Scott has been performing at a high level since we first saw him in the preseason, carrying that success through the high school season, into the state games, and continuing right into the East Coast Super Sophomore Games this summer at UNC Chapel Hill.

The hit tool stands out immediately — Scott features a fluid left-handed swing with advanced barrel control and an average On-Plane Efficiency of 78%, allowing him to repeat quality contact in BP and game settings alike. He’s shown the ability to handle velocity, turning around a 90 MPH fastball for a double to the gap during the spring, and continued to produce consistently throughout the summer.

Behind the plate, Scott displays efficient footwork and a quick catch-and-release operation. His arm strength has been up to 75 MPH from the crouch, flashing carry through the bag. He also impressed with a highlight-reel play in North Carolina, throwing out a runner attempting to steal third from one knee while adjusting his arm slot around the hitter.

A steady performer with advanced hitting ability and improving defensive tools, Scott continues to trend upward as one of the more polished two-way catchers in his class.
