2027 Top 10 Uncommitted: OF
|
Anthony Cartolano OF / Brother Rice, IL / 2027From 5/14/25: “Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 46 in the state but should be making a big climb in the rankings update coming soon. Compact, muscle-bound 5-foot-9, 190-pound frame. Started in center and hit out of the two-hole in all three games. Advanced defender in the outfield, ultra-quick feet and covers ground easily, excellent reads off the bat, explosive first step, made a diving sprawled out save on a ball destined for the gap, proceeded to get up and fire a strike to second and make it a close play. Offensively, continues to make big strides. Aggressive look to his overall game which translates offensively. Aggressive controlled swings, feel for the barrel, present bat strength and works gap-to-gap. Short and direct to the ball. His 6.81 60 time plays way up on the field. Was getting elite runs times during the Wednesday matchup against Mount Carmel; 4.18 on an infield single and 3.82 on a bunt, also 11.66 seconds from home to third on an inside-the-park homer. Multi-sport athlete who has really started to come into his own this spring. Need to know 2027 name heading into the summer. FINAL LINE: 3-for-9, HR, 2B, 4 RBI, SB, 2BB.” |

Josh Morgan OF / Fenwick, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 23 / POS: 4
From 7/26/25: “FROM 2025 FUTURE GAMES: OF Josh Morgan (Fenwick) is one of the top football players in the state (DB/WR), and he has a similar status on the baseball field, currently ranked No. 14 in Illinois. The frame really stands out at 6-foot-1, 195-pounds, and he seems to be rapidly adding on strength in each look. He’s unsurprisingly a premium athlete with a 6.58 in the 60, and he has strength in his right-handed swing to pair (T94.3 mph EV) - also averaging 71.3 mph for his bat-speed and 21.2 mph for his hand-speed. He roams the outfield with confidence and range, having shown well in-game on multiple occasions with quality reads off the bat, and his arm will help limit the run game (T92 mph OF). GAMEPLAY: Morgan showed well for himself at the plate, finishing the week 2-for-6 with a double and two runs scored. His at-bats were competitive throughout against premium arms, and the athlete stands out on both sides of the ball. He roams the outfield with confidence, tracking down balls with ease and also garnering quality reads off the bat and mid-flight.” |

Carson Hamblin OF / SS / Lake Zurich, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 28 / POS: 6
From 8/05/25: “+ OF Carson Hamblin (Lake Zurich, 2027) would showcase an athletic left-handed bat with strong hands, developing bat speed, and a present feel for the barrel. Defensively, showed a developing profile on the grass with fringy reads to pair with routes that consistently played up thanks to foot speed that produced a 6.67-second 60-yard dash during the workout portion of the event. Athletic 5-foot-9, 175-pound frame with developing strength.” |

Hayden Adamowicz LHP / OF / Schaumburg, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 31 / POS: 4
From 8/05/25: “LHP/1B/OF Hayden Adamowicz (Schaumburg, 2027) fresh off his strong outing at the Future Games, Adamowicz topped out at 88 mph from the left-side. Simple, fluid delivery with a high coiled leg lift into a tall-and-fall delivery starting closed off landing directionally. Long, fluid arm-action out of a low ¾ slot. Relied heavily on a combination of a fastball/changeup while mixing in a big breaking ball. Fastball sat 84-88 with life out of the hand. Changeup sat 69-71 with depth and ASR (avg. 4.4 IVB and -16.4 HM). Mixed in a breaking ball at 63 mph with slurve shape and depth. Would also continue to show a physical left-handed bat, taking a quality round of batting practice in which he produced a max exit velocity of 97.4 mph, an average of 92.4 mph, and a max distance of 374 feet. A short and direct swing, Adamowicz showed a present feel for the barrel that would also show up in gameplay. Strong 6-foot, 224-pound frame.” |

Evan Adamczewski 1B / OF / Maine South, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 36 / POS: 1
From 8/05/25: “1B/OF Evan Adamczewski (Maine South, 2027) came away as the MVP of the entire event. Adamczewski went five-for-six at the plate while drawing one walk, driving in two runs, coming around to score two runs, and connecting on four extra-base hits. Adamczewski is listed with a strong 5-foot-9, 177-pound frame. The left-handed hitter has an intentful swing that has strength at impact with bat-speed. Adamczewski had an average exit velocity of 90.7 mph with a max exit velocity of 98.2 mph during the workout. He posted a 60 time of 6.80 while having a max run speed of 20.5 mph. The outfielder connected on a home run during the first game of the event. He would then follow up with three doubles on day two as he showed a gap-to-gap approach. Adamczewski was the biggest winner of the event and will be a name to keep an eye on in the future.” |

James McGrath OF / OF / St Francis - Wheaton, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 42 / POS: 8
From 5/12/25: “Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 58 in the state. Athletic 6-foot, 190-pound frame with present strength throughout. Batted fifth and played centerfield for the Spartans. Looked the part of a high-follow on both sides of the ball in this look. Offensively, the right-handed hitter showed a mature approach with minimal swing & miss with the ability to not expand the zone and draw walks. He also left the yard on a pull-side homer in his third at-bat, and nearly left the yard again his following at-bat for a double. He has a simple swing with loose wrists that allow him to manipulate the barrel and use the whole field. Defensively, he displayed the ability to be a field general in the outfield and take charge. He also showed to have range, paired with a strong arm that he showed pre-game. A name to continue to monitor this spring.” |

Mathew Crownhart LHP / OF / Father Mcgivney, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 57 / POS: 7
From 2/22/25: “OF/LHP Mathew Crownhart (Homeschool, 2027) first jumped onto our staff’s radar this past fall at the St. Louis Fall ID. It looks like Crownhart added some strength over the off-season, showing a leaner frame - 5-foot-11, 170-pounds. He’s a loose, easy mover down the mound with a long and quick arm path that works out of a low ¾ slot. The velocity on his fastball may not be eye-opening at the moment, but the operation, frame and arm speed suggest velo to come throughout the spring, summer and beyond. His change-up had heavy fade and depth at times, sitting in the low-70s, and his curveball showed short, horizontal action. Crownhart has continued to improve offensively as well. The left-handed hitter swung a loose and easy bat that produced line drives throughout his round. His exit velocity peaked at 92.4 mph (avg. 85.5), while posting a max distance of 337 feet (avg. 228 feet).” |

Connor Krumrei OF / Oak Park-River Forest, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 70 / POS: 11
From 8/05/25: “OF Connor Krumrei (Oak Park-River Forest, 2027) would provide one of the more dynamic toolsets of the event. Standing in at 6-foot, 212-pounds, the rising junior would take an impressive round of batting practice, producing a max exit velocity of 103.6 mph with an 96.3 mph average while also sporting a max of 80 mph bat speed and a 76.2 mph average. Showed a wide setup and a minimal stride with power to all-fields that would result in 405 foot max distance. During the showcase portion, would also run a 6.57-second 60-yard dash and was 84 mph from the outfield. Must know name in the state’s rising junior class.” |

Easton DeBernardi OF / RHP / Marquette Academy, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 73 / POS: 12
From 8/05/25: “RHP/OF Easton DeBernardi (Marquette Academy, 2027) was dominant in his two innings of work, grabbing four strikeouts with his fastball-slider combo. Trim, athletic 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame. The right-hander worked with a rocker step into a medium leg kick, working in-line to the plate, with a full ¾ arm slot and present armspeed. DeBernardi finished with two scoreless innings, only allowing one hit and one walk with four strikeouts. He showed a high feel for spin with his two-pitch mix, landing both consistently for strikes. His fastball was 85-87 mph with a spin rate in the ranges of 2,400-2,500+ rpm, and his slider showed a sharp sweeping action at 75-77 mph with a spin rate in the ranges of 2,500-2,600+ rpm and a HM max of -12.3”. A left-handed hitter as well, DeBernardi had a quality showing offensively at the event. During the workout, he maxed out at 99 mph off the bat with a 354 foot max batted ball distance, and also reached 89 mph from the outfield. He would go on to tally a couple hits throughout gameplay including a double.” |
