an All-State sophomore season, he showcased both intriguing and exciting tools. Lowery ran an impressive 6.45 60-yard dash to get the day started, followed by a 91 mph outfield velo, an improvement of three mph since we saw him in January. DJ also made some noise at the plate where he had a max exit velo of 98 mph. The 5-foot-10, 165 lb product exploded through his swing with loud contact throughout the bp round. Lowery continues to showcase why he is the number three outfielder in the class and why he should be must watch baseball the rest of this week at Lake Point.

+ Luke Lawson: In an event filled with the premier talent in the country, the east Tennessee product was more than able to hang with the best. Weighing in a 6’2 and 185 lbs, he brings a projectable frame with a lot of room to develop and grow. Lawson, who comes from a baseball family, has showed steady decrease in 60 time and increase in every other metric. He took a very mature BP round, living right back up the middle with barreled low line drives. He is one who will continue to develop and should have an eye kept on.

+ Carter Hullett: The 5-foot-10, 210 lb junior proved that he deserves to be in the upper echelon of the 2027 class. After great spring and summer campaigns, Hullet continued his stellar play into day 1 of Future Games. He showed quick and smooth transfers from behind the plate with a 1.96 pop time and velo of 77 mph. At the plate, the number five catcher made some noise with a max exit velo of 99.8 mph and a distance max of 390 ft. Uses high hands and a big load into his back hip to generate power to all parts of the ballpark.
