2025 Colorado Fall ID: Quick Hits

On Sunday, October 26th, the Prep Baseball Colorado staff hosted this year's Fall ID at Rock Canyon HS in Littleton, Colorado. This event featured ~90 prospects from the 2026-2029 classes and allowed our staff an opportunity to get an in-depth look at the players in attendance. Today we continue our deep dive into the data collected at this event within this 'Quick Hits' story.

Jake Huddle RHP / 3B / mountain vista, CO / 2026Rankings StateRank: 87 / POS: 20
Huddle has been actively developing on the mound over the last year and just posted a fastball up to 92 mph at the Colorado Fall ID event. The 6'2'' uncommitted senior flashed plenty of arm speed and talent within his full arsenal during his bullpen, making him a close follow as a top uncommitted arm to know. Huddle's fastball sat from 89-92 mph with a max spin rate of 2,150 rpm and an average of 15.7 inches of horizontal movement. The secondary pitches on Huddle consist of a tight slider and a changeup, both of which he was able to show feel of. Huddle's slider came in at a max spin rate of 2,288 rpm while his changeup generated 19.1 inches of horizontal movement with a spin rate of ~1,900 rpm.

Lissandro Jesus Royer RHP / OF / Ponderosa, CO / 2029Rankings StateRank: 2 / POS: 1
Royer has burst onto the scene as a "must-know" freshman within Colorado. The tools speak for themselves as Royer has now officially posted a trackman verified fastball up to 92.2 mph, a 101.5 mph max exit velocity, and an 86 mph outfield throwing velocity. Royer has no shortage of active strength as the youngster uses all 6'2'' & 246 Ibs to generate some raw power on both sides of the ball. The Ponderosa freshman has a chance to immediately impact his program this spring, and should be a name to circle moving forward.

Thomas Shank SS / OF / Rock Canyon, CO / 2028Shank is Colorado's #1 ranked 2028 prospect and he continues to round-out his toolset. This summer at the Prep Baseball Super Sophomore Games, we saw Shank take things over at the plate and in the outfield where he stood out as one of the top young prospects in the entire event. Shank showcased quite well again during this year's Fall ID, and he now has a 6.90 60-yard dash time with over a 98 mph top exit velocity, and throws over 85 mph from both the outfield and shortstop. Shank's twitchy left-handed swing, in-game prowess, actively developing athleticism, and the ability to play a premium position has now earned him a ranking in the top 250 of national prospects in his class.

Mason Gilbreath OF / RHP / Ralston Valley, CO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 38 / POS: 7
Gilbreath is coming off a strong summer, taking the field with Team Colorado at the Future Games in Georgia. The left-handed hitter offers plenty of upside across the board, showcasing a well-rounded toolset that includes a 99.2 mph top exit velocity, a 7.00 60-yard dash, an 87 mph outfield arm, and a fastball up to 86.1 mph. Versatile defensively, Gilbreath can play multiple positions, and his left-handed swing projects well at the next level as he continues to add strength and athleticism. On the mound, the junior shows a solid three-pitch mix with a fastball, curveball, and changeup, giving him additional value as a two-way prospect. In spring 2025 as a sophomore at the 5A level in Colorado, Gilbreath hit .349 with 2 home runs, 4 doubles, 4 stolen bases, and a .969 OPS across 77 plate appearances.

Damian Fischer 3B / RHP / Rock Canyon, CO / 2026Rankings StateRank: 141 / POS: 11
Fischer put together one of the more impressive overall performances at the event, highlighted by one of the top rounds of batting practice. The uncommitted senior posted a 102 mph top exit velocity and drove the ball up to 365 feet, showing advanced strength and consistent hard contact to all fields. At 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, Fischer combines physicality with athleticism, running a 6.8 60-yard dash and moving well both in the box and around the field. Offensively, he stays connected with a strong lower half, showing a fluid, balanced swing that stays through the baseball with authority. On the mound, Fischer adds further intrigue as a two-way prospect, running his fastball up to 88 mph with feel for both a curveball and changeup. With his strength, athleticism, and ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball, Fischer is an uncommitted prospect well worth a close follow heading into his senior campaign.

Pryce Richie 3B / 1B / Columbine, CO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 84 / POS: 6
Richie is a 6-foot-1, 180-pound corner infielder who brings a strong all-around skill set to the field. The right-handed hitter produced a 99 mph top exit velocity during batting practice, showing real bat speed with a repeatable swing. Defensively, Richie displays solid actions with an 86 mph infield arm and good feel around the bag. He also turned in a 6.90 60-yard dash, showing above-average athleticism for a corner infielder. With his combination of power, arm strength, and athleticism, Richie profiles as a high-upside corner bat to keep a close eye on moving forward.

Dylan Paulson OF / LHP / Golden, CO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 49 / POS: 11
Paulson is a junior two-way prospect who continues to show well both in games and in showcase settings. The right-handed hitter put together an impressive sophomore campaign at the 4A level in Colorado, hitting .400 across 123 plate appearances with six doubles, two triples, a home run, and 13 stolen bases. His athleticism translates well to the field, running a 7.01 60-yard dash with an 86 mph outfield arm and showing reliable defensive actions in the outfield. At the plate, Paulson produces a 94 mph top exit velocity and consistently finds the barrel with line-drive contact to all fields. On the mound, the left-hander works up to 83 mph with his fastball and shows developing feel for his secondary offerings. Paulson has a chance to expand on his ceiling as his athleticism and strength develop even further.

Spencer Steves 2B / RHP / Rock Canyon, CO / 2028Rankings StateRank: 30 / POS: 1
Steves is a 2028 prospect who continues to make positive strides on both sides of the ball. Representing Team Colorado at this year’s Super Sophomore Games in Kansas City, he showcased well again this fall at the Colorado Fall ID as a true two-way talent. The 5-foot-11, 151-pound athlete posted an 84 mph infield throwing velocity and a 93.4 mph top exit velocity, showing an improving right-handed swing with the ability to lift and drive the baseball. On the mound, Steves ran his fastball up to 82 mph and consistently filled up the zone with a repeatable delivery and solid command of his arsenal. With his present tools, projection left in the frame, and steady year-over-year development, Steves is a 2028 name worth a close follow as he continues to refine both his offensive and pitching skill sets.

Ashton Santomo OF / RHP / ThunderRidge, CO / 2028Rankings StateRank: 46 / POS: 13
Santomo stood out at this year’s Colorado Fall ID as one of the more projectable 2028 prospects in attendance. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound outfielder combines present athleticism with clear physical upside, running a 6.74 60-yard dash and posting an 84 mph outfield velocity. At the plate, the right-handed hitter recorded a 92 mph top exit velocity, showing quick hands, a direct path, and the ability to drive the baseball with carry to the gaps. His movements are clean and athletic throughout, and as he continues to add strength, the bat speed and overall impact should take another jump. With his combination of speed, arm strength, and offensive potential, Santomo profiles as a high-upside outfield follow in Colorado’s 2028 class.

Abel Salinas RHP / 1B / Vista Peak Prep, CO / 2026Rankings StateRank: 66 / POS: 18
Salinas is an uncommitted senior right-hander who continues to trend upward following an impressive 2025 spring and a strong showing at this year's Fall ID. The 6-foot-1, 184-pound arm ran his fastball up to 89 mph and features a complete four-pitch mix that includes a curveball, slider, and changeup. This past spring, Salinas logged 49.1 innings while striking out 69 and allowing just 34 hits and 25 walks, producing those numbers in one of Colorado’s tougher parks to pitch in. He repeats a controlled, athletic delivery and competes with confidence on the mound. With his durable frame, improving velocity, and well-rounded pitch arsenal, Salinas is an uncommitted 2026 arm worth a close look.

Keir Traurig RHP / 1B / Chatfield, CO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 114 / POS: 32
Traurig is a junior right-hander and two-way prospect with a strong, athletic 6-foot-1, 198-pound frame and a well-rounded tool set. On the mound, he was up to 88 mph with his fastball in this event, showing feel for spin with both his fastball and breaking ball registering above 2,400 rpm. At the plate, Traurig posted a 93 mph top exit velocity, flashing strength through contact. With his combination of size, arm strength, and developing two-way ability, Traurig is a 2027 prospect who continues to show intriguing upside and projection.

Gabe Melendrez C / RHP / Rock Canyon, CO / 2027Melendrez turned heads at the Fall ID with a 98 mph top exit velocity and a 1.96 second pop time, showing both power at the plate and advanced defensive actions behind the dish. His 77 mph catcher throwing velocity and strong frame project well for continued growth. On the mound, he ran his fastball up to 87 mph and displayed a full arsenal with curveball, slider, and a kuckle-change. With some two-way upside, Melendrez combines present tools with strong projection and is one to watch in the 2027 class.

Nicholas Shiplett RHP / OF / Fossil Ridge, CO / 2029Rankings StateRank: 11 / POS: 2
Shiplett is an intriguing freshman with a 6-foot-2, 169-pound frame and a high-ceiling arm. On the mound, he touched 84 mph with his fastball in this event and complements it with a curveball, slider, changeup, and sinker, showing advanced feel for the sinker at an early stage. His athleticism on the mound for his size and present command give him projection as one of the more promising arms in the 2029 class, with plenty of time to add velocity and refine his secondary offerings.

Caycen Mead C / Golden, CO / 2027Mead is a catcher with a 5-foot-11, 150-pound frame, showing advanced defensive tools behind the plate. He recorded a 1.93 second top pop time with an 81 mph throwing velocity, demonstrating quick release and accurate strikes to bases. At the plate, Mead posted a 91.3 mph top exit velocity, showing developing strength and the ability to drive the baseball. He projects well as a catcher who has a chance to make a big impact on both sides of the ball for the reigning 4A state champion Golden Demons in 2025.

Cooper Julien OF / RHP / Ralston Valley, CO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 116 / POS: 24
Julien is an actively developing two-way prospect who showcased quite well at this year's Fall ID. The uncommitted junior posted a 6.78 60-yard dash time, a 91 mph top exit velocity, an 85 mph outfield throwing velocity, and ran the fastball up to 83.3 mph on the mound. At 6'1'' / 184 Ibs, Julien has the upside and toolset to make plenty of noise over the next year.

Brayden Kotwica LHP / Mountain Vista, CO / 2027Kotwica is a left-handed pitcher with a projectable frame at 6-foot / 185 Ibs that produced an intriguing arsenal during this event. He’s whippy with long levers, generating a fastball up to 85 mph that plays up due to his arm speed and delivery. His breaking ball shows sharp depth and consistent feel, while his changeup is advanced for his size and adds a true secondary option for keeping hitters off balance, especially to right-handers. Kotwica repeats a smooth delivery with solid tempo and is yet another prospect worth keeping a close eye on over the next year.

Camden Nichols SS / RHP / Heritage, CO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 129 / POS: 20
Nichols showed well all around at this event as a junior thanks to his 93.4 mph top exit velocity, 84 mph infield velocity with defensive feel, and a fastball up to 84 mph on the mound. The uncommitted junior continues to increase his numbers since the last time we saw him and is actively getting stronger on both sides of the ball.

Enzo Biala LHP / OF / Ralston Valley, CO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 80 / POS: 4
Biala was a top performer at this summer's Colorado State Games and has parlayed that into a strong showing at the Colorado Fall ID. On the mound this time around, Biala had the fastball up to 85 mph from the left-side to go with a quality curveball, slider, and changeup combination. Biala's fastball velocity jump is something to note as the lefty displayed polish and pitchability during the State Games this summer as well. At 6-foot / 205 Ibs there could be even more velocity on the way, making Biala another uncommitted junior worth a follow.
