Alex Baird RHP / OF / Amelia County High, VA / 2028

It was a quality outing for Baird as he showed some intriguing traits on the mound. It is a long, wiry frame at 6-foot-0,159-pounds that has a chance to hold some weight. He changed tempo on the mound, showing good balance that threw the opposing hitters’ timing off. The fastball worked in the 84-86 range, and he wasn’t to work inside to for right handed hitters. The mid-seventies slider was the best secondary that mixed in well off of the fastball. The ability to attack the strike zone and generate outs was impressive in this look.

Cam Bates SS / RHP / Bishop O’Connell High School , VA / 2027

It was a standout day for Bates as he put his tools on display. It was some strong rounds of batting practice as he showed some impact and carry to the big part of the field with a top exit of 99 MPH on the day. He has some position versatility, being able to play in the infield and the outfield with an above-average arm and run tool. He is a compact athlete that has tools that can show up in the game to go along with his talent on the mound.

Aidan Dowdy C / OF / Brookville High, VA / 2027

There is a physical presence that Dowdy brings to the field that shows up in the game. He put on a physical display in batting practice with consistent hard contact throughout the rounds. He had a max exit velocity of 106.4 MPH and an average of 101.4 MPH. To go along with the impact and physicality, there is some athleticism as well. He turned in a 7.10 60-yard dash, which is impressive to go with that physical stature. There were some impressions made as well with his ability to handle the run game behind the plate with some above-average arm strength and throwing accuracy. There are some power tools that easily catch the eye that show up in game situations that give some excitement for the future power production.

Connor Galano OF / RHP / St Johns College High School, DC / 2027

Galano turned in some quality at-bats on Sunday in gameplay. He showed bat-to-ball skills and the ability to use the back side of the field. There is zone awareness with an aggressive approach. There is some athleticism in the wiry frame that could see some strength added to impact the offense. He is fundamental and finds a way to impact the game.

Daniel House OF / LHP / Stone Bridge High, VA / 2028

House had one of the most consistent rounds on the day, delivering a short barrel path and spraying line drives to all parts of the field. He then hopped on the mound and made quick work in his outing. The fastball was in the low eighties and has some natural run. He landed the curveball at will, working off of the fastball and the changeup. He pitched to contact and got outs. It was a strong all-around outing.

Cole Krokus SS / RHP / Floyd Kellam High, VA / 2028

Krokus continues to give our staff good looks as the impact at the plate continues to be a consistent trend. The impact was shown in game with two doubles working gap to gap in his approach. Defensively he has fluid actions and footwork to go along with above-average arm strength. It is an offensive profile that suggests third base positionally. There is some two-way ability as well, but the bat continues to take strides that lead to offense first.

Owen Liu-Bailey RHP / OF / Sidwell Friends School, VA / 2027

It was a quality outing on the mound as the pitchability that we have seen continues to be shown. The fastball works in the low eighties as he locates it and uses it to get ahead in counts. The mid-seventies slider, he can land in any count and shows some late depth to get swings and misses. He works with a good pace and intent that attacks hitters and can generate outs in a timely manner.

Sammy Ranson RHP / 1B / Miller School of Albemarle, VA / 2028

Ranson made quick work of opposing hitters in his outing on the mound. He moves well and throws with some light intent. The fastball was up to 85 and was used early in counts. He was able to land the curveball late in counts that generated outs. It is lean strength in the 6-foot-1, 192-pound frame that has room to add more. As he continues to mature, the velocity has a chance to increase to go with the present ability to attack the zone with multiple pitches.

Cole Sheppard 2B / C / PDG Academy, VA / 2027

When it came to gameplay on Sunday, Sheppard was ready and made an impact. It was a multi-hit day as he showed his bat-to-ball skills from both sides of the plate offensively. Two of his hits came from the left side. It is contact driven with not much impact but has a knack for finding holes. He is fundamentally sound, which brings him success.

Aiden Skalski LHP / LHP / Ocean Lakes High, VA / 2028

The southpaw has shown the ability to generate outs and mix pitches to give quality looks, and that continued to be the trend on Sunday. He is an athletic mover that lands the breaking ball in any count that seems to make hitters uncomfortable. The ability to spin is the separator that helps set up his other pitches. The fastball works in the low eighties but seems to play a tick up with the high usage of the curveball. As he gets stronger and the velocity increases, it will make him more of a problem on the mound.
