November 10, 2025
As we close the door on our 2025 fall event schedule, the Prep Baseball Mississippi staff is taking time to reflect on what was an action-packed and talent-filled few months across the state. This fall featured a number of standout performances, with players continuing to raise their stock and make lasting impressions ahead of the spring season.
To continue our fall coverage recap series, we begin by highlighting some of the top infielders our staff saw at events across the Magnolia State. These players showcased advanced feel for their craft, projectable frames, and competitive presence on the mound that stood out throughout the fall circuit.

BEST OF THE FALL: INFIELDERS
|
Asher Cox SS / RHP / Madison Ridgeland Academy, MS / 2028Rankings StateRank: 62 / POS: 9
Cox is a 5-foot-10, 155-pound two-way talent with an athletic, lean frame that projects for added strength as he matures. At the plate, the right-handed hitter works from a balanced setup with an even stance and a higher leg lift trigger, showing some present pop with a line-drive approach to the middle and pull side. He moves well laterally on the infield with soft hands and smooth actions, pairing them with a quick, athletic arm that reaches 81 mph across the diamond. That same athleticism carries over to the mound, where his arm speed and delivery suggest more to come as he continues to develop. A 7.37 runner in the 60-yard dash with 1.72 and 4.05 splits, Cox’s athletic ability impacts all phases of his game. |
