Rising Stars on the Radar: 2028 OF Ty Madden (Don Bosco Prep)

Nathan Goranson
Northeast Scout

Madden made his Prep Baseball debut this summer at the East Coast Super Sophomore Games and was a standout performer in the showcase and gameplay portions. The 6-foot and 167-pound outfielder has a lean frame with long levers with more room for growth and development. After his impressive showing, Madden found himself 7th overall in the Garden State’s 2028 class rankings.

During the BP portion of the showcase, he put together the most mature and well-rounded performance of the entire event. Madden was driving baseballs gap-to-gap on a line with consistent barrels. His exit velocity peaked at 98.7 mph and reached a max distance of 381 feet. In the games, Madden worked multiple quality at bats and collected multiple hits as well. He displayed a patient approach at the plate, forcing the pitcher to find the strike zone and taking advantage of pitches that landed too far in the strike zone. He has a loose, whippy swing that covers the entire zone and can drive the ball to all fields with authority.

Overall, Madden has made a lasting impression and looks to be one of the Northeast’s premiere offensive talents. From his 6.9 speed to his advanced approach at the plate, this Garden State talent is on the rise.
