BEST OF THE FALL: INFIELDERS

Asher Cox SS / RHP / Madison Ridgeland Academy, MS / 2028

Cox is a 5-foot-10, 155-pound two-way talent with an athletic, lean frame that projects for added strength as he matures. At the plate, the right-handed hitter works from a balanced setup with an even stance and a higher leg lift trigger, showing some present pop with a line-drive approach to the middle and pull side. He moves well laterally on the infield with soft hands and smooth actions, pairing them with a quick, athletic arm that reaches 81 mph across the diamond. That same athleticism carries over to the mound, where his arm speed and delivery suggest more to come as he continues to develop. A 7.37 runner in the 60-yard dash with 1.72 and 4.05 splits, Cox’s athletic ability impacts all phases of his game.
