As we close the door on our 2025 fall event schedule, the Prep Baseball Mississippi staff is taking time to reflect on what was an action-packed and talent-filled few months across the state. This fall featured a number of standout performances, with players continuing to raise their stock and make lasting impressions ahead of the spring season.

These players showcased advanced feel for their craft, projectable frames, and competitive presence on the mound that stood out throughout the fall circuit.

BEST OF THE FALL: RIGHT HANDED PITCHERS

Kolton Beard 3B / RHP / Harrison Central, MS / 2028 From 10/14/25: Beard features a solid, durable frame and shows tools on both sides of the ball that make him an intriguing dual prospect. On the mound, he flashes a plus arm, running the fastball up to 84 mph with natural arm-side run. He shows advanced feel for a low-spin changeup he can land for strikes and mixes in two breaking balls (slider and curveball) that currently show similar shape but offer a solid foundation to build from. At the plate, the right-handed hitter swings with intent, showing a pull-side approach and 93 mph exit velocity, hinting that there may be some possible power potential as he continues to refine his offensive game. With his present strength, arm talent, and offensive tools, Beard is definitely a name to keep an eye on moving forward.
