Quick Hits: 2025 Baton Rouge Fall ID

Alex Armand
Louisiana Scouting Director

Zachary, LA - On Sunday, November 2, 2025, the Prep Baseball Louisiana staff traveled to the Zachary Youth Park to host the final open event on our fall schedule with our Baton Rouge Fall ID, which featured over 50 prospects in the state's 2026-2029 classes.  Each participant went through a pro-style workout that consisted of running the 60 yard dash, defensive evaluations, and batting practice using Trackman Baseball and Blast Motion.  Each pitcher threw a bullpen with Trackman Baseball running to receive all of their pitching data and metrics.  Below, we take a look at some of the top performers from Sunday's event.

Peyton Daigle RHP / Rayne, LA / 2026

6-2, 195-pounds with broad shoulders and room to continue to add strength. Relatively unknown heading into Sunday’s event, he’s no longer flying under the radar. The Rayne product works from the first-base side of the rubber with a simple, up-tempo delivery and a long, whippy arm stroke that releases from a high three-quarter slot. His fastball sat 88-91 mph with good downward tilt, while his 78-79 mph slider flashed sharp lateral break and his 82-83 mph changeup showed late sink and feel for the zone. Daigle is now firmly on the map as a must-see arm for college programs looking to bolster their 2026 recruiting class.

Hayden Millen OF / OF / Benton, LA / 2027

The Benton product is a true spark plug, packing plenty of punch into a compact 5-foot-7, 155-pound frame. Millen put his tools on full display at Sunday’s event, starting with an event-best 94 mph outfield velocity. But it was his 60-yard dash that turned heads — a blazing 6.36 laser time, one of the fastest ever recorded at a Prep Baseball Louisiana event.

A left-handed hitter, Millen keeps things simple at the plate and shows a mature understanding of his game. He stays short and flat through the zone, consistently driving the ball on a line to the opposite field — exactly the approach you want from a player with his brand of game-changing speed. Millen hit .500 last spring for the Tigers with 23 RBI, 55 runs scored, and 38 stolen bases, and he’s poised to once again be a key piece of Benton’s lineup this season.

Collin Walls SS / RHP / Zachary High School, LA / 2026

At 5-foot-11, 185 pounds with a strong lower half, Walls put together one of the most impressive all-around performances among position players at Sunday’s event. He flashed smooth defensive actions during his infield session, showing the ability to cut angles and play through the baseball with confidence and rhythm, while delivering accurate throws across the diamond from different arm slots.

At the plate, Walls delivered what was arguably the best rounds of batting practice on the day. Starting from a wider base, he uses a simple load and stride to stay centered, while maintaining a tight, compact turn through contact. The result is consistent, loud contact to all parts of the field with a true gap-to-gap approach and exit velocities up to 98.6 mph.

The Zachary product is a strong uncommitted senior who should draw plenty of interest from college programs heading into the spring.

Nathan Sprankle RHP / Benton High School, LA / 2027

Lean and wiry at 6-foot-2, 175 pounds, Sprankle has plenty of room to continue adding strength as he matures. Benton has produced its fair share of quality arms in recent years, and Sprankle looks poised to be the next one to emerge from the Tigers’ program.

Working exclusively out of the stretch from the first-base side of the rubber, he strides slightly closed and hides the ball well, adding a layer of deception to his delivery. With a quick arm that works through a high three-quarter slot, Sprankle pounded the zone with an 86-88 mph fastball that plays up thanks to an average extension of 7.1 feet (per TrackMan Baseball). He paired it with a sharp, 11–5 shaped curveball at 76-78 mph and flashed an 81-82 mph splitter with late tumble and spin-killing action.

Uncommitted for now, Sprankle has all the ingredients of another must-see arm for college recruiters this spring.

Connor Smith RHP / 3B / Northshore, LA / 2026

At 6-foot-2, 165 pounds, Smith features a lean, athletic frame with wiry strength and room to add more physicality in the coming years. The Northshore product was one of the top two-way performers at Sunday’s event, showcasing impact ability on both sides of the ball.

At the plate, Smith employs a simple load and stride, delivering a flat, level path through contact that produced the top exit velocity of the day at 100.6 mph. On the mound, he’s an athletic mover with a clean, in-line delivery and the ability to command both a four-seam and two-seam fastball at 86-90 mph. His four-seam plays best at the top of the zone, carrying well with an average IVB of 18.7 inches (per TrackMan Baseball). He paired it with a sharp 73-75 mph slider that flashed late, tight break down in the zone.

An uncommitted senior, Smith played a key role in Northshore’s quarterfinal run last spring and will be leaned on heavily once again this upcoming season.
