Power Rankings: 2027 Corner Infielders

Cooper Trinkle
Scouting Director

As we lead up to our end of year update, our staff hints at impending moves with the release of our position rankings for each position in the class as our board stands at the conclusion of the fall. This class has already seen 31 players make verbal commitments now that the recruiting period has aged just over three months. We begin with our top ten corner infielders in the junior class. This position group already boasts four Division I recruits, a strong start for this specific position. For reference, our 2020 and 2026 classes have shown the strongest groups of corner infielders when looking at Indiana's last ten recruiting classes, each claiming five 3B/1B who went on to the Division I level out of HS.

The 2027 class continues to raise the bar, and today our staff releases our current power rankings for corner infielders in the 2027 class, with reports on those left uncommitted on our board for recruiters in need of a run-producing corner infielder...

Uncommitted Reports

Eli Harris 1B / OF / Jeffersonville, IN / 2027

#1 uncommitted CINF, #2 1B overall

From Fall State Games 2025 -  Harris left a lasting impression in his first event since transferring into Jeffersonville from across the river, and his performance earned him the unofficial MVP honors for upperclassmen. His presence was felt quickly, first with the 6-foot-4, 210-pound frame he brought to check-in, and he then turned in a 6.67 60-yard dash to begin the day. His batting practice round was filled with hard contact to the middle of the field, leaving the yard to CF on a couple different swings to show off the heaviness that comes with his right-handed barrel. He showed as not just a 5 o'clock hitter during gameplay, collecting five (!!!) impact barrels across two games, easily surpassing his peers. Three of his five barrels went for extra-bases, and the ability to impact the baseball to all fields was evident in these passes. Harris has been a buzzy name since the conclusion of this event, receiving attention from both recruiters in attendance physically, and those following our coverage online.

Crewe Hasenour SS / 3B / C / Gibson Southern, IN / 2027

#2 uncommitted CINF, #4 3B overall (#6 overall C)

From Evansville Preseason ID 2025 - There are big gamer tendencies here from the compact, strong, 5-foot-9, 185 pounder, and he has shown them in abundance to this point in his HS career. His best tool is his arm, and he showed it off across the diamond (up to 88) and from the crouch (up to 81) with pops into the 1.9s. His hit tool is also a well-above average tool - he turns a tight, upward barrel that he has feel to manipulate. His exits reached 93-plus, and his bat speed is above average for the class as well. His stats this spring will be followed closely (ended 2025 slashing .371/.422/.529 + 11% K rate) and his best profile may be behind the dish with the frame and toolset considered. He has solid actions on the dirt and plays SS at the HS level, though the average foot speed (7.21) he holds likely pushes him to 3B if he stays on the dirt.

Hudson King 3B / SS / Forest Park Jr-Sr High School, IN / 2027

#3 uncommitted CINF, #5 3B overall

From Top Prospect Games 2025 - King brings a high ceiling profile as a 6-foot-3, 195-pound left-handed hitter that showed big strength in batting practice. He creates easy leverage in the swing with exits eclipsing 97 mph and pull-side strength beginning to really blossom. He has the ability to spray the field when needed, with 3B profiling as the most likely future home, though his 7.1 60-time and room for polish leaves the intrigue that he could develop the ability to move around the diamond.

Cole Reynolds SS / 3B / East Central High School, IN / 2027

#4 uncommitted CINF, #6 3B overall

From Top Prospect Games 2025 - 6-foot-2, 180 pound frame stands out amongst his peers. Is a good athlete for the frame, burned a 6.99 60, and also moved well laterally in the infield with solid average actions to pair. A high school SS with a chance to stick there, though 3B feels like the best fit in the long run, the arm works on a shorter path and plays across with some carry and above average strength (85 mph). Offensively, showed a loose, upward stroke with 94+ exits and power projections likely. Plenty to like here with frame and defensive abilities establishing a safe floor.

Brayden Campbell 3B / SS / Gibson Southern, IN / 2027

#5 uncommitted CINF, #7 3B overall

From Indiana Scout Blog (5/7/25) - Physical CINF that flashed bat speed and ability to handle the entire zone. Quiet load, leans on natural strength to produce power with shorter path that has feel. Has already filled out quite a bit (5-foot-11, 190+ lbs) and was able to muscle a tough pitch down the line for a XBH. Moved well at 3B and was able to make an athletic play on a slow roller.

Aidan Gnatt 1B / OF / Andrean, IN / 2027

#6 uncommitted CINF, #3 1B overall

From Fall State Games 2025 - Physical, 6-foot-3, 210-pounder from Andrean who shined brightest during gameplay. Bottom-hand dominant swing presents the barrel on a flatter plane with some heaviness that stems from strength. Reached a rounded 96 mph peak exit in batting practice before grabbing multiple in-game barrels, two of which went for extra-base hits. Hit tool stands out most here. Good follow for next spring from a program that churns out talent again & again.
