As we head deeper into the fall, more and more of the 2027 class are starting to commit to play at the next level. Let's take a look at some of the top uncommitted players in the class. Today, let's take a look at the top five uncommitted left-handed pitchers. This list is full of impact arms that are looking for a home.

2027 Top 5 Uncommitted: LHP

Hayden Adamowicz LHP / OF / Schaumburg, IL / 2027

From 8/05/25: “+ LHP/1B/OF Hayden Adamowicz (Schaumburg, 2027) fresh off his strong outing at the Future Games, Adamowicz topped out at 88 mph from the left-side. Simple, fluid delivery with a high coiled leg lift into a tall-and-fall delivery starting closed off landing directionally. Long, fluid arm-action out of a low ¾ slot. Relied heavily on a combination of a fastball/changeup while mixing in a big breaking ball. Fastball sat 84-88 with life out of the hand. Changeup sat 69-71 with depth and ASR (avg. 4.4 IVB and -16.4 HM). Mixed in a breaking ball at 63 mph with slurve shape and depth. Would also continue to show a physical left-handed bat, taking a quality round of batting practice in which he produced a max exit velocity of 97.4 mph, an average of 92.4 mph, and a max distance of 374 feet. A short and direct swing, Adamowicz showed a present feel for the barrel that would also show up in gameplay. Strong 6-foot, 224-pound frame.”

Grant Statler LHP / 1B / Hononegah, IL / 2027

From 6/03/25: “LHP/1B Grant Statler (Hononegah, 2027) is a name to follow from the day. On the mound, he’s an athletic mover with a simple and repeatable delivery, pairing with a clean/quick arm and ¾ release. His fastball topped at 88 mph with heavy arm-side run, cruising more in the 84-87 mph range. He showed a knack to spin his breaking ball (T2478 rpm), playing with shorter 1/7 shape at 72-74 mph. Flashed a changeup with over 21” of run, sitting around 76-79 mph. At the plate, he has a longer, flat swing that looks to keep the ball on a line, working to the gaps at times with a peak EV of 94.5 mph.”

Mathew Crownhart LHP / OF / Father Mcgivney, IL / 2027

From 2/22/25: “OF/LHP Mathew Crownhart (Homeschool, 2027) first jumped onto our staff’s radar this past fall at the St. Louis Fall ID. It looks like Crownhart added some strength over the off-season, showing a leaner frame - 5-foot-11, 170-pounds. He’s a loose, easy mover down the mound with a long and quick arm path that works out of a low ¾ slot. The velocity on his fastball may not be eye-opening at the moment, but the operation, frame and arm speed suggest velo to come throughout the spring, summer and beyond. His change-up had heavy fade and depth at times, sitting in the low-70s, and his curveball showed short, horizontal action. Crownhart has continued to improve offensively as well. The left-handed hitter swung a loose and easy bat that produced line drives throughout his round. His exit velocity peaked at 92.4 mph (avg. 85.5), while posting a max distance of 337 feet (avg. 228 feet).”

Carter Braddy LHP / OF / Effingham High School, IL / 2027

From 3/28/25: “LHP/OF Carter Braddy, Effingham, 2027 Uncommitted. Trim, high-waisted 5-foot-10, 145-pound frame with room for added strength in the future. Got the ball to start for the Hearts, and also batted leadoff. Braddy gave an upside look on the bump, going right at hitters with his 81-83 mph fastball, with quality secondaries to continue to build on for the future. He went to a 76-78 mph changeup early and often and induced swing and miss with the pitch. Braddy would also go to a 72-74 mph slider that played short and with more of a vertical shape, but it’s a pitch that could be above-average in the future. He would go on to strike out six batters over his four and two-thirds of work. He also showed an athletic left-handed swing and was on the barrel a couple times as well. A well-rounded athlete, Braddy is a name to know in the state’s sophomore class moving forward.”

Grayson Waters LHP / 1B / Oak Park-River Forest, IL / 2027
